~::Mayonaka Arena - P1-Grand Prix::~ Yasogami High(?) (Path to School) - Inside the TV A strange replica of the Yasogami High School campus inside the television, travel throughout the school is much more difficult due to invisible barriers preventing easy access to other areas of the school. Though it appears similar to the actual school on the outside, running through the hallways can seem to go on forever, and just when it seems as though you're on the right track, the invisible walls block your path and redirect you to wherever the person holding the tournament wishes you to go. And all throughout the building there is a pervasive air of danger, a heavy feeling not unlike the television world's fog or the atmosphere in the Dark Hour. Innocent it may look, but dangerous it most certainly is...and with monitors and a PA system lining nearly every nook and cranny of the school, it's clear that somebody not only wants to see what's going on throughout the event...but they want everyone else to know that they are watching, too. Why? Because the ongoing event at the school is the P1-Grand Prix! A desperate fighting program pitting friend against friend in combat until the one true champion is revealed! Who is behind it and why they put together such an elaborate event is the mystery everyone is trying to solve...but only one person can reach the summit and discover the truth! It's Investigation Team versus Investigation Team, but they're not the only ones inside the TV...the only question is, which one will still be standing when it's over?!
...
This battleground is located on the road through town leading towards Yasogami High School; monitors line the street with shops and Moel Gas visible in the backdrop, and strange, shadow-like creatures line the sidewalks of the area as though they were an audience. They feel like shadows, but what they truly are is unknown...could they be shadows? Shades? Wraiths? Something more?
Win your battle and you may find out, but only the winner can move on! Will you be the victor? Quote: *~:: P1-Grand Prix [Round 1] ::~*

 Aleister Crowley
"H-heeeellppp!" A voice came from above the road, where a pale skinned man was hanging rather embarrassed by his cape from a very tall phone pole. If it had been any other place, then a number of passersby might have come and pointed in awe, and he'd have been pulled out of his horrible situation soon enough. But if his memory served, and it almost always did, they had jumped in the television and now he was on a street that, despite whatever normality it appeared to have, was very much inside the realm of people's mind or Tartarus or Babel or whatever. Just thinking that some of those gloopy figures could start crawling around his feet any minute and clawing up at him sent shivers down Crowley's spine, but at the same time he knew that he had to get going if he was going to help his friends. "Seeeetaaa! Yukkiikkoo! Anyone?" Crowley cupped his hands around his mouth again and yelled, but it looked like nothing was going to come of it. He let out another sigh, realizing that he'd just have to work on things on his own. "I guess I really don't have any choice. This cape was a gift from the Yatagarasu too. But it's not more one of a kind than myself..." Crowley reached behind him again, and tugged on the cape only for it to give with a massive rip. For most people, the fall would have come with a terrifying amount of speed and force, but Crowley kept his eyes on the ground as it approached and touched feet first, barely crouching to absorb the impact as he landed and stood up again, well attuned to feats a little above the average man. It was nothing like falling off an edge in the Akash Corridor and finding yourself backwards in time by ten or so years; he shuttered to remember the time he'd wound up in ye' oldy times.
"This place looks similar to Inaba, but all the side roads look distorted. I'm guessing the only way I can really go is dead ahead...towards that school." Crowley said with a quick observation of his surroundings, noticing the layout of the area. Similar, but if you closely inspected anything then you could tell it was warped and out of the ordinary, doors that appeared workable had no hinges and the street lamps were putting out darkness, not the opposite. Although he wanted to believe the others were fine, he knew that if anything went wrong and they were all split up like this any one of them could get hurt by being on their own. If that was true, then Crowley had to meet up with the I.Teamers right away and give them his support...or at the very least, he needed to find Soji or one of the leaders of the team to think up a means of attack. He hadn't been inside one of the television world's dungeons before, and to be honest Crowley just had no idea how dangerous they could become, in part due to the way his power had awakened. He was newer to this than he'd thought, he now realized...

