Equipment & Technology
Almost all items in PotS are considered inventory items. This means that to carry them, one must have space to do so. Some items can be carried by hand, or come with their own sheaths and other such things. Others, require a container to hold them. Containers are sized by their number of “Slots”. A slot is a unit of size loosely attributed to about six inches, though often only in one direction. To store an item in a container, that container must have enough slots to hold that item. Some items, along with their number of slots, have a second figure, such as “[3x3]”. These items require that number of slots in two directions. Thus, an item requiring 3x3 slots will not fit in a container that is listed at 2x2 slots. Items with only a single figure listed, such as “6 Slots”, require that number in a straight line. They will not fit in a container listed as “6 Slots [3x2]”, as that container only has three slots in a line. Likewise, an item requiring “4 Slots [2x2]”, will not fit in a container listed as “4 Slots”, as the container's slots are all in one line. Storage Seals however, have no dimensional limitations, and will take any size or shape of item up to their slot limit.
A character may have up to two slots worth of storage in “Pockets” on their clothing. To have more pocket space, their clothing must be created as a custom container.
Basic Tools
Kunai
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Description: The most basic of ninja equipment. The kunai is a small knife, designed for ease of use in both long and short range engagements. They are durable enough to handle close range abuse, and about the right shape and weight to make an efficient throwing weapon. There is nothing truly outstanding about these, and they can be found at nearly any ninja supply shop. Flight speed is determined by the users own speed stat, and can reach up to B rank speed.
Shuriken
Rank: E
Slots Required: 8 Per Slot
Description: The famous ninja throwing star. Shuriken come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common is a small four pointed star. Shuriken are mainly used as a throwing weapon. They are lighter than most other weapons, and designed for flight, making them perfect for long range use. They don't always do much damage, but are still quite useful. Flight speed is determined by the users own speed stat, and can reach up to A rank speed.
Senbon
Rank: D
Slots Required: 8 Per Slot
Description: One of the lesser used, but still good ninja tools, is the senbon. A long needle like weapon, they are most definitely the lightest of weapons in a ninja's arsenal. They don't commonly do much damage due to their small impact, but when used properly, can be devastating. They are primarily used as long ranged weapons, and are used by medics and hunter nin to hit pressure points and vital targets on an enemy's body. Due to their slender shape, Senbon tend to stick deeper into a target, making them difficult to remove. Speed is determined by the users own speed stat, and can reach up to B rank speed.
Makibishi
Rank: E
Slots Required: 10 Per Slot
Description: Also known as caltrops, the makibishi is simply a small ball of steel with multiple sharp spikes sticking off of it. Their most common use is as a trap or hindrance, scattered on the ground to pierce an enemy's feet. Being made of little more than scrap metal, Makibishi are cheap to make and easy to improvise.
Advanced Tools
Ninja Wire
Rank: D
Slots Required: 10 Feet Per Slot
Description: Ninja wire is a very light metal wire. Surprisingly strong, it is able to hold a tremendous amount of weight without snapping, and is as flexible as string, making it popular for use in trapping targets, or just traps in particular. While it's hard to simply snap, it is easily cut with any bladed weapon.
Razor Wire
Rank: C
Slots Required: 10 Feet Per Slot
Description: Much the same as ninja wire, razor wire has a single added trait. It is very sharp, and is more often used to cut an enemy than to trap them.
Smoke Pellet
Rank: E
Slots Required: 10 Per Slot
Range: 5 Foot Diameter
Description: A tiny fragile pellet containing a volatile mixture of chemicals, which, when broken, usually by forceful impact, such as being thrown, create a cloud of smoke large enough to temporarily obscure a full grown adult. The smoke is easily blown away, and only lasts a single post, making it most effective to mask a quick escape.
Smoke Bomb
Rank: D
Slots Required: 5 Per Slot
Range: 5 Foot Radius
Description: One of the ninja's most famous tricks is that of the smoke bomb. The ninja throws a small ball to the ground, and it explodes into a large cloud of smoke. What they do next varies by the reason it is used. The smoke from a smoke bomb lasts for about five posts of combat, and can be blown away by any sort of wind. After five posts, the smoke fades on it's own.
