Mot's room had not been what Yin had expected. The reaper normally seemed fairly put together in his appearance, but when Yin showed up there was dust, sawdust specifically, coating far too many surfaces. There were tools here and there, wood, paint, women's clothing...all sorts of things. But he had at least arrived close to the appointed time (if slightly early, not having a watch or clock meant he had to rely on asking passerby for the time and guessing a bit). Studying had been...well studying. Yin struggled with rudimentary skills, but actually knew quite a few things...if the professor had said them out loud in class. At least now he could shift his hands and write something that was slightly more legible than before, and a bit faster as well.

But he was more than willing to stand up from his chair and stretch, stretching his hands to work out his cramped fingers that never really got used to writing more than a short note or two. It was embarrassing to be at the level he was at, or to have to ask some of the most rudimentary questions that history skipped over because everyone already knew it, but they had made some progress.

He really needed to find a way to thank Mot for his trouble.

He glanced around as he enjoyed the break. "Is...is your room normally like this? Or are you working on a project?"

Mot was relieved that the skills Yin needed to learn were so basic. It helped ease him into giving the lessons required. All in all it was a fairly successful session, but even so when the time for a break came, he was more than ready for it.

The reaper leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms above his head.

"Hm? No, I normally keep it rather tidy. I've been working on things for my booth. You know of Fright Night? It's a student festival coming up."

Tidy did seem to fit the boil better. But what he said after that piqued Yin's interest. "Booth? Fright Night?" He moved over to stare at some of the decorations that Mot had been working on.

"A student festival? Does that mean that all students are to be invited to attend? And you were able to get a booth of your very own? Congratulations." Yin obviously really did not know what Fright Night really was, but it sounded nice for Mot. "Do you need any help with anything?" He was not very skilled when it came to arts and crafts, but he would do his best to help out.

"Yes. All students are encouraged to make a booth, or at least attend. I think it is mostly a fundraiser for the school." He smiled at the congrats, nodding his head.

"Umm.. you could help me, actually." Mot replied, getting up from his chair. "I only have two hands, and some of this stuff is going to be big. I need some help building the game booth." The reaper pulled a sheet from a small box shaped diorama. "It's going to be a shooting game. I just need you to hold up the walls of it while I hammer in some nails to keep it up. Do you mind?"

The reaper was already getting his hammer and nails out once again.

Oh, a fundraiser for the school? Encouraged to make a booth? Maybe...maybe it was something he could do to help out. Amityville had taken him in after all. Mind starting to whir he looked up as Mot stood.

"Of course I can help," he said with a grin. Especially if it just involved holding up walls. "If you just get it all into position I will keep everything steady." See Mot, Yin was in your room and completely behaving himself.

"When you say all students...do you think even I could make a booth?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:35 pm

"Thank you. I appreciate it." Mot got himself set up, beckoning Yin over and getting him to hold up a frame he had built for the game stall. "The tricky part was making this thing so that I can take it apart to move with when the Festival comes." Mot added, letting Yin hold it up while the reaper began hammering nails into place.

"I dont see why not. All you need is a good idea for a game or attraction. It's a great way to be creative. Interested in making one?"

Wow, Mot had really thought ahead with this to even design it to be able to move. The cowboil seemed to know what he was doing, using the tools skillfully. He simply moved as his senpai directed him. At least senpai noticed him, that was a step in the right direction.

"Ah so its a game? Will any game work?" Yin was trying to think about it anything that he knew about. "And you must make your booth alone?" That seemed like a lot of work for one person.
PostPosted: Mon Sep 03, 2012 10:34 pm

"I think so. I mean, as long as people want to play it, I'd say it is successful." Mot said with a smile. "No, I don't think you have to do it alone.. Not if you don't want to."

The reaper finished off the nails on that wall, gesturing for Yin to hold up another frame. "Getting any ideas for yours?"

Yes, anything that would help the school out would be a success. And not being required to do it alone was good, two heads were better than one after all. He had no idea who he would work with, maybe if he got an idea for his booth he would determine it from there.

