Eanah was on top of the world. Her lessons were going well for a change, even her much lamented strength training, and in several days' time, she and Leyn would be heading off to Eowyn to seek out and kill her first Kiandri dragon. Even Leyn had only battled one or two in his day, but that was more because he had a... thing about lightning. After a long day of sparring and magical focus, when he was too exhausted to think straight, the newly-made Expert often named the electric beasts his brothers. Eanah had learned that when his lips took on a certain slant and he got to fidgeting with the little hooked claw at the end of his scepter, it was not the time to argue about dragons. If he wanted to claim an affinity with the creatures then that was his business. Dragons were dragons as far as Eanah was concerned, and she was looking forward to pitting her skills against a new sort.
Seeing as how their trip would last several months, there was much to do before they could go. The girl's steps were hurried as she moved across the courtyard, but there was a distinct bounce to them that wasn't usually present. She was in particularly high spirits today, a rare sight indeed.

((I"m going to go ahead and reply to this but I'll understand if you don't want to continue with it. I was to apologize for not posting before. Ugh. I feel terrible.)) Kilian's breath was labored and sweat was dripping from his face. His back was against a practice dummy as he took a break from his training he had been doing. Every muscle in his body ached, stinging with exertion, but much as his body objected to the harsh work, he knew he couldn't stop now. He had to better himself if he was going to go after any more dragons. There was no way he could let them defeat him. Not after what they had done to his family. His cousin's family. This was personal, and he owed it to himself and those he cared about to do himself proud and strive to aim only for the best. Always. No excuses. Raking a hand through his already tousled hair he pushed away from the dummy and took on an offensive pose. He would not quit until he could not move. Quitting was not an option for him. No way. He took a deep breath and lunged for the dummy, hitting it in strategic places that would take down another being.

Her strength training might have indeed gone well today, but Eanah would never be a physical match for this other Oblivionite she noticed practicing nearby. She told herself that she shouldn't go out of her way to approach him, but something about his intensity drew her to him. She wondered if she appeared that focused when she sparred.
The girl lingered nearby for a minute or so before addressing the blindfolded boy in her soft voice. "You are dedicated. It's an admirable trait."Tangled Puppet no worries! also let me know if he isn't wearing his blindfold XD

Smerdle I've never thought about taking him out of his blindfold. So it's fine that it's on. -nod- Kiian was so into his training that he had blocked out all outside noises. In hindsight this probably was not a very good idea. A fighter needed to have all of his sense open if he were to survive. So when he heard a female voice address him close by he jumped back, almost losing his balance. He caught himself before he could go down completely though. "What the hell.." He grumbled as he looked around and caught site of the female who had disturbed him. "I suppose..." Kilian said in response to her comment. "Don't you know you should not sneak up on someone?"

The only indication that Eanah was momentarily displeased was the slight crease that formed between her brows. Even her voice remained pleasant, if monotonous, but it rarely held any great degree of emotion anyway.
"Hm. I certainly don't possess your way with a forward assault. I would argue that being sneaky is all I have." She smoothed her skirt with her fingers, folding her hands in front of her. "But I apologize. And I'll give you my word. I will make a point of never sneaking up on you personally again." Her lips rose a fraction at their corners. She was in too good a mood to let this surly young man ruin it. Not yet, anyway.

Kilian almost smirked at the last comment. he really did need to work on honing all his senses. "Apology accepted." He mumbled as brushed his hands off on the side of his pants. "I am not that great at this." He said as he gestured towards the practice dummies and shrugged. "Just lots of practice, I guess." "So what brings you to the practice grounds? Come to practice your moves a bit?" He was almost curious enough about her fighting style to stick around and watch.

Eanah's reply tumbled out before she could stop it. "No, I..." She didn't enjoy practicing in front of anyone other than her instructors in case she made a mistake, but she supposed messing up while surrounded by her people would be preferable to doing so in front of a dragon.
"I don't have... moves. It's more hiding behind rocks and..." The girl raised her hand, concentrated, and flicked a finger, sending a small jolt of power at one of the dummies. "...a lot of that. Boring, really. I was just passing through." There was an awkward bit of silence on her end before she added, "We should spar sometime though." It would be beneficial to see how to deflect such close-range attacks. "I'm Eanah." She held out her hand.Tangled Puppet i'm so sorry this took so long ;; we can end it if you'd like? <3

Kilian frowned at the girl, inspecting her and eyeing her stature. Slim and unassuming, yes, but not what he would immediately classify as 'weak' by a long shot. Not to mention, though he'd never met her before now, she certainly seemed to be agile, if she was capable of moving so quitely. From what he'd already observed, she underestimated herself greatly. He only wished he had such stealth. Maybe it was not his lack of training that made him not realize she had been close by but she was just that good at hiding her presence. He watched her as she snapped her fingers and the dummy splintered.
Shaking his head, he turned back to her. “Not boring at all. Just a different fighting style.” While he would never be caught dead using magic, he could appreciate those who practiced it. Like close combat it took a special kind of person to be able to control it.
“I would like to spar sometime. It has been a long while since I fought anything other than a dragon.” The last time Kilian had fought with another was Elleth. In fact, it was the only time. Would he be rusty? “It is always good to fight against such a different opponent.”
Probably, but he supposed that was likely more reason to do it rather than back out. Besides, he was fairly sure this girl would have a different approach to it than Elleth had, and give him the benefit of a more varied experience for testing his own skills. Aloud, he said only, “It is always good to fight against such a different opponent.”
