Rolling to see who will go first 1 Elis, Jupiter 2 Valhalla, Jupiter Feel free to rp as usual randomizing betweeen 1 and 3 for each post, or to pre roll the results and go back and fill the posts in after the fact.Rolling reference for ease* For every post in a battle thread make sure you randomize between 1 and 3. The number you get will determine what happened during that turn. 1 - Uh oh, looks like you missed this time! 2 - Yay a hit! Your opponent should subtract 1 hp in their next post. 3 - Excellent hit! Your opponent should subtract 2 hp in their next post. * Keep track of your HP on the top of each post you make please! When someone reaches zero the battle is over. (You can post once or twice more if you'd really like the two to wish each other well or what not) If the dice decide to be jerks and the battle just keeps going on and on and on I may step in and ask for you guys to roll dice for some outside event to help out. Hopefully it won't be necessary

Valhalla wasn't particularly pleased that he was fighting against another Jupiter knight twice in a row. He would have preferred to let this kid get kicked out by some others' knight, rather than one of his own planet.
Stepping into the ring, the knight frowned at the kid's luck. Sure, he could always try and go easy on him, but that would just be an insult.
"Elis, right?" he asked to confirm. It wasn't that he wasn't good with names... it was the fact that he knew way too many people from all over the universe to be able to easily remember every last one. "Don't expect an easy fight." Might as well warn him.
As soon as the bell rang, Valhalla launched himself at the Page, grabbing for an arm in an attempt to push him back and pin him down.

Of all the people he could have faced in the second round, it had to be Valhalla.
That was just his luck, of course. Actually, his luck had served him pretty well in the first round. He was pretty sure he hadn’t gotten here due to skill, though now he felt his fortunes quickly fading as he stood facing his opponent and waited for the match to begin. Any moment now he’d see his life flash before his eyes, he was sure. There was no way he was going to be getting out of this unharmed. Honestly, he’d be grateful just to get out of it alive.
Alright, so maybe he was being overdramatic, but this was Valhalla. Dude was a freaking Knight! And not like “Oh, hi, I’m a knight, Page of Jupiter,” but a legitimate Knight. Capital K and everything.
Elis gave a numb nod when he thought he might have heard Valhalla questioning his name. The fact that he even bothered to remember what it was surprised him a bit. It wasn’t as if they’d ever really talked before. Maybe they’d been around one another a few times, but after the initial introductions there hadn’t been any reason for them to be on friendly terms. Everything Elis had learned about Valhalla—which, honestly, wasn’t a lot now that he was thinking about it—had come in the form of stories from other people, mostly of the “he’ll kill you in his sleep” variety from other pages and squires trying to scare him.
It had worked, whether it was true or not. Elis let out a very loud, very undignified “AAAAAAHHHHHHH” when the Knight launched himself at him. He had no time to get away and merely flailed his arms around to try and extricate himself from Valhalla’s grasp, stumbling as he did so before he felt himself falling.
His brain must not have been working properly—or maybe it was?—or else he wouldn’t have thought to wrap his arms around Valhalla and pull him down with him the way he did.

How was it that he always ended up being pulled down with his opponent? Maybe it was a Jovian thing, since his last opponent had pulled him down as well.
Valhalla grunted as he hit the ground, scowling at Elis's good luck. That's all it was, of course, or so he told himself. This kid might have gotten to the second round, but that was because he wasn't up against one of their own. Clearly, Valhalla thought much more highly of himself and his fellow Jupiter knights and the senshi that were in the Jovian system of moons than he did of other places.
Unable to keep a good hold on the Page, Valhalla reluctantly let him go, pushing himself back up to his feet to reassess his plan of attack.
"Don't scream like that... You're going to cause more harm to yourself by flailing around than just moving with your opponent," the knight pointed out, rotating his shoulder to loosen it up, before reaching out to try and grab hold of the younger knight.
"Don't act rashly. Think it through," he suggested. Had it been anyone other than a Jupiter knight, he wouldn't have cared to help them not make a fool of themselves.