The 2,000 IQ Killjoy Detective, Naoto Shirogane Naoto felt herself kneeling on the ground as she opened her eyes, finding herself....On the way to school?! "It must be some part of the TV..." she deduced immediately, knowing they had just entered mere moments ago. However, the others were nowhere to be found.... We must have somehow gotten separated in the fall...but how...? she thought, sliding out a certain Revolver of hers as she started on the way to school. School or no...Since they had gone into the Television, there were likely shadows afoot....Not to mention with the little showing from the midnight channel the previous night, she could guess she was going to have to fight. The question was, who would she fight? How would it go? What would happen to the loser? So many possible outcomes, and circumstances.... Naoto sighed deeply and pulled on her hat, continuing her walk. She had to find the others if she wanted to have any chance of piecing together what was going on. "Though....would we be forced into an confrontation when we met?" she muttered out loud, remembering the 'Fighting Program'. If so, that would be most troublesome...

Okita Shisui, the Terminal Red-Eye Samurai "Born in the wrong age, this world and I are beyond our expiration."It was different from what he expected; sure, he had known that there was something unusual going on in the Tower from what his master had told him, that he needed to investigate something which he would likely find surprising, but to find an entire school on a level inside of the Tower of Vanity was something else entirely. It was almost as if the concept of space and physics did not exist in this place despite the orderly form of Babel if one were to look up at it from the outside. This school was on only a single floor of the Tower, and yet it was more than three stories high in and of itself, and then when you considered the club room, the school yard, the path leading down to the non-existent town, it was quite a lot to take in all at once. Of course, he found himself on that path the same as a few others, but his mission was more than to simply stay in one place until the event concluded. His job was to observe, to take in as much data about the event, the people behind it, the fighters who had been chosen to participate in it from both the Investigation Team, the Messiahs, and anyone else who might show up, and of course, he was to gauge the strength of their common enemies on his own if the opportunity to cross blades with any of them should arise. Somehow, of course, he suspected that his master knew there would be call to fight amongst them, and the ramblings of the bear on the monitor towards a girl in a blue hat...the first person that he had encountered since entering the level...were an indication that his master's secret intentions were grounded in accurate foresight. He had never met her personally, but he knew the person standing not far from him right now. She was a member of the team lead by the man who had beaten his master, and who had beaten his rival in the sword, the mechanical man Raiden...the member of the Messengers that he had sworn to surpass in the way of the sword and drew close, so very close to...but could not overcome. Yes, this girl was on the side of the man who could best even him, and she was a gun-wielder, one who discarded the weaponry of the old guard and used her wits as her primary strength in combat. She was not a foe to be underestimated, but she was a foe.
He heard the words 'only the winner may advance', and he could piece together from the information given what this event truly consisted of...combat, one-on-one, pitting friend against friend and foe against friend and so on. He couldn't guess the motivation behind it just yet, but he could guess the mechanics. This girl and he would have to fight. And only the winner would move on, would survive...his hand rested on the sheath of his blade as he walked with measured steps forward, coughing once to get the detective's attention...no, wait, that was just a natural cough. He hoped that didn't happen again while they were fighting...and he cursed his body silently that the thought should even cross his mind.
"Your guess is accurate. It seems neither of us will be advancing anywhere until the other is defeated," the samurai spoke from a little further down the path, an invisible wall knocked upon by his knuckles on his free hand before he looked over at her with brilliant green eyes and a dispassionate expression, "My name is Okita Shisui, servant of the Master Hetero. Judging by the circumstance, I have been selected to duel you in the opening stage of this contest." While it would have been easy for him to conceal his identity or skip the formalities with his opponent, he hadn't been directly told to do either, and it was only proper to introduce yourself to someone you were about to be fighting, wasn't it? He kept true to his code, whatever the cost, after all. And while he felt pity for this girl to be set against him so early, his thumb pushed at the guard on his blade and clicked it out of the sheath ever-so-slightly nonetheless, without any hesitation. "Forgive me, for I know you would prefer to converse and investigate your situation more before we fight. And I bear you no personal grudge, Naoto Shirogane of the Investigation Team. However," he brought his hand to clutch the hilt of his weapon and his demeanor grew suddenly tense and serious, the few meters between them not enough to make it seem any less than as if he were right upon her, bearing down upon her, "My mission includes a mandate to observe the progression of your skills. Therefore, I ask that you do not hesitate, and attack me with all that you have. ...If you are alive when our match concludes, may we speak more then."
