The humidity, oh the humidity. Who could have ever believed that such a word could mean feeling like your being closed in on by the air around you. Oh Furiko was stiffling in the stuff. He was so hot that he was laying on sand at the edge of the beach under the shade of a tree trying to keep cool. He had groomed and groomed and groomed his thick layered fur to try and get all the shedded hair he could out so he could possibly be a tid bit cooler.
His fur was designed for mountain ranges, cold mountain ranges but he had moved from those mountain ranges to live his life in the jungle. His former home was the inspiration for his gypsy name Blue Mountain. He didn't want to forget where he had come from even while he began a new life in a new home. His gypsy name was how he honored his past while still embracing his future. He loved the Kizingo'zaa pride and would never want to be anywhere else.

When she got closer to the beach she saw a blue lion that she did not recognize. It wasn't too odd for her not to know a pride member. She did want to meet them all someday though. In her opinion it was better to have lots of friends.
Forgetting her little hiding game she decided to meet the blue lion. It was his blue coat that attracted her to him. She liked that they both had blue fur. Having something in common was always a good way to start off a friendship, she thought. She approached him from the side.
"Hello mister!" She said when she was close enough to him. Her maw had a huge grin on it. "I haven't seen you around here before. Are you new?"

Furiko could hear something moving around in the brush of the jungle behind him. He wasn't too concerned about what or who it might be. Living in a pride all his life has taught Furiko that rustling in the brush within the pride lands was rarely anything that could be a threat and he was right. Just moments after he heard the rustling a little blue cub bounded out and started talking to him.
Even in his overheated state he was amused by her. Her blue coat was a lovely shade. Darker than his but still very pretty on her. He hadn't really been around too many cubs in his old pride except when he was delivering meat to the cub sitters. He knew how to conduct himself but he was meeting many more cubs now than he had before. "I guess you could say I'm new to the pride." He replied to her question. "My name is Furiko. What is your name?"

"My name is Larmina!" She said with a huge grin. "Nice to meet you mister Furiko. You know what? We both have blue coats! They are a little different but they are still blue. Your fur looks a lot thicker than mine though. Is it okay it I feel it?" As she spoke, she ended up speaking quicker and quicker, as she grew more excited.
"And mister Furiko, I think you and I will be good friends. What do you think?" She did not want to make a friend with someone that didn't want to be friends with her. It would be rather rude, she thought. "I don't have too many friends and it never hurts to have another one right mister?" She really hoped he would be her friend. So far she had yet to make an adult friend.

Furiko blinked as he listened to the sweet little cub talk. She was rather cute. He just couldn't resist her cuteness. "It's nice to meet you Larmina. You have a very pretty name." He told her and then chuckled at her question. "Yes you can feel it if you like." He told her. His fur was much thicker but also was slightly curled which made his fur feel even thicker than had it not been curled.
Her sweet and innocent words were enough to really warm his heart to her. Who could resist this sweet little ball of fur and tell her that she wasn't his new friend. "I think so too Larmina and your right it never hurts to have one more friend. Friends are the foundation for a good life." He told her as he knew he had himself a new good friend in this adorable little cub at least till she hit adol and relized he was a loer or something like that.

"Thank you, it means 'blue skies' or at least that is what my momma told me." Larmina said with a grin. She put one of her paws gently on his fur. "Your fur is so different than mine! It is really cool." She enjoyed how the curls felt on her paw.
"How did you get your fur like that? I think that it would be fun to have for a little bit!" She would stand out quite a bit, she thought. But that didn't bother her, she would like to stand out. It would be fun for a little bit.
When he said he would be her friend, her grin widened. "I am so glad we are friends! Sometime when we aren't busy we should play some games. That is what my other friends and I do. Though I like to play by myself sometimes, I like to hide from others and see how long till someone spots me. It is really fun.

Furiko grinned at her when she touched his fur. He remembered being little and seeing and feeling new things for the first time. He was always that more curious about it after seeing and feeling it.
"I was born with it. If I could I would let you have it. Here it's not fun to have at all." He replied knowing if she had his fur she wouldnt want it by the end of the day. Right now he didn't want it.
"That sounds like a lot of fun Lamina. I would love to play with you sometime." He told her. "Your practicing a good skill. Keep up your hiding but when your mom calls you make sure you answer." He didn't want her in trouble should her mother go looking for her and he didn't want that same mother after him for telling her to hide.

