It was a nice day, really. There were some clouds in the sky threatening to rain and some flashes far off in the distance told the storm coated lioness that perhaps a thunder and lightning storm was rolling her way. Not that she minded, of course. She loved rain and the sounds of thunder. She didn't quite like when lightning was right on top of her, but, so long as there was a comfortable lapse of time between the flash and the bang, she felt safe, and since she couldn't hear any bang and the flashes were so far away and faint, she figured they were still a good time away from her.
This suited her just fine, as she was simply interested in a nice quiet evening to clean her last meals blood off her paws and perhaps find a little cave to nestle in, or a tree to take cover under for the night. It was a bit hard to tell what time of day it was not though, what with the clouds looming over head like they were and blotting out the sun, if it was even still up.
She had taken the day to wander off from her group of pride mates headed to the musical pride they had heard about. It would be easy enough to pick up their trail once she wanted to return to them so there was no need for her to be frantic about trying to relocate her group. That many lions traveling around was hard to lose track of, if you were tracking them.

Unlike his good friend Yujin, Ping rather do things by the book. He didn't simply leave the pride lands unannounced and cleared it up with the right people before setting off. See, he might be required to escort a 'very important someone' to their allies, the Pridelands. He did not yet know if he would be selected for the job, but just in case, he had every intention of being prepared!
So he needed experience, and hoped to learn a bit these days outside of Tianxia. It would be a couple weeks trip, a bit less than it would take him to actually reach the pridelands. He was about a week or so along and should be heading back soon.
It was very strange for him to be on his own! The terrain and vegetation was quite different, as well as the climate. Away from the nice, chilly altitude, he found the savannahs quite hot and a bit unpleasant. He'd avoided any forests or jungles, as barely any time spent within them already betrayed how humid and stuffy it was.
In retrospect, it probably would have done Ping well to travel more at night than in the day, but for now he was still keeping to his old routine. This evening he had already found a great baobab tree to rest beneath for most the night, lest he be bothered by hyenas or other creatures. Not quite feeling sleepy just yet, Ping contented himself with merely resting and looking out to the grasses.

The day was hot, even with the cloud coverage and the stormy pelted lioness grew tired of walking. With a determined look, she lifted her head high and scanned the savannah for a tree to rest in or under. Perhaps today hadn't been the best day to wander off from her group, but, she'd done it anyway. Always curious to explore new areas and see if she could be lucky enough to find any little trinkets or do-dads to bring back with her.
She let out a sigh of relief as she caught sight of a little baobab tree up ahead a ways. Ngoma lifted her spirits and begun making her way to the tree, hoping to find it unoccupied so she could have a short rest without the threat of some hostile creature trying to harass her.
As she drew closer, she paused her steps, hesitation as she saw something white already ahead. She slunk low and creeped further up to take a better look. Was it a lion? Yes, it was, mostly black with a big white mane it seemed. Ngoma stared up from the grasses at him and blinked, mesmerized by his bright mane and markings.

(No problem! <3)
Despite the lioness' movement, he didn't catch sight of her immediately. Perhaps because he had been looking another way when she would have come into sight, and then she had seen him first and already gotten lower. The grass was high enough to keep him from looking straight at her for a while.
Amusingly, Ping saw the female when she was staying still, just looking at him. He perked his ears and sniffed the air, curiously. The black and white male initially felt a little unnerved. She wasn't as far as he'd have liked – not that he disliked company, but he should have seen her sooner.
But it didn't do him good to just stare back at this stranger. Ping had to know sooner, rather than later, if this was someone he should be worried about chasing off (or fleeing from), or could simply have a friendly chat with. "Hello. If you're worried about me, you don't have to be." He called out, keeping calm. At least for now! Really he was a little excited, because for most part this trip had been uneventful.

NGoma's ears perked forward as he finally spotted her and then spoke to her. After carefully analyzing his easy going calm tone, she rose from her crouched position and offered a smile, feeling a bit ridiculous. "Alright, sorry if I snuck up on you, I.. wasn't sure if you were friendly or not. Can't be too careful in the roguelands." She offered up as her reasoning for trying to hide in the grass. And it was mostly true. She'd always been careful and only approached lions and other creatures who seemed friendly, or did not hold themselves in a menacing manner.
This white and black lion didn't seem to be too intimidating, just sitting up in his tree, relaxing, so Ngoma made her way closer, still keeping a comfortable distance for both their sakes and took a seat in the grasses. "My name is Ngoma, by the way." She decided the best way to show she was a polite and friendly lioness was to introduce herself.