Elis was very good at making a fool out of himself. He’d done it when he’d jumped into the pool in swimming, he’d done it in his first round of the wrestling tournament, and now here he was making a fool of himself in front of a Knight.
Had he said that enough? Dude was a freaking Knight!
He tried to listen, he really did, especially since it was Valhalla talking and he should probably make sure things like “I hope you’ve said your goodbyes” and “I’m going to kill you now” weren’t coming out of the Knight’s mouth, but it was really hard to focus and concentrate when he was frightened for his life.
If he thought about it logically he’d have realized his fear was actually rather stupid. Well… no, it wasn’t completely misplaced. He was sure Valhalla could kill him if he wanted to—he’d heard the Knight was a pretty grumpy guy to begin with, a bit of a cocky b*****d and somewhat obstinate under certain circumstances—but there was also the whole fact of him… maybe not wanting to. Elis hadn’t really given him a reason to. Besides, they were in a match in the middle of the Olympics with plenty of people watching them. Princess Jupiter was around somewhere and they were supposed to be fighting for Jovian honor and glory! Surely Valhalla had the same intentions as he did!
“Yes, sir!” he squeaked, but kept flailing anyway.
Which wasn’t helpful to either one of them, since one of his gangly arms went flying into Valhalla’s face.

Was this kid even trying?
Valhalla cursed when he was hit in the face, lifting a hand to cover his nose and stumbled back a bit. What the hell was that for? Elis wasn't paying the least bit of attention!
The knight scowled, lowering his hand as he backed up to the edge of the ring. Even though he said he wasn't going to go easy on him, it certainly looked like he was with the way he kept getting pulled down or hit in the face. Seriously... don't hit his face...
Not wanting to risk getting his nose broken, Valhalla reached out to take hold of the Page with an arm around his neck and shoulder, pulling him back to the ground and waited for the count.
If anything, Valhalla was just saving this kid from getting his a** kicked in the final round.

Was he trying? Sort of. Well… maybe a little. He wasn’t not trying, he just… he was easily intimidated by his companions… or something. He was definitely intimidated by Valhalla, though most of that was due to the stories he’d heard—which may or may not be true. He honestly had no idea, and he wasn’t too keen on finding out.
As soon as Valhalla had an arm around his neck and shoulder, it wasn’t much of a fight—if it could have even been called that to begin with. Elis couldn’t decide if he wanted to keep flailing or go completely still, though his body seemed to make the choice for him and completely froze up as soon and he was shoved into the ground.
How completely pathetic…
“Okay, okay, okay, you win, you win!” he squeaked once the match was finally over.
He wasn’t even all that disappointed. Actually, he wasn’t disappointed at all, though he felt his face burning with shame and really hoped the Princess hadn’t been around to witness that terrible display. It was bad enough a Knight of Jupiter had to be involved. God, he was never going to live this down. He’d never be able to look Valhalla in the eye again—not that he’d been able to look at him all that confidently in the first place.
As soon as he was let up, he fully intended on scampering right out of there and maybe letting one of the others help him drown his sorrows in a pint of ale.

Valhalla let the Page go once the match was called, pushing himself up and then reaching out a hand to help the younger knight up as well. They were on the same team, after all. It was just unfortunate that they ended up fighting against each other.
"You did well in soccer the other day. Keep it up," he said with a nod and a small warning glare to make sure Elis wasn't tempted to hug him or some other ridiculous Jovian thing like that. He didn't mind when others bear hugged each other, but he kind of liked his personal space.
"You'll be competing in the pole vault, correct? I wish you luck and I'll see you on the field." Valhalla decided not to mention the javelin and discus throw since he himself had done rather poorly, but there was nothing wrong in looking forward to the future.
"Like I told the others... keep on your guard. The Neptune and Earth knights are doing rather well... We need to shut them down."

Elis quickly sprang to his feet once he was released, touching Valhalla’s hand only as long as he needed to before snatching his fingers away and switching nervously from foot to foot. He didn’t know where to look and settled for glancing at the floor of the ring off to the left, letting himself feel stupid and pathetic for a little longer.
He didn’t know what to think of Valhalla’s encouragement. It was odd, and not what he expected to hear at all. Shouldn’t the guy shout at him for being a moron? He sort of felt like shouting at himself at the moment. This is seriously what he got for entering things he wasn’t very good at in the first place. Maybe it would teach him to stick to what he knew—which wasn’t much, admittedly. His only talent seemed to be in nervous flailing.
“Right. Yes. Thank you, sir,” he mumbled embarrassedly.
Elis didn’t even remember to wish Valhalla luck in his next match. As soon as Valhalla was done and Elis had nodded to show he very much understood, the Page skittered off and out of the ring to put as much distance between them as possible.
He told himself he should try to keep his head high anyway, but he found more satisfaction in lowering it and watching the ground pass beneath his quickly shuffling feet.