Polite but terrifying, there was no malice but also no forgiveness or hesitation in this man. He stood before her with the full intention to expend whatever it took to defeat her, and for there was no indication he had any less than the skill to do just that. His demeanor, however, was not unfamiliar...at least not to anybody with a taste for film, manga, or even Japanese history. His attitude, and his words, were not unlike that of a samurai of old...benevolent, determined, and loyal to the commands of his master, no matter how wrong they might have been. To him, this was simply a duty that he must accept. And the whole of his spirit, wrong or right, would be spent to ensure that it was done.
She had better be ready...

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ "Geez.. Even on a mission I can't get away from that damn school." Sano growled as he walked down the path. According to that ugly bear there was a Prix going on and that meant fighting. Which he had no problem doing, he might even get to kill a member of the Investigation Team. As he continued down the path he saw someone ahead. "Tsh.. My first opponent is the nurse from school? I guess they even let old men join that pathetic team." The rattle of chains echoed as he brought out his weapon, he would've attacked right away but tournaments like this always have those pesky rules.. Right? "You better make this worth my time, Old Man." Aleister Crowley
"Wait, I don't mean you any harm." Crowley got the sense that his words weren't going to get through to the kid from the look in his eyes, but he didn't want to hurt anyone. When the tingling sensation in the back of his neck start to creep up though, telling him that there was a Shadow inside of Sano, and that he should do something about it. It was less like he was thinking this himself, however, and more like his inner self was urging him to deal with it quickly regardless of his own feelings on the matter. It was a sensation though that he was willing to agree with though since it was warning him that there was an enemy nearby. Shadows weren't to be taken lightly, so if this man before him was possessed or working with them, then he would have to be careful to extract and defeat the creature without getting too badly wounded himself. "Are you a Messiah...or one of those Messengers? I don't mean to be rude, but this place isn't safe for normal people." His fingers curled up into fists, but as they opened again he felt claws tingling for the sensation of drawing black blood, proving to him that there was a Shadow before him. "Either way, I'll have to defeat you if we're going to find the others. Please don't hold it against me, but if I can find Soji maybe we can figure out away to purify you of that darkness or something. I don't think there's anyone he could keep from setting back on a straight path." They were the confident words of someone who had lived for quite a long time, and at the same time knew that some people had a special air about them that said they could help you, regardless of circumstances. Crowley got the feeling that anyone who spent long enough around Soji might find the light again, so all he had to do was make sure that this kid didn't give in before then. Crowley raised his hand and squeezed the glowing blue card, causing his Persona to appear and release a wave of negative energy, just to help Sano reconsider before he leaped at Crowley rashly... The 2,000 IQ Killjoy Detective, Naoto Shirogane Naoto stood at the ready at the cough, holding her gun to the emerging figure warily. Though Teddie's voice called out to them about having to fight...and told them only the winner could move on, Naoto never turned her attention away from the figure. She knew this was the Television world...or Babel, and the way the person casually introduced himself as a servant of Hetero.... "It seems that is the case." she called, acknowledging that they were in fact about to fight. He...didn't hold a grudge against them, but wanted to see what they could do? Naoto cringed a bit at this, before pulling on her hat. "Yes, I would prefer to have all the facts first..and I have many questions I would like to ask you, Shisui-san, but.." She started, closing her eyes for a moment as Yamato Takeru came to her, and her form shifted into that of her Persona. "If I have to strike you down with everything I am capable of First, then so be it."
