 Keahi paced back and forth as he awaited the one he was to duel today. this would be his forth duel and he was becoming impatient as he waited. his tail lashed about as he continued to pace for a few more minutes but then decided to sit down. he did not want to waste any more energy than he had since he would need all his energy to try to win the duel. wrinkling his muzzle it was clear he was also highly bored while also being impatient.

 Kucha-moto had volunteered to take on the latest outsider seeking a duel, to test them and see if they were worthy of joining. So...he'd made his way to the borders without complaint, even though it wasn't his 'shift'. The lion he saw waiting made him raise a brow as he studied him. Good coloring, definitely fit in that way...and then he noticed the look. Yup...definitely didn't like waiting around. That suited Kucha fine. "Tired of waiting, huh? Well, get off your rump, and let's see what you have. You look like fire...prove you've got it inside as well as out."

Keahi was quick to get to his feet when the other told him to get off his rump and prove he did not only look like fire but also had fire on the inside. which he had no problem giving Kucha-moto exactly what he wanted as he launched his attack with no real warning but missed as he swung his paw at Kucha-moto to try to land a blow. "i'll more than prove it." he was not much of a talker and when he was dueling it was clear he was not going to chit chat as he wanted to stay focused.

Kucha roll 1: Miss
Kucha dodged back, smirking at the challenger's response. Yeah, he'd missed...but that was fine. This was just the opening move, and he could recover as the fight went on. "Good!" A fighter, not a talker...this was perfect! He struck out, trying to hook his claws into the other's flank...but not quite reaching as he hit a bad patch of sand. ********>

Keahi had attempted to whip around to attack back as the other barely managed to miss his flank. but as he still wasn't use to the sand, he failed to get a hit yet again as he almost made himself slip in the sand. snarling, he now tried to get his balance back before Kucha could get him. he did not want to lose this duel but it seemed it was not going in his favor or really ether of their favors.

Kucha roll 2: Bide
Kucha had regained his own footing, and saw the opening...but he didn't take it. Not this time. He knew what it was like to slip and slide on the sand, just starting out in the desert. "You'll get used to the sand. Don't step so heavy." He wanted a GOOD fight, dammit! Not one where he bested someone simply because they weren't at their best. That wasn't a victory at all!

Keahi did not like being given tips when he felt he was suppose to win this duel to earn his right into the pride on his own. if he fumbled in the sand that was on him and he would have to learn to deal with the sand on his own or so that was his feelings on it. giving a growl, he went to knock Kucha off his feet in his anger. he did not like feeling weak against Kucha with how he gave him a tip and just simply backed off to allow him to regain his footing. "do not underestimate me."

Kucha roll 3: Hit
Kucha stumbled a bit as the other hit him, kocking him a bit off his feet. But the dark lion recovered and pushed back with his own bulk, growling. "I don't. I want to fight my opponents at their best, not when they're floundering." Goddamn idiot! This was a duel, not war!

Keahi was knocked back by surprise and almost fell flat onto his rump. wide eyed, he attempted to push him back by taking a swing at Kucha's face so that he could regain he footing. but he missed and could only hope that it would still get Kucha to back off long enough for him to gain his footing again. now this was what he wanted, he wanted to challenge since he wouldn't feel he earned his win other wise.

Kucha roll 4: Hit
Kucha backpedaled away from the other lion's swipe, then growled and launched himself at the other, seeking to grab his throat and force him all the way down. He'd made it obvious he wanted no 'sympathy'. So Kich would show him no sort of courtesy. He'd fight, and he'd strike even if his opponent was down.

Keahi tried to back up and get away but he fell backwards when Kucha went for his throat to force him down. giving a load snarl, he now was going for Kucha's face with his paws to get him to let go as he wanted to worm his way away. this duel wasn't going the way he wanted but he was pleased at lest Kucha was giving him any sympathy because he didn't want it at all.

Kucha made a noise of pain when the other hit his face, one that turned into a muffled snarl as he bit down harder and raised a back leg to hover above a point between the other male's back legs. Damn...he was going to have to see a medic after this. He hated face-wounds.

Keahi was breath very hard and even though he wanted to keep going, he knew when he was beat with Kucha at his throat with him pinned. giving out a bit of a snarl, he finally spoke but just barely since Kucha had bit down harder on his throat. "you win." it was all he bothered to say as he tried to relax to show he had given in and knew he was beat.