Flash Bomb
Rank: D
Slots Required: 5 Per Slot
Description: A flash bomb, when used releases a sudden flash of bright light, able to blind anyone in the vicinity who does not have their eyes protected in some way. The blindness caused by a flash bomb lasts a mere one post, but that is often plenty for a well planned attack.
Ninja Vest
Rank: C
Slots Required: 8 Slots [4x4]
Storage Space: 1 Slot x4
Weakness: Ninja vests are not armored inside, thus weapons with blades longer than four inches can sometimes pierce all the way through.
Description: Commonly worn by higher ranking ninja in a village, these vests for some seem like a badge of power. For others, they are merely a garment. For all, they are a piece of body armor. These cushioned vests protect their wearer from the full brunt of many enemy attacks, sometimes proving invaluable in a prolonged battle. The cushioning weakens any physical attack against the user by one rank's power, taking the edge off. Unfortunately they are not solid inside, and are not always capable of stopping bladed weapons. Vests come with four scroll compartments on the breasts, which can be used for holding small scrolls, or anything else that may fit.
Basic Weaponry
Knife
Rank: D
Slots Required: 2 Slots
Description: Bladed weapon with a 1”-6” blade, knives are the smallest class of blades and can either be used for utility or battle. Knives carry advantage in speed and concealability but lack range and power. Knives excel in close spaces. Listed dimensions are only a guideline and maximum.
Short Sword
Rank: D
Slots Required: 4 Slots
Description: A bladed weapon with a blade 6” to 3 Feet long. Usually takes a middle ground in terms of speed and power, although often difficult to conceal. Listed dimensions are only a guideline and maximum.
Sword
Rank: C
Slots Required: 6 Slots
Description: A long bladed weapon, the standard in most military forces due to their raw power. Swords range from 3-6 feet long and are usually impossible to keep concealed. Swords are slower than the shorter weapons, and much harder to conceal, but can be very powerful. Longer swords cannot be used with standard sheaths as the users arm is generally too short to draw the weapon. Listed dimensions are only a guideline and maximum.
Hatchet
Rank: D
Slots Required: 2 Slots
Description: Basically a small axe, the hatchet is a much more versatile and portable tool, thanks to it's small size and light design. The average hatchet has a handle no longer than ten inches, and a blade of about four inches. The hatchet is made for use as both a typical axe and multi-tool, as well as combat, being a well rounded close combat weapon, along with the potential of being thrown to deal a good amount of damage at a distance as well. Flight speed is determined by the users own speed stat, and can reach up to C rank speed.
Axe
Rank: D
Slots Required: 4 Slots
Description: Varying widely in length, Axes are generally more designed for splitting wood than skulls. The standard axe can have a handle of any length the user wants, though the blade of the axe is rarely over 6” long.
Steel Pole
Rank: C
Slots Required: 8 Slots
Description: Simply a rod of steel, around the users own height or slightly longer in length. These are used in the same way as a wooden staff, but being made of steel they are both far more durable and pack a much stronger punch, being easily able to go toe to toe with regular swords. These are best wielded by users with a strength of C rank or higher, as weaker users will have a hard time swinging them hard enough to deal damage.
Advanced Weaponry
Zanbato
Rank: B
Slots Required: 16 Slots [8x2]
Weakness: Due to their size and weight, zanbato are impossible to wield with less than C ranked strength.
Description: The blade which myth states can kill horses and their rider in one swing. The zanbato is an immense sword which is rarely practical in the shinobi world. While incredibly powerful, the zanbato suffers from serious speed deficiency and weight. Tend to be up to 1 foot wide, and anywhere between 4-8 feet long. Listed dimensions are only a guideline and maximum.
Tonfa
Rank: D
Slots Required: 4 Slots
Description: Reinforced “sticks” as long (or longer) than the users arm with a short 6” handle, the Tonfa are insanely adaptive as they can be held and used in several different manners, allowing the user to quickly change from defensive to offensive. Usually used in pairs.
Polearm
Rank: B
Slots Required: 16 Slots [8x2]
Weakness: Due to their size and weight, polearms are impossible to wield with less than C ranked strength.