The barrel of her Gun started to glow a bit, before she fired off an Opening Shot at the samurai-like figure, knowing this shot to be less powerful than some of her other strikes, but still dangerous in it's own right. She wasn't sure about the difference in power between them, but if he could talk about her and challenge her so casually....Then it was likely not going to be enough to fell him in one blow. I must give it everything I have.. she thought, waiting for the resulting energy to clear up. If I let my guard down for an instant, that sword might just bisect me. Though, hopefully...he wasn't that fast... Okita Shisui, the Terminal Red-Eye Samurai "Born in the wrong age, this world and I are beyond our expiration."He has said there was no grudge between he and this girl, and while others in his group may have said the same for deception or simply as an outright lie, there was no dishonesty in this person's eyes. His apology sounded quite sincere, even as he gripped his weapon in anticipation of the fight to come, and when Naoto stood and began her transformation, rather than getting angry or tense the man's head merely bowed in acknowledgment of her determination and his knees bent in preparation. They did not need to speak to fight, and he did not need to share with her his reasons right now. Each of them had their own reasons for fighting, for needing to progress in this Tournament, and their own oaths that they had taken to themselves, to their masters, whatever it might have been. It was true that he held no grudge...but nonetheless, he would defeat her here and move forward with the mission that his Master had given him. And there was no dishonesty in his gaze as he thought of that either, even if there was a hint of pity, or perhaps sadness? Even if this girl bore a heart like a warrior herself, she was still a child before a dying man like himself. It was distasteful...but it was also his duty. And as his body shifted into its stance he decided that the least he could do was allow her the first move, which she took without hesitation in the squeezing of a trigger and a Starlight shot aimed straight for his chest.
"Your draw is fast!" the samurai called out in appreciation, even as a simple backstep and draw of his blade struck the magic aimed in his direction and with that one motion cast the bullet far to the side of him where it impacted the sidewalk with a sizzling crack. He could feel the impact shaking his body, damage nonetheless inflicted in spite of his skilled parry, and even the feeling of his nature changing did not go unnoticed, adding to his appreciation for the skill that he had narrowly avoided being shot straight through by. However...his blade fully drawn and at his side, a small stream of smoke trickling into the sky away from it, his determined green eyes never left the Killjoy Detective...and the cold confidence within them was enough to send a chill down even the hardest of man's spine. "I admire your courage to attack first and maintain your composure. Grown men have fallen more easily, against me," another compliment was shared, not because he was trying to throw her off-guard, but merely an acknowledgment of her as an opponent. She was good, and he could tell already that she was not afraid, even though she should be. He could admire that. Even if it wouldn't save her. "Prepare yourself," he spoke those words and then turned his wrist so that the sharp edge of the blade would face her, a power surging through his body in that moment to sharpen his strength and his defenses, his reflexes and his speed...he held back from attacking her in that moment not out of fear, but because he was biding his time and waiting for the right moment, the right opening. Keeping within a moderate range with her was the best he could do and still maintain his ability to avoid that gun, but with his in-step it was more than enough.