He reached out and held the new frame in place, thinking about it. "I think a game would be good, though I do not know what sort of game. I shall have to think about it. Something physical though, no mind games." Yeah, that would take quite a bit of thinking. "Oh and definitely a game! I do not think I would be good at attracting."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 03, 2012 10:45 pm

"Physical? Hmm.." Most of what Mot had come up with were semi physical, in that you needed to use your hands. But all of his games involved timing more than anything. "Potato sack races?" he suggested, hammering a couple more nails. "Or whack a mini? That's a fun game." Who didn't love whacking toy canon cats with hammers?

"Well, you need to have something about the booth that attracts people, or no one will come." Mot said carefully, "It doesn't have to be flashy, but definitly something that grabs someone's attention."

"Mine will be Cowboil themed." Big surprise. "It'll have a shooting game, and a few other odds and ends."

"Hm," Yin had no idea what a potato sack was, but just a race...maybe not the most fun. Then his eyes lit up. "You can harm minipets for a game?!" Not whacking them, but well if no one was worried about that..."Hm...maybe if I combined the two..." he trailed off in thought. Mot had started the wheels of thought rolling, though maybe not in the direction he had intended.

"Perhaps I will just have to find an attractive partner then," Yin decided. Yes, he could come up with the game, someone else could attract people in. This plan was amazing.

Just by glancing at all of the things littering the room it was plain to see that Mot was spending a lot of time and effort on his booth. "I am sure it will be a great success Mot-senpai. I shall have to come see it when it is all set up."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 03, 2012 11:02 pm

"I...I suppose you could? Though maybe gnomes would be more humane?" Mot insisted with a nervous smile. Harming minipets just made him cringe for his own pets. Pains as they were he still loved them.

"I hope you do swing by. I think it will be a very fun booth." He hoped, anyway. The only way he could work so hard was telling himself it would be great. "I've got prizes lined up for it." He gestured to the box of Sheriff Badges he had been making out of wood. "And I also found an ad for an old gumball machine, so I'm thinking maybe tossing some other oddities in there as well as a fun gag."

Yin seemed to be missing the point about 'Attraction'. Mot chuckled. "You don't need a beauty queen or kissing booth for it to be an attraction. Heck, my booth is just old wood nailed together with some cheesy old west decor. Actually, the cheesier the better, I believe."

Yin wanted nothing about his booth to be more humane, sorry Mot-senpai. "I will visit for sure then. And oh, we need prizes as well?" That would be a small dilemma right there as he had nothing to give away. Oh well, maybe he could find something to give out. Mot did say they could be oddities after all.

Yin was horrified at the idea of a kissing booth. Absolutely horrified. "There should not be a booth dedicated to k-kissing!" Mortified indeed. And in public? He was almost crimson instead of his normal greenish pallor.

Then, Mot said something genius. Literally genius. "Cheesy?" Yin kirakiraed. "Oh Mot that is a wonderful idea! I shall do a booth with scrags...not whacking them, that game may be taken...hm...hunting them would require a lot of stock...perhaps just capturing them!" He looked so very excited at the prospect.
PostPosted: Mon Sep 03, 2012 11:24 pm

"Prizes usually help lure potential customers, yes. There would be little motivation to pay to play games, otherwise." Mot added helpfully, finishing off another frame. Once again Yin was asked to hold something up while Mot worked. It was much easier to build things with a second pair of hands. It sure beat using his feet.

"Ahahaa.. you would be surprised how popular such things are." Mot wasn't nearly as scandalized by such things as he used to be. A year ago he'd have blushed at the thought.

Mot blinked as Yin seemed to come to an idea, smiling politely as he explained himself. "Capturing scrags? That sounds delightfully challenging."

Did not people just want to play the games for fun? Yin was disappointed in Halloween kind. Still, if prizes were what they wanted, prizes were what they would get. He had a lot of vaisel kittens after all...

And further disappointed at the booth that offered services that were essentially displays of affection in public. How traumatizing.

"It will be easy enough to capture scrags for the game, I shall just have to figure out how it would be as a game..." He trialed off deep in thought, trying to figure out how someone not a hunter would capture a scrags, how he could turn it into a booth. He might have been a bit lost in thought if Mot needed him to hold something else.
