Dakota had been a bit wary of coming to the mist lounge. Not that it didn't hold some of his favorite people...like Starbucks and sweet petite. Or held the most girls of the divisions besides Life right now.
He wasn't sneaking in to make a female harem out of it either since his last visit. No today he had come to make peace with a female lover ofhis best friend and soon to be wife.
Today he had come to offer himself to Cass...and not sexually. Unless she wanted that. No, FOCUS. Today he had come to offer her help. Marcus had told him about the destruction of their home they wanted together and well...While Marcus was busy as of today, Cass might not be.
So he would come, ask her if she wanted help on it...maybe talk to her and generally attempt some closeness with her. He just needed to keep his inennduo remarks down to minimum. Absolute minimum.

Cass had been leaving the Mist Lounge as Dakota was making his trip towards it, half ruffling her hair as she closed it up behind her. She'd be a good responsible child, precious. Close the door, clean up, turn all the lights off....
She couldn't help but make a slightly lop-sided expression at Dakota - not a bad one, it was just one that held a slight temperance of 'Oh god, what is he up to now?' to it along with her half-grin. It was hard to not feel that way with Dakota sometimes.
"Looking for someone? Not many of the girls are hanging around in the Lounge right now."

"Ah, well actually.." He eyed her over and leaned down to whisper into her ear...seductively of course. "I was looking for you~"
He grinned as he pulled back and tucked his hands in his pocket. "Marcus told me about the damages to your house and I was wondering if you wanted me to give you a hand?" He said sincerely before rolling his eyes upwards, "Of course I would love to make it a date you know. I'll bring dinner and wine, you bring some sexy workmen gear and such..."
Was he ashamed of hitting on his best friends wife? Or soon to be wife? Not really. It just made it more NATURAL for him too.

"......................................."
Cass's expression was that of slight disbelief. Was...was Dakota... He...what...? "Well, I'm not much of a handywoman myself, but if you think you could do better, by all means. I think I'd like to get as much work done on all of this as I could." she admitted, scratching the side of her head.
She'd just..try to ignore that Dakota was hitting on her. Because awkward.

"Good thing! I needed a day of work to busy the mind of thinking of other things." He stretched, "Last time I saw you was the promo mission, how do you feel about being a full hunter now? They still make you do crazy s**t?" The chatter never seemed to come out of the Dakota, like he couldn't help but talk.
"And don't worry, If you want...You can watch me work...shirtless...with all my dark tan lean muscle." He waggled his eyebrows again, "I'll make sure to put on a good show Cass."
Marcus would probably be disappointed if he did anything less...right? Right. (not.)

Oh, she liked her some dark tan lean muscle, just not Dakota's. So she'd probably not be watching him. She'd definitely take pictures if he had any 'special' moments, though. Because why not? Pictures were great.
"I feel like a 5'4" tall mass of no-respect-given still." Cass puffed out her chest, but obviously wasn't proud of this. "And frankly I'm probably not going to be earning it anytime soon." She knew fully well she was the island pushover - tolerating and forgiving everything. Someday, though, she was going to snap and kill everybody with a sawed off shotgun from frustration.
...Cassandra?

"Well I respect you...but its more like your my little sister." A hand reached over to ruffle her hair and a cocky grin, "But not really you know? Your Marcus's girl, so there's always going to be a way of respecting you that will be different then I am with other girls. But it kinda of sucks that other people don't see how good you are." He held out an arm for her and started to lead them to the house, oddly enough, he had planned this well. When they got to the house, the tools would be ready, piles of covered wood were prepped to be boarded and placed where Marcus had showed him.
And there would be some kinda of treats for Cass. Chocolates and sparkling...Apple Cider because they were both underage and couldn't drink. And a s**t ton of water because he was sure he needed it. Edith would be disappointed if he passed out because he couldn't keep up with his natural intake of vitamins or need for water. Or whatever.
The boss would be pissed.
"Well....I guess that would suck as well. What would you hate more, being on the missions with the rest of us trainee's...or leading a mission with trainee's?"

Cass smirked then smoothed her hair down with a pout. "Pfftt, a little sister you flirt with. I'd hate to see how much inbreeding there is in your family." she joked, elbowing him lightly before she tucked her arm into his. After all, she wasn't about to turn him down for being a gentleman. At least not if he kept his hands in proper locations.
Still, it was nice to be heading into the house to see what was going on with it. She hadn't really been allowed in it much because Marcus kept wanting to surprise (sparkle sparkle) her with stuff. Which was actually less fun because she was impatient and he knew it.
Plus learning to build seemed like a practical skill. Probably would tone her shoulders like nobody's business. Unf, sexy shoulders.
"Mmmmmm, depends on what trainees I was leading the mission for. Albeit, I think I'd much rather let somebody else stress about the particulars of a mission besides me." she massaged her forehead.

"Well okay, it seems weird but...." He waggled his eyebrows and then scowled, "Nah, None of that. One. Gross. Two. We're nomads and three. Shiva, who is my little sister is the apple of my eye. i'd beat up ANYONE who thought they were good enough for her...because nobody is dammit." he shook his fist, obviously a very overprotective big brother.
He switched though as they made their way to the house grounds and looked at the row of houses. "Gales is suppose to be around here as well but..." Since the dragon attack...who knew. Plus Gale wasn't really a bro of Dakotas....not like Marcus or Wilson. He felt bad but...at the same time everyone's houses were demolished.
He dropped their arms as they reached the house and then jerked his chin at the pile of wood and tools all set up...plus, like he mentioned before..A basket of food and bottles of water so they didn't dehydrate.
"Do you wanna take a look at first or just grab a board and start hammering away?" he asked before laughing, "I think it would do great if you had a team you knew worked well with each other but...Imagine if you had a team that didn't like each other...Like putting Marcus, Rep, Otto and Gale together? Who would your perfect team be?"

