The sun was beating down on the earth as the day was approaching noon and getting warmer. Most people stayed inside their houses until this period passed by, but if someone had a plan, they couldn't just cancel because of the heat, right? Candice had told Raven that she wanted to meet at the dog park, partly because she wanted Cotton to make more friends as well as the fact that Candice missed Raven and well... Wanted someone to talk to.
Candice had been upset when first getting out of the Surrounding, but for the most part, she was over it. Whatever surrounded those people she had tried to avoid them for the most part. Sometimes she'd break down and want to talk to them, but overall, it was part of her life that she didn't want to remember. That was, until she couldn't forget it.
She felt for the Henshin pen that now sit in the pocket of her jacket. Randomly, she'd feel for it just to make sure it was still there. Candice had an odd attachment to it besides the fact that well, she honestly didn't want to be tied to the horrible memory of dying. It was hard to accept that she was now a part of it. Her mind told her that she couldn't tell Raven, but maybe... Asking her about how she felt about everything would give Candice piece of mind?
Was she doing something good? Or was it bad? Was it something she should just accept? How would Raven feel if she was tied down to all of this?
Candice just sighed and sat back against the bench. She was lucky to have snagged a large enough spot under the tree so that both her and Raven could enjoy the shade while Cotton was playing with the other dogs. "Now.... Where's Raven?"

Candice had called, and Raven was late. She had been working on some homework, trying to finish up an essay that was due the following Monday, and had completely missed the time. She was almost there though, sweating like a pig as she ran up to Candice, giving a smile.
“Sorry! I’m so sorry. I’m late, I’m late, but I’m here now!” She flopped next to the other blonde girl and tried to catch her breath, grinning. Though…
The grin faded as one of the stupidest realizations she had ever had hit her. She had forgotten her dog. This was a dog park…clearly…the invitation was for the both of them, and now she had no dog to speak of. Oh she was a terrible person now.
Well, no use bringing that fact up, no she clearly just had to play it cool so Candice didn’t even realize what she had forgotten. “So, how have you been? I feel like I haven’t seen you in months. Actually…I don’t think I have seen you in months. What’s been going on? I’ve really missed you!”
And she had. It seemed like she had been cutting most of her friends out of her life save for her Dark Mirror friends…Jett was pretty much the only person she saw nowadays, and that wasn’t…good for having a healthy relationship. She couldn’t just spend all of her time with one person. She had to start branching out again…with people other than the ones she was fighting as she was Lesath.

Candice noticed Raven walking towards her and waved before she sat down on the bench as well. "It's okay! I'm glad to see you again." She gave her friend a tight hug before sitting with her back to the bench again. "You must be really busy, huh?"
She hadn't called Cotton over, but the little dog decided to come over on her own. Cotton gave Candice a lick on the hand and then proceeded to the new face, where something seemed to attract Cotton to Raven. "Cotton seems to really like you!"
"I've been good," Candice couldn't help but think 'for the most part' in her head. "Been mostly busy with school, then there's Cotton. I've missed spending time with you too!"
"And my new 'upgrade'..." Candice knew inside her mind that the real reason why she wanted to talk to Raven so much was to ask about what she thought about the two opposing 'good' and 'evil' sides in their city. They were both survivors. Candice had gotten over the Surrounding for the most part, but then everything seemed to hit her again since she became TianGuan. There was this desire in her to tell Raven about her alter-ego, but at the same time, Candice sensed that it wasn't a good idea.
She paused for a little bit but then continued on. "My life seems kind of busy yet... Not at the same time. There's been times where I feel like my head is going to explode because of everything that's happening around me, and then there are other days where..." Candice didn't really want to say it so she tried to brush it off.
"How has life been treating you, Raven?"

Raven blinked, returning the hug, then sitting down next to her, giving a little yelp as the dog jumped on her, though laughed and snuggled the fluffy little thing. “Oh my. She’s adorable.”
When the blonde had finally managed to get the dog off of her, she ran her fingers through the fluffy white fur. “That’s good. I’ve really missed you too. We should hang out more often…and I’ll bring my dog next time. You know, since I should have brought her today. I’m just a dummy sometimes. “ She sighed, flopping against the back of the bench, just listening to Candice go on her little rant. Well…she did know how that was. Between school and going out and about as Lesath, she knew just how it felt to be terribly busy and feel absolutely frustrated to the point of just exploding…That was just how life was.
At least Candice didn’t have any secret life that she had to deal with on top of everything…or at least Raven hoped that she didn’t.
“Life’s been okay. Tiring, I think. School is annoying, essays can just go die in a fire…but…apart from that, things are perfectly awesome.”

"Thank you! I think she thanks you too," Candice said with a laugh.
Cotton was loving the attention. She loved the fact that she was outside alongside other dogs as well as getting attention from someone new. Sometimes it would seem like Cotton would make a bad guard dog since she sought attention from anyone and everyone, but was protective when it came to Candice.
Candice smiled a the idea of meeting another dog. "I'd love to meet your dog! Cotton always needs more friends too." The ideas eased her insides just a bit, but there was still so much gnawing at her. So many things that she wanted to blab to Raven but couldn't. "Ugh... I really need to find someone to talk to about all these 'Order' and 'Chaos' things..."
"I'm glad to hear you're doing well though!" Candice paused and there was a moment of silence between the two of them. It wasn't until Candice blurted out the question that she noticed she spoke. "What are your views on the 'magical' people fighting in our city at night? I mean, I know we lived through it at the Surrounding, but..."
Candice knew that she wouldn't be able to tell Raven about her being one of them so went on another route. "I've been attacked twice now by those 'youma' things, and has been rescued twice both times by what the news says as a 'bad' guy. I... Don't know what to think anymore!"