"It's such a shame that's no fun. I would let you borrow my fur any day. That way we can both get what we want! Maybe if we ask a god they can switch our furs. That would be a lot of fun. Though, I don't know if my fur will fit you right now. You are a bit bigger then me." she said, comparing herself size wise to him. Maybe someday she would get bigger, but for now it was easier for her to hide with her little body.
"I always come out when mama calls for me, even if I am hiding from others. Though if mama is playing hide and seek with me, I usually don't come out when she calls me. Only if she says that it is an emergency. But usually I come out." She nodded her head. Larmina liked to think that she was mama's perfect little angel despite all the trouble she caused.
"What kind of games do you like to play?" She asked. Her eyes went up to see the location of the sun. Soon she would have to head home before her mom worried. She was sure it would be okay to spend a little bit more time with Furiko. As long as she was with an adult, her mom wouldn't worry.

Furiko couldn't help but chuckle at the little cub and her ideas. She was just so cute. "That's true. I don't think your fur would completely cover my leg. Mine though would probably be enough to wrap you up a couple of times." He told her while imagining her being wrapped in his fur. It would be a very amusing sight.
When she replied to him about coming out for her mom he nodded. She was smart in that aspect and respectful to her mom too. He knew her mom wouldn't like being worried about her baby. No mother would after all.
"It's been a long time since I got to play any games but if I had to pick a favorite I'd say..." He had to ponder on it for a few minutes to remember all the different games he used to play as a cub. "My favorites are tag and play wrestling. I really enjoyed those when I was your age."Club Snails Sorry it took me so long. ^^;

Larmina laughed at Furiko. He was probably right on both accounts on the fur. "Someday I will be big and when I am I will have so much fur!" She said with another laugh. It was hard for her to believe that she would be a very large lioness. Right now she was so itty-bitty. If she did grow, she wondered how big she would grow. Right now she liked being small, but she was sure being big had its advantages as well.
She frowned when he said he hadn't played games in a while. "Mister Furiko, why don't you play games anymore? You got to burn off energy somehow!" Larmina said with a nod. When she was super hyper that was when she usually played games. "If you want to, you can play with me and my siblings next time we play a game. Sometimes we play tag and wrestling." She said with another nod.
She was certain her siblings wouldn't mind another lion playing with them, even if he was an adult. They would have fun regardless, or she would anyways. "If we play tag, maybe you and I can team up to tag everyone! I am pretty fast and I think you could be to, though I am not sure. But if you are we would make a really good team!"Izzy Makani No worries. I was late with a reply myself.

Larmina was such an adorable little cub. All her blubbliness just made Furiko's heart float. There was no way he could ever say no to such an adorable little cub.
"Ah well I just don't have as much energy to burn as I used to. I use the energy I have to hunt for the pride. I would love to play with you and your siblings sometime though. I've always got enough to play with my friends." He told her. He had no doubt that her siblings were probably just like her. Happy and bouncing off every rock they could find. It would certainly be fun to see if they could beat him at a game.
"Oh I would love to team up with you in tag. I'm not the fastest lion of the pride but I bet I'm fast enough to play tag."Club Snails Sorry darlin for the way late late post. ^^;

Larmina nodded her head. “Well me and my siblings have enough energy to share!” She was getting excited for when she would get to play with him and her siblings. “We will be the best team up ever. I am sure of it.”
She glanced back at toward the direction she came from. It had been some time since she left her mother. She felt that she ought to get going soon. “Mister Furiko, I got to go. I don't want to worry my ma. But when I see you again, we will have to play tag for sure.” She said with a nod of her head. She got up. “I can't wait to play.” She said before heading back toward her den. Izzy Makani No problem. Sorry my response wasn't very long.

Lamina's excitement for their future play time just lifted Furiko's spirits. After being around such a happy and excited cub his day was gonna continue on as a good one. Not even the heat would bring him down. "Well if you're sure I know we will be."
As she looked back in the way she had come Furiko's ears perked up. She had been here for quite sometime talking to him and his mind went to her mother. She was probably getting worried. When Lamina said she had to go Furiko nodded. "I'll see you again soon Lamina!" He replied as she headed off back to her home and he was left to try and keep cool. After that encounter though he wasn't as bothered by the heat anymore and a smile stayed glued to his face for the rest of the day.Club Snails And fin. ^^ Let's get those two together again in the future. They were fun! <3
