Coming of Age
The fire trials for those coming of age consist of a relatively easy walk over a ten foot bed of hot coals. The adolescents must partake in this trial, and pass, to be considered an adult.
On the 15th of every month, each Coming of Age trial will begin. Sign-ups will be held a few days prior.
The trial will be conducted thus:
A ranking adult, played by the mule, will gather with the current month's adolescents in a mini-RP. The mule will generate a number 1-4. Each adolescent will then generate a number 1-4. Those who match the number will fail, unable to make it over the coals; they may try again in the next month's trials. Those who generate any other number will pass, successfully walking over the coals.Sargas Trials
In order to prove their dedication, determination, and resourcefulness, would-be fire-keepers must undergo a much more difficult trial. They must carry and protect a piece of the sacred fire while seeking a particular item from the peeks of the mountains. The item varies, but the object remains the same: return from the mountains with the flame alive and the item retrieved. The initiate is always accompanied by a current sargas whose task is to guide and observe them. If an initiate returns successfully, he will be accepted as a true sargas.
Sargas trials will be held on an as-needed basis. You may request a trial at any time by posting the form below in this thread.
The trial will be conducted thus:
In an RP, the initiate and a current sargas will embark upon the quest to retrieve an item while keeping the fire alive. The current sargas may guide, but not assist the initiate. In the course of the RP, the current sargas will generate a number 1-3. The initiate will then generate a number 1-3. If their number matches that of the current sargas, they fail the trial and will have to try again. If they generate any other number, they pass and will be accepted as a true sargas.Sign-Up/Request Form