Description: Being a rod of steel topped with either a large blade or simply a hunk of metal, polearms range from the poleaxe, to the warhammer. These weapons stand as tall as their user, and are impossible to wield without a significant amount of strength. Thus, they are favored by fighters who focus on strength, and dealing massive amounts of damage at a time, as they are nearly impossible to block.
Archery
Longbow
Rank: D
Slots Required: 10 Slots
Weakness: Drawing the bow beyond C rank strength has a chance of snapping the bow, making it unusable. (Roll 1d6, 3 snaps the bow at B rank, 3 and 6 snap at A rank. Above A rank will always snap.)
Description: Built to match the user's draw-length, a longbow generally stands as tall as the user when strung. Longbows are the simplest form of bow possible, a rigid staff of wood bent into a D shape with a string. Longbows are favored for their cheap materials, easy design without losing any significant power. They generally lose favor when one is required to move quickly or remain hidden. Fires arrows at a speed which matches the user's strength stat. Can be made with wood as well as either string or animal sinew. Requires a 5 foot bow string.
Recurve Bow
Rank: C
Slots Required: 8 Slots
Weakness: Drawing the bow beyond B rank strength has a chance of snapping the bow, making it unusable. (Roll 1d6, 3 snaps the bow at A rank, 3 and 6 snap at S rank. Above S rank will always snap.)
Description: A more specialized bow, the Recurve takes the power and range of a longbow and packs it into a smaller weapon by arms which when unstrung wants to bend in the opposite direction. This adds considerable tension to the bow and therefore force. However they are difficult to string quickly. Fires arrows at a speed which matches the user's strength stat.
Bowstring
Rank: E
Slots Required: 2 Per Slot
Weakness: A bowstring can only take so much stress, and will snap if pulled with greater than B ranked strength. Furthermore, they are easily cut with any bladed weapon, and will easily burn if exposed to fire.
Description: Strings for use with any normal bow, they are simply a length of thread, tightly wound to enhance their strength, with a loop at either end. These are strung between the ends of a bow to make the weapons usable. Bow strings are sold separately from bows as replacements, as they are quite easily destroyed.
Arrow
Rank: D
Slots Required: 20 Per 4 Slots
Description: A simple stick of about two feet in length, with a sharp piece of metal or stone attached to one end, and feathers at the other. Arrows are designed to be fired at high speed from a bow and are capable of flying as fast as the bow can fire them. A basic arrow can easily pierce flesh, and even shatter bone given enough power, though a strong impact on a harder surface such as stone or metal will cause the arrow to shatter, with likely little to no effect on the target.
Wooden Weapons
Wooden Kunai
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Description: A small block of wood carved into the likeness of a standard Kunai. These are almost useless in battle for anything beyond distraction, however are essential in learning how to properly use and throw kunai as their lack of a proper edge means the worst damage that they can cause is bruising.
Wooden Shuriken
Rank: E
Slots Required: 4 Per Slot
Description: A block of wood carved in the likeness of a shuriken. Although it is hard to get the aerodynamics to fit a proper Shuriken these are also easily crafted by anyone. These are about as useless as a pebble in a real fight, however are essential for learning proper use of shuriken.
Skewer
Rank: E
Slots Required: 8 Per Slot
Description: A long thin needle made of wood, skewers are used for many purposes. Originally they were designed for cooking purposes, holding multiple pieces of meat while they cooked, or several finger foods for serving. For ninja, they are used as a wooden alternative to traditional senbon. Being made of wood, they are relatively less dangerous, flying only as fast as C ranked speed, slightly less sharp, and easily broken. They do however have a tendency to break in a wound and leave splinters, making them popular for use with poisons as well. Regardless of their extra uses, the tool is commonly used for training students in the use of senbon.
Bokuto
Rank: E
Slots Required: 6 Slots
Description: Often used for exercises or more brutal combat practice, Bokuto can vary in size and shape just as much as real swords do. As they are made of wood, anyone can make one, though it can be difficult to get the weight correct. Listed dimensions are only a guideline.
