The sacs had been here now for... How long? Weight of our Heart wasn't quite sure. He had stayed out of sheer curiosity to watch over his first clutch of eggs. It didn't bother him too much, he did need a break from his travels. But now he was in a dryer part of the swamp. The sacs quivered with the young one's kicks as they tumbled through their dream. What was in store for these little ones? Heart could only assume that they would be healthy and full of energy when they emerged so it pained him to leave to scavenge for food. He had no time to try and hunt, not being sure when they would breath their first breath of fresh air and be so vulnerable to the world.

Afterlife twittered high up on a branch, enjoying the high sun and flying about every so often. He was their gaurdian when Heart was away and Heart made sure he knew his simple duity. A loud chirp would ring out from the bird if anything were to go amiss, so with that, he left the sacs and went to gather food for himself and his children. Afterlife still sang sweetly around the sacs, perching on alternating branches from up high to down low.

Wiggling. She was struggling. A leg stretched here, her neck twisting there. Soon, it seemed the sack was weakening, and before she knew it, Feather-Light Heart tumbled out into the grass. It was cold out here.

Next to wriggle from her dream was Tipping the Balance. After her sister, she tumbled from her sac, breathing deep her first breath. Eyes still closed but ears slightly perked she took in the new smells.

Afterlife chirped in alarm and continued on trying to alert the buck who order him to watch these sacs that were now young ones moving around.
It took Heart a moment, but as soon as the alarmed chirps caught his ears, he speed off back in the direction of his clutch. His offspring had emerged. The precious things were waiting out in the cold to be greeted. "There, there young ones..." He moved over to nuzzle the dark doe first. "All is well. I'm here." He nuzzled he golden one next. Afterlife calmed down some, coming to rest on Heart's horn and sing a sweet melody to the babies.

There was a soft squeal from the dark child. As her father nosed her, she rolled over, limbs flailing, her back coming to rest against that of her sister. Another squeak and the filly bumped her nose around, sniffing at her sister.

Familiar. Her scent was familiar, as was that of their father's. She struggled to open one eye, but that was too much effort, so in stead she just laid there, legs flailing, nose twitching.

Tipping the Balance's eyes opened weakly as her sister bumped into her. It was suck a shock! But she couldn't see a thing. First, there was her... Father? Now her sister was flailing about. She took in the scents around her. There was the two she first came into contact with and... an earthy scent. She mewled a bit at her flailing sister, then stopped, listening to the bird's melody.

Heart watched as the dark one flailed about, bumping into her sister causing her to make noise. He had no real experience with children, so why had he stayed? The curiosity must have been overwhelming. There was nothing much he could do now until they were strong enough to open their eyes and walk around. "Be calm my children..." He tried to roll the dark foal over into a comfortable position.

At the touch of their father, Feather stopped flailing, if only out of curiosity. She flopped over with the gently nuzzling before she bumped her nose against her father and licked his nose. It was like her world had suddenly exploded! The sounds she had heard in her sack were much louder. She could feel warmth of her parent and sibling, the earth, the sunlight.

Hearing the bird singing, she tipped her head up and slowly opened her eyes to the bright, blinding light of day, trying to find the source of the chirping.
