Demon looked out over the world he had claimed for his own. The cold rock face of the mountain was a welcome sight, broken only by the tree line. In many ways it made him feel empowered. He had Cherish back, the simple mare currently sleeping in his cave, no one would ever steal her again or anything else that was his... of that he was sure. His name and reputation had grown as of late; his sights set on higher goals. He wanted to be acknowledged as the strongest of his kind. The red moon of Kalona was due to glow in the sky, setting the world into a red glow of blood. How fitting for their kind to honour such a moon. He wanted to do something in honour for Kalona.... a ritual perhaps, slaughter a few unicorns or maybe something bigger and more of a challenge, a skinwalker perhaps. He had a few eves to contemplate it. A grin spread across his features, and as with most his extended fangs made it seem more like a snarl. Glowing eyes flashed towards the sky just as he spied something in the sky. He didn't fear whatever approached, no, if anything he longed for his next challenge. Demon was almost disappointed when he recognised the brown and black wings of his Bat companion, Hell. Still it meant part of his plan had been put into place. "Find it?" He asked, as the bat settled upon the horns on his head. Hell shook his head, only later realising that Demon couldn't see the action. "Not yet my Lord.... soon.... I will not fail you.""You better not Hell, you better not." Demon would not accept failure in this.

She had heard of him, perhaps all her life. He was the kind they told stories about--stories worth hearing. He was something to look up to in her breed and in her beliefs. He was strong and she had respected, almost idolized him for as long as she could remember. This long journey might seem foolish to some, but to Morsmordre it was calculated and well-thought out. She would pledge her allegiance, offer herself to whatever plans he was working on. He was always working on plans. She wanted him to know that she was faithful despite being an aberration without wings. One glaring kalona flaw...and perhaps it would ruin her chance to help the great Demon... She hoped not. She hoped that he could see her worth and value, even if her mother had not been so pure of blood. The purity of her anger, of her rage--of her utmost want to be pure---that could mean something, couldn't it? It was not long now, before she entered his territory.

"Fly Hell. Find it.... do not fail me." No, Demon would have what he wanted, and nothing would stand in his way. Barter, fight, take... whatever it took he would do it. "Yes m'lord!" Hell chirped before taking off from Demon's horns and flying into the sky once more. He was tired of this near constant flying, but knew he would be rewarded with rest and more should he be successful. He had to be successful. Death was his only other option. For a moment he watched Hell fly off, at least until he got bored, then he set off down the mountain. The proud dragon-kalona knew every inch of the land he had claimed as his own. Knew that the wolf pack now claimed the forest mostly as their own, not that they dared try to stop Demon from hunting within it. A truce of sorts had appeared, and while they remained useful to him he would keep them around. Interesting creatures that they were. A scent carried on the wind towards him and he paused. It wasn't one he recognised, wasn't one that he could determine past.... female. Mares tended to hold a different scent, Demon's theory was that it had something to do with their ability to reproduce that had something to do with it... either way... intruders where not welcome here, female or not. Wasting no time he changed direction and stalked towards the scent, not willing to let himself be revealed until he was ready. The source of the new scent made no effort to hide herself, making it easy, almost too easy, for Demon to find her. His eyes lazily looked across her form... kalona tail... horns.... interesting. Unlike his father he didn't believe that wings meant everything, just look at the mare he had taken for his own, she was neither pure kalona or winged, something that would likely cause his father to despise her... perhaps that was part of the reason he kept her. Anything that got under his fathers skin was ok with Demon. Demon didn't wait longer before he appeared from between two trees he had been using as shelter within the forest that surrounded his mountain. He quirked a brow, "My my, what has wandered into my territory..... little rabbit perhaps you should turn back before you bite off more than you could chew." Cowardice was something Demon hated, he was man enough to appreciate courage in whatever form it took. Rhea had had courage, Cherish never showed him fear (no, to her he was a God).... yes, Demon could appreciate courage, cowardice wasn't worth his time.

She could hear him coming before he appeared. She could smell the masculine smell, the distinct tinge that made her know he was kalona. She always thought it was some superiority in the blood that became scent. Sometimes, she wondered if only she could smell it.
The coarse words flew from his mouth, "little rabbit". If any other had said those words, she'd take offense--but to him, she was a little rabbit. Her eyes drank in his brown coat, the ribbons that draped around him, the snarl, and his horns. Yes, this was he whom she had been looking for. This was the great Demon.
She bowed her head slightly, baring her neck to him as a sign of submissiveness that she was not use to showing. He was over her, and she was letting him see that she knew it and understood it. "I came to see you," she spoke boldly then halted. She didn't want to say or do too much to make him angry.
"I came to meet you Demon, if you would have me. I am Morsmordre, and I offer myself to the purity of your cause."