Shinai
Rank: E
Slots Required: 6 Slots
Description: Made out of four bamboo slats tied together with animal sinew, Shinai are essential for learning to use a sword. Designed to flex on contact, shinai are far kinder to the opponent than a bokuto and is only likely to leave minor bruising.
Staff
Rank: E
Slots Required: 8 Slots
Description: Wooden Staffs can be very powerful weapons when used properly, allowing the user to defend even against swords with proper technique. The wooden staff is not able to sustain a head on strike from a blade without being cut, and any C rank impact or higher can break the staff if hit straight on. Can be made out of bamboo or wood.
Sealing Supplies
Scrolls
Rank: E
Slots Required: [1-4 Charges, 5 Per Slot] [5-10 Charges, 1 Slot] [11-20 Charges, 2 Slots] [21-30 Charges, 3 Slots] [31-40 Charges, 6 Slots [3x2]] [41-50 Charges, 8 Slots [4x2]] [51-60 Charges, 10 Slots [5x2]]
Description: A blank scroll, commonly used for drawing seals or recording new jutsu, though they can be used for truly anything. Scrolls come in many different sizes, generally optimized for the purpose of their user. Scrolls are sized according to the number of ink charges they are capable of holding, with the largest commonly used being large enough for 60 charges, while the most common is only capable of holding 10.
Sealing Talisman
Rank: D
Slots Required: 10 Per Slot
Weakness: Being made of paper, any exposure to flame quickly renders these to ash.
Description: Made of high quality paper, these blank talismans are designed to hold low and mid level seals, making them easy to place and use even in the rush of battle. Seven inches long and five wide, they hold up to a six inch seal, or two ink charges, making them popular for use in creating explosive tags and other such combat seals. In addition, the back side of the talisman, if moistened, becomes incredibly sticky, allowing the talisman to be attached to almost any surface or material, though the compound applied to give it this ability makes it impossible to use the back for extra sealing space.
Sealing Page
Rank: E
Slots Required: 300 Per Slot, Must be placed in Book Binder.
Description: A much more dense and high quality page that has been designed to be used as sealing paper. Each side of each page can hold two charges, but since normal ink will seep through one side of the page to another, only one side of each page can be used as a sealing surface.
Advanced Sealing Page
Rank: D
Slots Required: 300 Per Slot, Must be placed in Book Binder.
Description: The advanced sealing page is made of extremely dense material so that ink doesn't seep from one side to another, allowing both sides to be used as a surface to draw seals. This doubles the charges per page from two to four, two per side.
Vials
Rank: E
Slots Required: [1-10 Charges, 5 Per Slot] [11-20 Charges, 3 per Slot] [21-40 Charges, 2 Per Slot] [41-60 Charges, 1 Slot]
Description: Made of either glass or crystal, these vials are designed to hold small amounts of liquid, usually ink or blood for sealing purposes. Coming in many different sizes, they are sized according to the number of ink charges they contain, with the largest available holding up to 60 charges.
Ink
Rank: E
Weakness: Ink cannot be held or transported outside of containers designed to hold liquid, such as vials. Ink is highly flammable, and will burn if exposed to any flame while wet. If diluted or altered in any way without proper technique, the quality of Ink is lost, and seals made with it will not function.
Description: A black liquid substance, Ink is used as a writing or drawing material, primarily in the creation of seals or recording of jutsu. Unlike other drawing materials such as lead, graphite, paint, or even blood, ink is pure and uncontaminated, allowing chakra to flow through it smoothly when used in sealing. Ink is measured by Charges, a unit of measurement designating the amount it takes to draw a symbol of up to three inches in diameter.
Pen
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Description: A rod usually made of plastic or metal, with a metal tip designed to absorb and dispense ink, pens are a simple writing tool, requiring slightly more skill to use than a pencil. A pen's tip must be dipped in an ink vial before use, and can then be used to write or draw at will until the ink is used up. Skill is required as too much pressure on the tip can cause more ink to leak out than desired, creating blots on the paper which will ruin a seal or mar one's writings. A pen's tip can hold about a single charge of ink.
