Sara needed to escape.
Her assistant was driving her crazy! It was always, "You need to do this!" or "That is now how a lady should act!" or just "PRIESTESS!" yelled at the top of her lungs. Sara was not a violent person, so when she dreamed about strangling the girl she decided she was overdue a vacation. She just wanted to be alone. No assistant. No guard. No spirits and NO APPOINTMENTS!
She was humming a tune to herself whilst she rode on her hairy cow. Cattle, in her eyes, provided a much more comfortable ride than horses. They were not as fast and they did smell a little funky, but in truth she rather liked the smell and their horns proved to be great handles! Maybe cattle riding would catch on? Afterall cows were much cheaper than horses.
The creature plodded its way up the hill, finally reaching their destination. An old, dusty, forgotten shrine! No assistant in sight! This weekend she was going to hide out here, smoke some herbs, do some meditating and regain some of the sanity she had lost with her workload. Then she would return to her duties and endure everything she had coming to her.
The Priestess was wearing a wolf shaped mask that covered her entire face and a long white cloak that served as a hood. She had become a master of disguise! Her mask collection was vast and she had come to love being faceless. It provided the rare chance to fade into the shadows and people watch. It also gave her the ability to be anyone she wanted to be, it was fun creating new identities and not having to restrict herself to her own, boring persona.
Sara opened the shrine doors wide, Ghost following at her heel. The large white wolf almost purred as she ticked behind it's ears. It had teeth as long as fingers, but at heart he was still the puppy that Hua had gifted her.
"See, I told you it was a left at the river!"
Ghost growled and the girl looked around curiously. They were not alone it seemed. Oh joy.
"Heeeeeello! Anyone home? Spirits! Bandits! SQUIRRELS!?"

The echo of Sara's voice was punctuated by a loud crash from the upper level of the dilapidated, yet still well-to-do shrine. A curse followed soon after. Something large and heavy was thumping on the ceiling overhead, and the rotting wood creaked ominously. There was more thudding before a stupidly huge red tiger came barreling down the stairs. In his mouth was was a hunk of meat, which had obviously just been stolen if the shouts from upstairs was any indication. The Bai Hu paid no attention to the wolf or the woman in his shrine but merely breezed past them. Still a cat though, he did flick his tail teasingly against the wolf's nose before bounding outside and disappearing into the bushes.
Not a moment later, Xiu came barreling down the steps, shouting at his pet for being a menace. The soul conduit's robes were a mess and while they were clean, they were still rather old, as if Xiu hadn't gotten anything new in a long time. At the sight of the Sara, Xiu skid to a halt. He looked the duo over, a grimace twisting his mouth before he ran his hand wearily over his way.
"What do you want?" He asked tiredly. This had been the second person in a week that had stumbled on his hideaway. He had thought the place was properly forgotten but it was obviously not if the long haired lady and her dog was an indication. Xiu promised himself that after he sent this new person away that he was going to move higher into the mountains.

Sara's eyes widened as the big cat ran past her. She gasped and jumped backwards, landing very ungracefully on her backside in doing so. Though she was in so much shock the initial jolt of pain rushing up her spine was hardly recognized by her already overstimulated brain. She watched it even after its exit, sitting there in stunned silence for a moment as she tried to work out if she was delusional or that was actually a tiger.
"That was one big squirrel." She mumbled to herself, letting out a small but nervous chuckle.
It was at that time when Ghost started to bound towards the entrance, his teeth bared. Sara did not know if he wanted the meat the cat was carrying or he just wanted to assert his male dominance but Sara was not having it. She grabbed the beast by the tail and pulled it back, Ghost yelled as his claws scarped along the wooden flooring, his large ears flat against his head.
"We both know how that would end, don't even think about it."
The priestess scolded him, getting back onto her feet and looking over at the man that had addressed them. Haha! A fellow hermit! She shrugged at his question, her mask hiding her large smile.
"Me? I want nothing, just some shelter before I continue on my journey. That was what these shrine's were originally made for, right? To provide sanctuary and guidance for traveler's on this wonderful journey we call life."
She span around, her cape spiraling around her as she did so. She then decided to walk further into the Shrine to get a closer look at the dweller within.

Xiu gaped, mostly because the woman had just pulled a wolf by its tail. It's not like he was worried about Bai or anything. The tiger could stand up for himself. And if Xiu was being honest, the tiget needed a good distraction. He'd been getting wiley lately and was too big for Xiu to scold properly. Still, this wasn't the time to go chasing after his dinner stealing pet. The stranger in his doorway was more important at the moment. He was not about to give up his living place just because someone had actually bothered to snoop this far up the mountain.
"I don't think so," Xiu hedged, stepping in front of the mask wearing maiden to stop her progress. He hadn't bothered to help her up before, though felt badly for it now. That lupine mask was intimidating though. "Why don't you take off your mask and show your face. I've claimed this temple as a noble and you're not welcome here." That, and Xiu hadn't finished crying his eyes out over Sakn. He just wasn't ready to deal with another person yet...especially tall ladies with masks and pet wolves.