He laughed slightly, because he had been sort of in the same situation. As a fully grown male lion he might have a little less to worry about, though. Aside fro starvation, because that was something females definitely got the upper paw on. "That's fair! And smart." Ping nodded, relaxing slightly.
"I'm Pindua Rangi. Nice to meet you, Ngoma." His common name came easily to him, though he was far more accustomed to the proper one. But he'd been ready for this. Ping took his job, and his pride's traditions, seriously! Unlike Yujin.
She sat a respectful distance away, and Ping would respect that. But he looked (or winced) up at the sky, then to the comfortable shade provided by this nice big baobab tree. Certainly not the best tree for shade, but... "You can sit in the shade if you want." He shrugged slightly, he'd feel uncomfortable if she had to sit in the sun to be polite to him.

She nodded as he gave his name. Pindua. What was a new one, but she liked the sound of it. She thought about his offer to sit int he shade a moment before lifting herself to her paws and moving to sit under the tree as well, offering a "Thank you," and a smile as she did.
"So what brings you out here?" She asked, wondering if he was traveling somewhere, or was just a rogue prowling the rogue lands. She had stopped assuming most lions out here were rogues, as many creatures from packs and prides tended to venture out here sometimes, like herself. Searching for a new home, or for something else.

Perhaps it was excessive, but Ping wasn't sure how much he should tell this lioness. "I'm on a short trip from my pride." He answered honestly. "To prepare for a longer trip." He grinned, perfectly aware that might sound weird. But what was he supposed to do about that? It was true, after all. "Sort of like a self-imposed mission to ready myself."
He just didn't plan on explaining what the long trip might be about, especially because he might not even be part of it after all. "How about you?"

Never one to pry further than what one was willing to offer, Ngoma nodded and smiled, "Well I hope your trip is going well so far." Her tail curled around her legs as she sat in the shade and looked out to the sky, watching as a wisp of a cloud slowly crawled across the sky overhead.
"Me? I like to venture away from my pride and look for little trinkets and things to bring back. Sometimes I find old bones or hide and we use them to make things. Or little pebbles, shells, anything that makes little noises then they clink together." She said as she lifted a paw, the noise she spoke of emanating from the shells on her leather anklet.

He nodded. "It is! No trouble, and I met a very nice lioness named Ngoma." Ping grinned, then felt awkward. Ugh, that sounded like something Yujin would say. Not very Ping like at all! Oh well. Too late now, best try to act more normal from here on out.
Coming from the West House, arts and crafts interested him a bit. Though he was firmly set on being a Royal Guard someday, Ping grew up with this sort of thing. "Why do you want them to make noise?" He asked, curious. Perhaps he could learn something new and suggest it to a local artisan, they might like that. Ping was always eager to please and be helpful.

"Thank you, you are very kind, Pindua." Ngoma always enjoyed meeting friendly creatures in the rogue lands, so far she had been lucky enough not to run into anyone too aggressive or mean. Though, traveling with her little band made it a little easier. She always tried to stay fairly close to their resting spots when she did venture off on her own.
Why did she want them to make noise? Well, that was simple, "Because I come from a pride of music and dancing. The more noise a dancer makes when they dance, and the way it fits into the rhythm of ones steps is considered wonderful and beautiful in my pride." She said in an almost whimsical voice. "Most of us craft our own instruments or jewelry depending on what we do." She added, nodding brightly.

Dancing? That was just very neat sounding. Though that sort of art was also just was encouraged in the West House as the others, admittedly there were no dancers currently. "Ooooh. That's really cool!" And he wasn't just saying that, Ping did honestly think it was cool.
"Well, I don't have any fancy jewelry, but..." He couldn't believe he was going to say it. Certainly Ping could find a way to rationalize this choice later. "When it cools down a bit," To him it was currently rather hot, even if to her the weather might appear somewhat milder. "D'you think you can teach me a bit? Of dancing, I mean."L1m3_gr33n_sh4rp13 We can probably end in a bit! Like them... I dunno, getting ready to dance party.

Ngoma gave him a bright grin and nodded her head in thanks. "Thank you, I really enjoy it." She replied happily. She always loved to share her love of dance with others and even teach those who were interested. It was her passion and her craft.
When he asked if, perhaps, she could teach him she lit up and nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! I'd love to show you a few dances. I'm sure you'll be grand at it! It's really easy too." She explained, wiggling around and making a while bunch of noise as she excitedly explained all this to him.
"Once it's cool enough for you, let me know and I'll teach you any dance you'd like to know!" She told him before prancing around happily and chattering at him about all the different dances she could teach him and what they meant.
wooga Paes We can end it here if you like. Let me go through her RPS and see how many are ready. If I have 5 and you're good on rps to, want to toss them into a breeding thread? (Or is it -just- MixnMatch this month? -can't remember-)