Brush
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Description: A simple calligraphy brush, commonly used for sealing. These are often used when a seal must be created quickly or in a larger size than the precision of a pen allows, but require careful and skillful use, as the slightest wrong move can cause the brush to wander, ruining the drawing.
Explosive Tag
Rank: C
Slots Required: 10 Per Slot
Range: 15 Foot Diameter
Weakness: Multiple explosive seals cannot go off within the range of another, as the first burns all of the oxygen in it's radius, leaving nothing for the second to ignite.
Description: The explosive tag is a staple of the average ninja's arsenal. Being a simple piece of paper with an explosive seal drawn on them, they are quite simple to use. Simply add chakra, wait five seconds, and it explodes. The paper is sticky on one side, to assist with placing them. When activated, an explosive seal detonates creating a fireball with a fifteen foot diameter. This is capable of causing incredible damage at close range, though it's ranked power is only C.
Cost 5 Chakra to activate.
Medical Supplies
Bandage
Rank: E
Slots Required: 10 Feet Per Slot
Description: Gauze medical bandaging, this comes in a roll of great length, and is meant to be tightly wrapped around a wounded limb or other area, then tied off to hold itself in place. As a result, much more is generally used than actually comes in contact with the wound. Surprisingly strong, it is difficult to tear the gauze, and it is generally cut into the needed length with a bladed tool. Being highly absorbent, and wrapped tightly, it is most effective in covering large wounds to absorb and slow bleeding.
Scalpel
Rank: D
Slots Required: 3 Per Slot
Description: A very small knife, scalpels are incredibly sharp, and are generally used by medics to create small incisions with minimal damage and pain. They easily cut through skin and flesh, and as such are primarily used for surgical purposes, though some use them in battle to great effect as their light weight and sharpness make them an ideal throwing weapon in the right hands. Throwing scalpels requires the Senbon Basics technique.
Medical Needle
Rank: C
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Storage Space: 4 Liquid Charges
Weakness: Being made of glass, these needles are easily shattered by any forceful impact.
Description: Being made up of a glass tube, hollow needle, and plunger, these medical needles are primarily used for the injection of medicines, or poison. Alternatively, they can also be used to draw blood by piercing a vein and drawing out the plunger to suck in the liquid. While primarily used by medics, it is occasionally possible for others to acquire these tools for their own use.
Capsule
Rank: D
Slots Required: 10 Per Slot
Description: A hollow ball made of a similar material to plastic, these capsules are used in the creation of pills and pellets, such as the famous soldier pill, and smoke pellets. The material is designed to quickly dissolve in stomach acid, or shatter if thrown, making them versatile enough for their many uses.
Large Capsule
Rank: D
Slots Required: 5 Per Slot
Description: A larger version of the basic capsule, these are used in much the same way, but are used in the creation of bombs rather than pellets. Some pills are still made using these capsules, but they are of much larger doses, and usually have a much more powerful effect than their smaller counterparts.
Misc
Coins
Rank: E
Slots Required: 500 Per Slot
Description: Coming in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials, coins are the basis of the world's economy, with each holding a different value. No exact specifications exist as to what qualifies as a usable coin besides the materials used and the general size or weight of the coin, leading many to forge their own coins after acquiring the materials to do so. The Emperor has attempted in recent years to monopolize on coinage, requiring all coins be stamped with his own seal and face, but this has not been fully adopted by all stores and banks outside of the Emperor's own cities. Unlike most items, all types of coins may share the same slot regardless of value.
Storage Book
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Storage Space: 1 Slot
Description: A book with normal pages carved out to create a small storage space. A cross-belt built into the book holds the book closed. The book contains 30 untouched pages in front of and behind the carved out space. The book and all its pages are coated with a chakra repellent that hides the presence of any chakra in the book and mildly protects the book from chakra-based attacks below D rank, even up to E rank fire jutsu. This same chakra repellent, though, prevents the pages from being used as sealing paper. The unused pages however hold the equivalent of two ink charges per side, allowing them to be used for other uses.