He only had to hold her off a little longer...and then the opening would appear. And his blade would strike true...Quote: Heat Riser - Raise Strength, Defense, and Accuracy/Speed, 3 turns. [Target: Okita]

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Sano's eyes narrowed to a hateful glare as Crowley spoke to him, saying that Soji could purify him.. Put him on the right path. "Purify me?.. Put me on the right path? What kind of idiot do you think I am!? I don't want his help!" He snapped before stopping to pull back the reigns on his temper, remembering that he had to keep a clear mind to fight. His rage flickered up again when he felt something lower his strength and other such things. Perhaps a little payback was inorder but in a different fashion. "Don't you think this is sad? An adult like you looking up to a child? You must be pretty pathetic to depend on someone like him.. Calling out for help for high school students. Well I'll put you out of your misery. I'll show you the might of Shadows!" The blue tarot card floated before Sano but was soon shattered as he sliced through it with his pitch black kusarigama. The 2,000 IQ Killjoy Detective, Naoto Shirogane Naoto scowled a bit as her shot was deflected, Okita throwing out several compliments to her, and giving her a warning for what was to come. "I'm Not just Fast!" Naoto called, readying her rifle yet again as it glew. However, unlike before, it kept glowing after she kept charging, before she fired off another shot. As this one moved, it easily dwarfed the previous spell in it's sheer raw power of Almighty Energy. She was steadily increasing the strength of her attacks, and testing the power of Okita. He already proved himself a skilled enough swordsman to catch her first strike, mid-shot, but how long could he keep up? How much abuse could he take? And...what did he have planned for her? I really hope this is enough.. she thought to herself, silently frowning at her own hopefulness. Things with this sort of person were never easy...

Okita Shisui, the Terminal Red-Eye Samurai "Born in the wrong age, this world and I are beyond our expiration."It had perhaps been something of a gamble not to try and dodge the previous attack, parrying it instead with his sword, and in a way he had surely lost that gamble with the damage that he had taken from it and the strange changes in his aura that it had caused. However, to his fortune he didn't feel much different than before, and while he was impressed with the girl detective's ability to draw fast, to attack unflinchingly, and to hit with considerable power, he had seen nothing yet that gave him reason to pause. Her expressions encouraged him further, a look of surprise and displeasure at the work of his sword, and there was a feeling of discontent at her own follow-up attack, the look on her face telling him that she was already beginning to question whether or not she had the firepower to take him down. Blue power descended upon him just then, a mass greater but more straightforward than the surprising gunshot from before, and this time he knew that trying to swat it away with his sword would be a useless endeavor. Something this large and powerful and intangible could not be simply parried, so it was with swift reflexes that he made the instantaneous decision to throw his body into a sidelong leap, the force of the attack still enough to slam into his side after impacting the ground and toss him violently towards the invisible barrier at the side of the road. His ribs shuddered a bit under the impact, but he landed on his feet nonetheless and skidded to a halt, resetting instantly into that familiar stance that he had taken before, letting another power course through his body to give strength to what would come thereafter. He couldn't simply stand still anymore while she threw out steadily-increasing, powerful attacks. He might have an advantage in level and skill against this girl, but one could only afford to be patient against a worthwhile and clever opponent for so long before they unraveled you...
The time to be patient was over.
"I don't recall inferring you were lacking in anything," the samurai answered her shout, perhaps a bit late because of his half-successful dodge and reset, but even as his sword came to the ready and he spoke to her he seemed not to be verbally sparring with her so much as holding a conversation...as if this sort of interaction were normal to him. As if this were the place where he felt most comfortable in all the world. In battle...against a foe he could respect and admire. "You're increasing the power of your attacks until you find a level that affects me; you're staying at a distance to avoid the range of my sword. No, you're not just fast...you're clever, and your power is considerable as well, Naoto Shirogane," Okita spoke as he slid into a battle stance, ready to answer her...but as he did, there was a flash to his eye, a readiness that had not been there before, as though now he were just about to become serious, "However, you're nearing your limits in both speed and power already. Whereas I...am only just beginning." Quote: Power Charge - 2.5x Physical Power for next attack. [Target: Okita]

