The afternoon was beginning to wind down and Buluu was actually happy this day was close to ending. He'd been stuck up a tree for most of it during a freak flash flood in a dried up marsh. Once he'd been able to get down he had slushed through the muddy marsh and back onto dry land. He was dry now but his fur was crusted with mud and the white fur on his legs and stomach were now brown and pieces still had dried dirt clinging to it.
He looked horrible but he wasn't caring at all. He was trully just glad to be alive and out of that stupid tree. He had certainly learned his lesson of the day from that trial. He swore to never ever trust a clear cloudless sky and to never set foot in a dried up marsh again. He would have never believed how fast a marsh could fill with water if he hadn't been there himself.

Pallas had decided to play by herself this day. She was out of eyesight of her 'family' but easily withing yelling distance. Her mother had made sure she knew the dangers before she'd been let out of sight. The juv was entraining herself by jumping up and down some rocks. Earlier she'd been watching the waters glisten off a marsh. It looked so wide. But now it just looked wet and muddy. The juv didn't want that mud on her white coat. Her sister wouldn't have too much trouble with it though.
She scrambled up to the top of a particularly large, for her, boulder. Sitting at the top she saw a white, blue, and mud brown feline coming her direction. Pallas sat up regally. Her purple eyes tracked his movement. When he got close enough she spoke up.
"You're falling to pieces." She observed some of his 'mud' color crack and fall to the ground.

Buluu had been paying little attention to what was around him when he heard a young voice call out to him when he walked by. He glanced about a bit disoriented at first but then he spotted her up on a boulder all by herself. She was young and a lion. Being young he was no where near as nervous of her as he would have been if she had been bigger but he did have to wonder if her mother was around. Did he need to worry about her...
As he realized what she'd actually said to him he glanced down at the dried mud clinging to his legs and chuckled a bit. "Well I guess it's to be expected when you've only recently climbed out of a muddy marsh that wasn't so muddy when you first went in." He replied as he looked back up at her a smiled kindly.

The young lioness observed him a moment. Her eyes taking in his blue markings, gradiant and darker than her own; splotchy to her eligant swirls; his lean form compared to her father's very fluffy self. Seeing this scrawny cheetah made him seem..... uncomplete to her. Pallas considered what he said.
"Where's your mane? And why are you so scrawny? Didn't your mama feed you well?" Finally she decided to assess his statement with a sniff, "why didn'y you leave when it started getting wet?" She flicked her ear at his silliness. Mother always made her get out of the rain.

Even despite his exhausted state he still couldnt help but smile at the little cub. She seemed to have plenty of questions to spare in her little mind. Buluu rarely ever got around many cubs anymore so this was a refreshing change of pace for him. "You seem like such a sweet little cub." He replied not really answering her questions as of yet but if she pushed her questions he might.
"Well I was trying to get out I was just a long way from shelter."

Izzy Makani Sorry didn't get the quote. The young female lifted her head indignantly when he called her a cub. "I, am a juv. Not a cub." Her voice haughty from her raised position of a juv over a cub. She flicked her ears as he didn't answer her questions. It bothered her.
"Is something wrong with you? You have something that makes you all scrawny like that?" Pallas leaned back and raised a paw to ward him off. She didn't want to catch anything he had that would make her scrawny too. "I guess you've learned your lesson then hu? Gonna go back in there?"

Buluu blinked at the snappy response he recieved from her about the cub comment. "I appologize." He replied and bowed his head slightly to motion his appology.
He could tell she was not going to give up on the questions she had asked so he was simply going to have to answer them or she probably would not stop. "As far as I know there isn't anything wrong with me. I travel a lot and catching prey at times is difficult. So that is where my skinniness comes from." He told her being rather calm about it. For not being around young cubs er.. juves very often he was very patient and kind. "No I probably won't go back in there. Only if I absolutely have to will I go back."magnadearel Sorry that was my bad. I deleted too much when I typed the post out on my phone.

Pallas looked at him a long moment then relaxed. She grinned, realizing she'd been so tense around the new comer and probably had made his life harder. "Accepted. I'm Pallas." As he mentioned catching prey she took a closer look at the male. Was he skinny or skinny? The juv decided he did look underfed.
"That's a good idea about now. They tend to flood a lot right now. Mama said it was cause of rains we couldn't see." She nodded proudly with the knowledge. "My semi-pride and I are living here for awhile. Would you like to come meet everyone? I'm sure the hunters will be back soon, and bring plenty to eat."

Buluu was really liking this young lioness. He'd never really considered lions as much beyond dangerous at first glance. She was actually really sweet and being young he wasn't afraid at all. "I'm Buluu. You have a lovely name Pallas." He told her with a grin.
He smiled again at her proud smile and then nodded. "That makes sense. I never saw the rain come up." He told her and then his ears fell back a bit at the invitation. Older lions... Would they hurt him? He had to weight the options but thought he could ask Pallas and get a truthful answer. She didn't seem like she would lie. "I would love to but would your mother or other pride members be upset that I was with you or try to hurt me?"magnadearel I realized how close we are to possibly finishing so thought I'd reply for you. ^^

Izzy Makani And then I got distracted. DX I'm sorry! She preened as he complimented her name. "Thank you. I like how yours sounds like the color blue. Like what's on both of us!" She gave a laugh. There was something about the gradient blue on him that she liked.
Pallas nodded seriously. "It can be very dangerous. My parents are very careful where we den." She noticed his ears go back, and wondered about it for a moment. He'd survived the flood.... oh. The young juv gave serious consideration to his question. Her mother? Maybe, particularly if she though Pallas was in trouble. Her father?
The female had to stifle a laugh. "Once you prove you're not dangerous I'm sure my mother will be fine. And daddy may try to hit on you, but he shouldn't hurt you." Her eyes twinkled with mischief. "Besides, now that I think about it we have lions, leopards, and cheetahs joining and leaving all the time."

Buluu blinked at her statement of her father hitting on him. That made him a bit nervous to think about. He wasn't that kind of guy. He would just have to let the male down gently and tell him he prefered ladies. After a moment he nodded and smiled. "I'm certainly not dangerous. I don't know if my appearance right now could be considered anything but pitiful. He told her with a chuckle as he looked down at his still dried mud covered paws. He looked grungy not dangerous that was for sure. "Well as long as your sure I won't be mauled and eaten I would love to meet everyone. Just lead the way Miss Pallas." He smiled sweetly at her. He could tell she would be someone whom he held in his heart as a friend for the rest of his life even though their time together would only be for possibly a day or two. She was certainly a little lioness that knew how to make an impression.magnadearel lol! It's ok! My notifications didn't even show me that you had replied. I was just checking my rp's for one I could reply to tonight.

"Yup! Mommy will probably tell you to eat more. I wouldn't argue and just eat more." Her eyes twinkled with laughter as she rose from her perch and hopped down. She tossed her head as he called her 'Miss Pallas' and flicked her tail happily. Eagerly she pranced toward the main area outside the den where the family gathered for meals. This was going to be fun.