Book Binder
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Storage Space: 1 Slot, Paper Only
Description: An empty book binder designed to look like a hard-cover book--front cover, spine, and back cover--from the outside with an attached cross-belt that holds the book closed when not in use. As a binder, this item is made to hold blank sheets of paper. Any shape, size, and type of paper can become a page for the book, sharing the same slot.
Cheap Page
Rank: E
Slots Required: 300 Per Slot, Must be placed in Book Binder.
Description: A simple page of low quality paper, the material is light and thin, and not very dense, making it impossible to create working seals on. It is useful however for almost any other purpose, such as taking notes or recording jutsu, making it a cheap alternative to scrolls for those needs. Holds the equivalent of two ink charges per side.
Pencil
Rank: E
Slots Required: 10 Per Slot
Description: A wooden stick with a core of either lead or graphite, pencils are a common writing tool, most effectively used on paper or wood. As lead and graphite do not channel chakra well, they are not used for sealing, but are still often used for other writing purposes such as designing seals or recording jutsu as mistakes are easily erased. A single pencil holds an equivalent amount of lead or graphite to ten charges of ink.
Card Deck
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Description: A simple deck of cards, these come in two varieties. First, playing cards, the same as any other deck you'd find. Second, blank cards, which can be customized by the owner. Both types are often used as ninja information cards, while blank cards can be used for small seals as they can hold one charge of ink on their blank side.
Spare Cards
Rank: E
Slots Required: 54 Per Slot
Description: Simple replacement cards, should card from one's deck be lost or otherwise damaged. As with decks, these come in two varieties, playing cards, and blank cards. These are meant to be used as replacements only, gamblers are kindly requested not to purchase extra aces for use in play.
Camping Tent
Rank: E
Slots Required: 8 Slots [4x2]
Description: A simple canvas camping tent, consisting of a large canvas tarp, a wooden rod and a few short lengths of rope. The tent is stretched over the provided rod and tied down using the ropes and some sort of stake. When rolled up the tent is small enough to be carried on one's back. When set up it is large enough for a single individual to sleep inside, protected to some degree from the weather outside. These are usually used on long missions when a shinobi doesn't have the luxury of a proper shelter.
Padlock
Rank: D
Slots Required: 1
Description: Created for the sole purpose of keeping things closed, padlocks are a steel mechanism with a loop at one end. The loop is placed through slots on an object, such as a door or chest, and latched closed by inserting it into a slot on the top of the padlock. Opening the padlock again requires the use of a key, or, for the less legally inclined, lock picking techniques. As padlocks attach to the outside of the container they are locking, they require no storage slot when in use.
Keys
Rank: E
Slots Required: 10 Per Slot
Description: Used for opening locks, keys are specially shaped to match their lock. No two locks can be opened by the same key, unless they are specifically made to do so. Thus, one cannot use a single key to open any lock. All locks come with one key of their own, however spare keys can be created by most any blacksmith, provided they have access to the original, in case one expects to lose their key, or wishes to give one to a friend.
Storage Containers
Bomb Holster
Rank: E
Slots Required: 4 Per Slot
Storage Space: 1 Bomb
Description: A small fabric pouch, just barely large enough to hold a single bomb. These are generally worn as clothing accessories to hide the explosive devices inconspicuously on a ninja's body. Being made of fabric however, they are easily destroyed, and if they are hit hard enough the bomb could go off inside of them.
Kunai Holster
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Storage Space: 1 Slot, Kunai Only
Description: A small leather pouch with a flap to cover the top opening, these are used for quick access to a ninja's kunai. The leather is just hard enough to prevent the carried kunai from accidentally cutting itself free, and the lid snaps closed so the kunai cannot simply fall out. On the back of the pouch are two small slots for putting a strap through, so the pouch may be worn on the user's belt or strapped easily to a limb.
Shuriken Holster
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Storage Space: 2 Slots, Shuriken Only
Description: A small leather pouch, with two iron rods set horizontally from back to front. Each rod holds eight shuriken. The front of the pouch is designed to flip open, revealing the rods of shuriken for quick access. The ends of the rods are bent slightly to prevent the shuriken from falling free on their own while the pouch is open, and the cover snaps closed tightly making it impossible for them to slip loose while it is closed. On the back of the pouch are two small slots for putting a strap through, so the pouch may be worn on the user's belt or strapped easily to a limb.