Demon quirked a brow as he watched her show him his neck... an obvious show of submission, something he had to admit he hadn't expected; and while he couldn't say he hated it Demon had always favoured strength... it was why he grinned when she spoke boldly to him. Yes, this creature had a backbone... she was simply trying to please him... for some reason. Demon didn't trust easily, it was one of the things that kept him alive for so long, and he had to wonder what she wanted. His eyes scanned her body again. She was in part kalona, simply lacking the wings. It was a good job it was him she sought and not his father... Gishoni had never been one to suffer the wingless, however Demon cared nought for that. In fact he had long ago accepted that strength did not always stay within the kalona breed.... though few creatures of any breed had ever really overly impressed Demon. Would this mare, this Morsmordre, be any different? Perhaps, but only time would tell him that. "Have you." He said bluntly, his glowing white eyes looking straight at her, as if they could look straight through her and to her heart, her soul, the stuff that made up the true beast within. "Well, little rabbit.... what is it you want from me?" He raised a brow as he spoke, making it obvious that he suspected she had her own agenda. Not a bad thing... Demon would actually be worried if she claimed she didn't. His ears heard Hell's wings beating in the sky nearby.... to the left..... four tree's over... if he wasn't mistaken. Hell had found something that he believed would fit in with what Demon wanted.... a large piece of drift wood to be used as an alter. Hell didn't believe in Kalona like Demon did, but he would be a fool to ignore that his master did.... no, he would never tell his master how he felt about some faceless God. As far as he was concerned, Demon was his God.
Perching in a tree near by Hell watched as Demon spoke to some other creature. He would wait. Only a fool distracted Demon, and he didn't fancy a new scar to add to his collection.Nyx Queen of Darkness Tag hun. Sorry, Jasper has been in hospital so I have been away.

Morsmorde stayed there with her neck bared to him. For a moment, he didn't speak. He just stood there, as if contemplating her. She felt uneasy with her neck bared, she wasn't used to such a show of submission to anyone, let alone someone she respected. Her desire was to react violently, to show him that she was worthy--that she was violent, that she would by any means necessary do what she had to do. However, she had decided that submission might be the bigger gamble, and the greater reward. His voice cut into her, and she leaned back and met his eyes. "I want to be counted. I want to be in your reckoning, I want to help purge this world and help you do what you need to do, whatever you need." She paused, shifting her feet. "I am to prepare for the coming of my first Master. Until then, I am supposed to help you, he will likely join you." Her words felt jumbled, she was struggling to say the right thing. "I believe as you do," her voice was feverent.

"The purity of my cause, you say?" He teased lightly, trying to decide how much to reveal, if anything, to this strange mare. She had a very different quality to his Cherish, she held a lethal aura around her that surprisingly intrigued him. "You believe?" An easy thing to say, but much harder to prove. It was in the blood after all, literally. Like all things important it couldn't be faked. "A blood offering." He finally declared after weighing up his options, he had already been considering a sacrifice but now he was going to make it so much more than that. "Since you have sought me out, I imagine you have heard of my magic.. no?" He was guessing of course, but he didn't imagine he was too far off the mark. "It is time to thank Kalona for the power gifted... what do you know of ritual little rabbit? What do you know of the fire that burns within all of our kind? Even you I imagine can wield this weapon if you are worthy."With a single heavy step he got closer, sniffing at her and almost, almost licking her neck as a sign of possession. He didn't though, left things as they were... for now at least... but he wanted the threat of his actions to be understood also. He could and would kill her, he could and would get close to her weak points if he so desired... and she would not be able to stop him. With a huff he looked to the sky. "Soon the moon will glow red, the blood of all those killed in his name, every drop, will glow in the sky like a tempting cake." He licked his lips, running his tongue over his elongated fangs as he considered things once more. He thought about things more these days, not so hot headed and ready to simply act and react. The impulse was still there though, simply tempered by his own control. Control strangled within an inch of it's life. "Little rabbit." He mused, turning away to glance over his kingdom once more. "Come. We have a sacrifice to find and slaughter." He grinned, with the two of them they would have to go after something large and fierce, something worthy of two kalona's working together, not just any old creature would do. Hell decided he would accompany them... would now be the right time to mention what he had found? He couldn't bring it back on his own... but to lose it all together would be as bad as keeping something from Demon. He didn't fancy being punished today.
"Master." He hissed, flying towards him and perching lightly on the others back. "I believe I have found what you seek...." He knew he didn't need to say more.Demon was a little peeved that he had been interrupted but the news made him grin. "Good. Very good. We shall set up the alter before we hunt then. A good skull or three from our kills can be cleaned and added later." He mused out loud. Already plans formed and swirled in his head. Oh... this would be a good Blood moon.
