Under the great bright sun, the brown lion Eachann journeyed far and wide in search of something. Yet right now he needed a break from that and welcomed the sight of the water hole. The water looked fresh under this horrid heat, making Eachann lick his parched lips. Coming up to the watering hole he looked around to see that he was rather alone and began to drink. It wasn't that he didn't like being around others it was just that he was quite cautious to not be around those who would start trouble. He didn't like trouble one bit and would like to avoid that if he could. Other than that Eachann's body language was calm and rather easy to approach him.

 Darnell was also looking far and wide. For those to pounce gleefully on and pest about his pride. He made it fun and enjoyed himself. Hopefully his 'victims' did too. It had been a fruitful day. He had the luck to encounter a number of others that he directed toward his pride. Feeling that he'd done a good day's work, the green cheetah headed to the closest watering hole. Right now he was thinking of a certain cheetahess.
Quick feet brought him to the outskirts. Darnell spotted one brown lion already there. He flicked his tail in a quick greeting and helped himself to a belly full of water. Maybe a quick nap then he'd be off. He flopped down not too far from Eachann. "Hot day."

Taking his time in drinking his water the lion sat down to let the coolness reach throughout his body. It was very unexpected that someone else would come across him, though he later thought how silly that was since everyone else did need to drink on a day like this. From the corner of his eye he watched the new comer, a cheetah, take his fill of the water and rested not far from him. Hearing his words Eachann grunted in agreement. "Very hot day." He replied looking up at the sun and sighed, laying down himself since the rays seemed to beat down on him.

He regarded the brown lion as he stretched out. It felt good to get off his feet. Darnell slitted one green eye to watch him. Although he considered his work for the day fullfilled, he couldn't pass up the opportunity to offer another invation.
"Well if you're looking for a nice place to cool off, relax, and have fun, I know just the place. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Darnell'Aiolos. You can call me Darnell. I live with a pride that loves to throw parties. You see that's what we do." He gave an awkward bow from his laying position which was really more a head nod. "Personally, I'm in charge of going out and telling others what's on the list of celelbrations for this season. Tell me would you be interested?"

Eachann stiffend slightly, looking over at the male. Out of respect he bowed his head to the cheetah, no his name was Darnell'Aiolos. Well the cheetah wished to be called Darnell yet the brown lion thought that to be too friendly. Focusing back on the cheetah he listened and stiffened even more at the mention of a pride. "With respect I must dutifully and politely decline. I wouldn't mind you telling me about it but I cannot join in such celebrations."

"Oh? Why not? You seem like a lion of a very dour disposition sir." Darnell good natureally rolled onto his back to itch it against the dirt. "I promise you a lot of thought and planning goes into our parties." The green male flopped back onto his side facing the lion thoughtfully. "Is it because you believe we require you to join the pride?" He started to laugh then calmed himself.
"Do not fear. You would be free to come or go as you like. No one is force to remain. You strike me as one who could use a good party. Let go. Relax. There are many pretty lionesses there." He playfully waggled his eyebrows at the other male.

Eachann looked at the male and shook his head. "I don't have a dour disposition. I just....I just don't feel like I need to go to a party." He replied then sighed deeply. Then the cheetah asked a question that hit the nail on the head about his reservation...joining a pride. Eachann wasn't ready to join one until he learned what happened to his parents, his siblings and to find the lioness who nursed him then left when he was on the verge of adolescent-hood.
The brown male's ears twitched and looked at Darnell then shook his head. Lionesses....He doubted anyone of them would like him. "No Darnell. I cannot and would not wish to impose or....bring my dour disposition to your party. I doubt I would be a good member to celebrate anything, even with....pretty lionesses."

He flipped his tail as Eachann worked around the subject. His green eyes searching the lion's face; though he had a serious expression his eyes held a slightly mischeivious twinkle. "Now is that because you've never been to a party before?" Darnell twisted his head around so that he was looking at him upside down. "I can promise you we're a lot of fun."
He gave a snort and rightened himself. "Well if you're not interested in lionesses then there's always an abundance of cheetahesses and leopardesses. Man, that's a lot of essses." He gave a laugh and bumped Eachann with a friendly green paw. "I think it'd help you loosen up. You need to learn to relax."

The lion looked a little put out unsure of how to answer Darnell when he...Already answered his own question. That is to say that Darnell once again hit the nail on the head. Eachann had never been to a party. He didn't know anyone really to even consider going or even talk to anyone about doing something fun. While this cheetah was very friendly he was also...fun. How was he supposed to act around fun with a large crowd?
Blushing lightly, if you can see it, Eachann's ears dropped against hsi head looking down. The brown lion didn't really know what he was interested in. Whether it be male or female, though he was very sure that a female would suit him best, or what species from lioness to cheetahess or leopardess...Heaven above that was alot of 'ess. Feeling the paw bump on him he blinked and shook his head. "I don't want to.....I don't know." Was he seriously considering it?! It seemed like it since he didn't say no....yet.

Darnell smiled gently. He had suddenly come upon this lion and laid out a bold offer. It was somewhat unusual, but this male had taken it well. Point he hadn't been told off outright. It delighted him to bring a surprise and something new to others.
"Well tell you what. For hearing me out, why not think about it awhile? Before I leave I can give you directions to us. That way if you ever to decide to visit you'll know where to find me." The green cheetah was utterly confident that his pride could bring a smile to this lion's face. All he had to do was get him there; which was what he was damn good at.

Eachann watched the male and nodded. He had taken it surprisingly well this invitation, this sudden offer to go where others were to be festive and...happy. Listening to the male he nodded. Yes he would have to visit this pride someday but that day wasnt now.
"Alright....From this day on I consider you my friend. I will someday consider coming to your pride to join in your celebrations. But I will think about it until that time comes." Standing up he bowed to the cheetah. "For now, I bid you good day." Giving another bow the brown lion left the friendly cheetah to move on to his journey. A journey that will return to this place and the pride that Darnell belongs to.