Hip Pouch
Rank: D
Slots Required: 2 Slots
Storage Space: 9 Slots [3x3]
Description: A large leather pouch, with a thin metal lining on the inside. These pouches are used by ninja to carry more small tools than can be held in holsters, without weighing themselves down with a full backpack. The metal lining in the pouch makes it possible to hold a wide variety of weapons without fear of them cutting free. Furthermore these pouches come with adjustable liners that can be moved about inside to compartmentalize the pouch. When opened, the entire inside of the pouch is exposed, making it possible to access anything as needed, and when closed, it snaps tightly shut to prevent accidental opening. The back of the pouch is outfitted with four leather bands for a strap or belt to be run through.
Leather Quiver
Rank: D
Slots Required: 10 Slots, 5x2
Storage Space: 4 Slots
Description: A leather quiver, this is a tall pouch designed to hold arrows. It has no cover, allowing the shafts to protrude from the top for easy access, and the bottom is double layered to prevent arrows from cutting free. The quiver can hold up to 20 arrows at a time, or whatever else will fit just tossed inside. Keeping other items in a quiver is not recommended however, as it is hard to quickly access them, and without a cover, items can easily fall out should the quiver be tipped.
Money Pouch
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1
Storage Space: 1
Description: A simple fabric pouch with a drawstring mouth, these are commonly used for holding a person's money for easy access. Unfortunately, with the increasing number of people wearing their pouches simply tied to their belts, this often results in easy access to others as well. Despite this flaw, the pouches are invaluable for keeping one's wealth in one convenient place, and they can easily be kept in safer quarters.
Key Ring
Rank: E
Slots Required: 1 Slot
Storage Space: 1 Slot, Keys Only
Description: A ring of steel with a simple hing and latch, these rings are designed to hold a large number of keys, for those with many locks. Key rings are useful in that they keep all of one's keys in one place, thus preventing them from being lost. However, one should be warned against wearing them on their belt, as thieves have a tendency to see such things as an invitation to share and partake.
Custom Containers
In addition to the common containers listed above, players may also create custom containers as they wish. Custom containers are all made of at least one material from the list below, and are priced according to both material and number of slots. Simple custom containers with only one storage space and no extra function may be created at will and simply purchased and added to one's profile. Containers with multiple storage spaces, extra functions, or multiple materials however, must be applied for in custom technology.
Fabric
Weakness: Fabric containers are highly flammable, and may burn, losing everything inside. Additionally, they are not waterproof, thus will not protect items that may be damaged by water. Finally, they are also quite weak, and prone to ripping if put under sufficient force, or being cut by any sort of bladed tool.
Description: Being made up of fabric, usually created from woven plant fibers or animal hair, fabric containers are about as basic as they come. These are usually seen in the form of bags and pouches, as they aren't stiff enough to hold any more intricate shapes. As a tradeoff for their lackings, fabric containers are quite easy to make, and the materials are common, making them quite cheap.
Leather
Description: Leather is the most preferred material for most containers used by ninja. Strong and durable, it holds up well in any circumstance. Resistant to all but the hottest of flames, and almost entirely waterproof, items in a leather container are safe from most environmental difficulties. Additionally leather is easily molded into almost any shape, making it a preferred material for intricate containers. Leather is subject to wear however, and if placed under enough stress, it can be broken. Most leather containers made for weapons are reinforced with extra layers, or a layer of steel to prevent the weapons cutting free.
Wood
Weakness: Wood is highly flammable, quite heavy, and will break if put under significant pressure.
Description: Wood is the most common material for stationary containers. Too heavy and bulky for most people to want as portable containers, it is primarily used to build such things as chests and barrels for storing large amounts of materials in one's residence.
Steel
Description: Steel is the preferred material for creating containers holding items that the owner doesn't want anyone to get to. Incredibly heavy, and incredibly strong, steel containers can hold up to almost any force and keep their contents safe. Most steel containers come in such forms as chests and strongboxes for the storage of large amounts of money or valuables.