"Hm. I once again am not sure if I'd want siblings or not." she noted thoughtfully. "Sounds like a luck of the draw thing to me. Marcus and his siblings were just...opposite of friends. Then again, he had brothers... though maybe I'd be okay with a brother too.." she was trying to work out the ideal sibling in her head and so far she had a brick wall to hit her head against.
So essentially, Leon.
The house was looking..better than it had the last time she'd seen it, but Cass still found herself frowning at it. "Man. So much to be done still. I kind of think we should see what projects are closest to being done and start there, I guess. Get a lot of little things out of the way if we can." she scratched the tip of her nose.
"mmm, perfect team...does size matter?
Because right now I'd sayyyyy...hmmm. It actually super duper depends on the mission. Variety isn't always good."

"I think brothers and sister usually get along better then brother/brother or sister/sister. Then again, I only had Shiva so..." Dakota shrugged as he strapped a tool belt on and started tugging some of the wood boards out. "Well we could start with the inside...Your roof isn't all that bad and I think the outside walls are coming along. I'm here though...to do whatever you want babe." He winked.
"I'm just glad...it could've been worst if Gale and Marcus hadn't defended the houses. I don't know why we keep getting by these damn fog insaned monsters but..." Dakota's nose wrinkled as he thought of the Phoenix's, the mobs of them, the dragon...did it never end!?!?
"I don't think size would matter. I think its whoever you think would have the skills and mindset to handle being on a team and still get the mission done." Dakota blinked and then looked away, "though your right, it really depends on the mission. There would be no point in taking a sun on a recon mission...or a Moon on a offensive mission. A life into a battlefield..." He shrugged. "Your a mist though, a jack of all trades and probably one of the few hunters they can use on ANY mission."

"Gonna kind of suck if people are living out here on their own and it happens again, though." Cass confessed on the thought of the fog creatures that had made some rounds on the island - especially the town. Was that dragon even completely gone?
She didn't know anymore. It made her head burn a bit, even as she followed Dakota's lead and strapped on her own tool belt. She felt fancy in that belt. Kind of. Not as fashionably fancy as people like a certain Miss Madison was, anyways.
"Honestly, being a Mist isn't as nice as you make it sound, Dakota. I love my job and probably wouldn't change it unless Aria didn't want me anymore, but.... we're treated like fighting dogs - throw us into anything and hope we come out on top. By other divisions, I mean."
Cass tried to not seem upset by this, but her brows were firmly set in an annoyed looking expression even as she started pulling out a plank of wood herself. "Guess we should just pick a room, then. I think the movie room and the bedroom are Marcus's pet projects, so I'd leave those alone...I think there's an office down there, though."

Dakota wouldn't lie. Cass looked ADORABLE in her tool belt. Reminder, take a picture and send to Marcus.
The phone was out in a second, picture snapped and then sent to his moon brother.iStoleYurVamps Text to Marcus: Your girl with a tool belt. Adorable. Your welcome. "I agree, They did warn us though that having houses would be the more...dangerous of the two living conditions." he sighed, and adjusted his belt. "Well let's see what we can do then..." And he stalked over to the room she wanted as she talked about the mist.
"I would think that would make you more valuable. I would rather defend or protect somebody who could do more then I..." he led off and then looked at Cass. "But I see where your coming from. I think Moon can relate...in a way. Aren't we all just being thrown in and hope that we make it out alive?" He sighed, "I never thought I would be doing this when I was a kid...gone are the dreams of being a firefighter or astronaut..."
Once they made it to the office, he set the wood down and looked around. "I'll take the west wall if you want since its bigger." He pointed to the wall that had been stripped of paint and in obvious need of repairs.
"Cass have you ever thought about...transferring divisions?"

Cass might have noticed the phone and wiggled her butt in that general direction. Just saying.
"Well, if more of us were living out here I imagine it would be less of a thing...but you know.. self fulfilling prophecy or what have you." Kind of like how people didn't want to adopt black cats because they were common looking thus leaving the pound full of them. Sad, really. She would have had a million of them.
"My point is that we do all, master none. We're kind of treated as the go-betweens that we really are." But he had a point. They did all get the run until you die treatment. Her wording had come out wrong.
Up in the office, Cass made a face. "I...think I'd like that, yeah." she sighed, making vague arm gestures towards the wall that Dakota had offered to take up before looking at what else was left. She'd..take the one that needed the least work and hope she didn't just break the entire house down.
"Marcus made a lot of progress on all of this - he wanted to be an architect before he came here. Did you know that? I bet he's working out some sort of fantasy with all of this. Me? I was never going to get what I wanted." she wrung her shirt a bit. "I mean..s**t. I hope nobody here ever actually googles my name or s**t. Do you know what you'd find?" Cass made a face. "Forum posts of gossip. B-list sucks balls." Or C-list. She wasn't sure which list she was.
The suggestion about transferring divisions made her frown a bit. "I....no." she scratched her nose. "I mean, not seriously. Well, okay, yeah a little bit seriously. I thought about transferring into the Moon Division. Everybody is so gung ho into just..jumping into battle that it seems like every time we go on a mission I immediately start defending because that's what the situation needs."