 Aleister Crowley
"When you've lived long enough, you'll realize age has nothing to do with it. When you find someone you can really rely on, even turning your life around isn't impossible. Or a request for a Thoth with Mind Charge." Crowley murmured from his memories, trying to teach Sano while on the same time reflecting on his own journey. Yes, he had made quite a few outlandish requests of Raidou the 14th, but in return he'd received some things that greatly furthered his research, even when he thought that it would be impossible to move forward anymore at the rate he'd been going. And now he could see that same spark in Soji, turning the impossible possible, so of course he'd support the youth with whatever tools he had. "You ignorant little- I'm not sure which one's the girl! You, or that little peach Nix. Why don't I bleed her dry next?" Words that any of his friends would have realize in an instant weren't Crowley's were thrown towards Sano, taunting him despite the fact the fighter hadn't acting anywhere similar before. "I've got to create an opening..." Crowley said worriedly as he was knocked backwards by the Seal Bomb, hitting the telephone pole he'd been on top of before and cracking the wood. As it fell (towards Sano), Crowley lifted his hand, crushing the blue card and sending another wave of virulent energy through Sano's body, which by now would start to take a very serious toll. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Sano was just about done listening to Crowley ramble on as if he knew him. Though what the old man said next was different from his previous words. "You really are an idiot.. It's clear that Nix is the girl and." A dark smirk came to his lips as he kept his glare. "Go ahead and bleed that worthless little thing.." He felt his rage come back to haunt him when the man had the nerve to lower his energy again. If he wanted to win this fight he needed to strike him fast before he ran out of steam.
Sano jumped out of the way of the telephone pole and chuckled, thinking of just the thing. Shadows and darkness surrounded him for a moment before it was suddenly blown away by a force of some kind. The boy that was standing there was completely different, like he was a creature instead. His arms here hidden and bound by thick leather straps but not for long. The sounds of cracking and snaps echoed through the path as he forced his arms apart, ripping the bindings asunder. His arms were covered in the same red scales as his new additions and had long claws taking the place of his usual nails. "Die.." Sano held out his hand and launched fire towards Crowley, though it was weakened considerably by his magic it would still hurt a bit at least.. Or so he hoped. Aleister Crowley
"Sis~ter~ com~plex~" Crowley raised his hand and his Persona appeared again, the fire crashing against it and lashing around Crowley. It was hot, but it certainly lacked some of the punch of his previous attack, and it was much weaker than what he was use to. Even so, he could tell that Sano was trying his hardest. "You should just give up and leave it to the adults. Don't you hate the authorities because you're just a weak little ba~by?" Crowley waved his hand before him, and his card appeared again, his claws ripping through it violently for his Persona to appear a second time, sending a wave of violent red energy through his body. The energy seemed to pulse off his body in waves that warned Sano he was in big trouble, and Crowley's hair was literally standing on end, eyes narrowed in a demonic grin. "You thought you'd grown up, hadn't you? That you were in control? But you're still just as weak as ever. It's nap time for the kiddies!" A chuckle shook Sano's mind, taunting him into making a mistake. Quote: Might Call: Makes the next physical attack automatically Critical.

The 2,000 IQ Killjoy Detective, Naoto Shirogane Again, Naoto cringed as her attack struck at Okita, the samurai-like man endured it simply...and confidently. Naoto frowned as he analyzed her technique, how she was gradually getting stronger in her assaults. I should have started smaller.. she thought quietly, before hearing him talk about how he was just beginning to showcase his power. She bit her lip at this, wanting to snap back at him, but figuring words would be useless in this scenario. Then I'll have to use...THAT. she thought, closing her eyes for a moment to Focus her Magical energy, Her Magical Potiential reaching it's Apex as she opened her eyes again, pointing at Okita. If this doesn't faze him...Nothing will. Naoto thought, before letting loose a positively MASSIVE surge of energy that dwarfed even the Megidoloan she'd used a few moments ago. It was on a whole different level than her last Spell...and if he stood up to this still.... Then she just might have to admit defeat. Quote: Naoto: Starring Inferno Naoto charges her magic to its absolute maximum (Double Mind Charge) and then unleashes an incredible column of Almighty Magic for Severe Damage to fall enemies. Drains magic greatly (MP must be restored after each use).
