“It all looks the same.” Samawati thought aloud as he eyed the never-ending yellow plains. It had finally dawned on the young lion that the landscape hadn’t changed much since they’d left the Pridelands and that surprised him a little. In this little journey of discovery and exploration, Samawati expected to find a great variety of landscapes and creatures – much like what he’d seen before joining the Pridelands - but so far the day had been somewhat lacking in the excitement department.
“Nothing interesting for miles.” He said with a soft sigh before his eyes narrowed mischievously when he looked at the dark lioness next to him. “Well, there is one thing…” He grinned, leaning closer to bump his head softly against her side.

"You have no idea where we're going - do you?" The cub sighed in exasperation as he followed after his white counterpart. He was supposed to finding them an old carcass to chow on, but instead he seemed to enjoy circling that one tree a lot more. "If you don't know what you're doing, you could at least say so!" Growling in frustration, the cub swatted at the front cub's tail. "And what's with this tree? Haven't we passed it a few times already!?" Ghubari heaved a sigh as he continued to follow suit. He didn't know how much longer he could take this! His tummy was rumbling and his feet were tired. Mom had never made him walk this long without a break! Come to think of it, Mom had never really let him do a lot of things... He'd never understood it though, she'd always mumbled something about 'your father' when she'd stop him though.
"When can we stop for a break?" Right then, Ghubari's stomach let out a loud grumble of disapproval and he began to whine even louder. Surely the louder he got, the quicker he would see results? That's how it had always been with mom - why would it be different now?
This was getting old, he'd only been teamed up with his friend here for a week or so, and he was so demanding and needy! Truthfully it was enough to make a cub pull his hair out! But, so far he'd managed to stay calm, cool, and collected. Ghubari definitely wasn't the type to be able to lead anyone, anywhere. Which is why he was in charge, Ghubari himself had even said so.
Of course he knew where he was going! The problem was, there was no food there, and he was far to embarrassed to admit it. Instead he fought his own hunger, trying to hide his tummy rumbles under fake coughs.
"I do know where i'm going. But it would be a lot easier if it was dark! I told you, the stars are easier to read than the sand! AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT TREE! It's not the same tree, its that one tree's triplet." Sitare giggled under his breath as he tried to hide his sarcasm. He knew Ghubari wouldn't buy it, but it was still a little too funny to pass up.

Depawsit Sarabi's ears flicked toward the Sama's direction. A smile grew on her face. She couldn't help but to giggle some at what he was saying. "It's out there!" She tried to convince him. She knew that it was out there. she knew there was a different sight out there and that there was more to this adventure. She had seen it before she knew about it. As of where it was at the moment she wasn't that sure. She must have wandered further than this in the past. Either way she was starting to get a little worried, she didn't want to disappoint Sama, not at all she cared deeply about him and she promised an adventure out here in the lands. "I thought it was out here anyway." She said a little more quietly with her ears folding against her head.
Her ears flattened for a moment before she heard the next thing that Sama spoke and he bumped into her. She giggled in response, it was silly she enjoyed it when he was being silly though. It always made her feel a little better. She sighed though still a little frustrated flopping down on her haunches and shaking her head at him. "I don't know I thought there was stuff out here.

Samawati smiled as he listened to Sarabi’s giggles, one of his favourite sounds in the world. He kept walking by her side as he wondered about the creatures he’d rather they didn’t see but he knew they'd have to be very lucky to avoid all the hyenas of the rogue lands.
“I’m sure we’ll find something.” He said with little feeling to it, his eyes travelling through their surroundings. His ears swivelled around with swift movements and he froze, one paw dangling in the air.
“This is our first adventure together. We better find something.” He joked half-heartedly, his mind clearly on other matters. “Did you hear something? I swear I...” he inspected the grass for a few moments, looking for any signs of movement. “Careful, there might be a snake nearby.”

Poor Ghubari rolled his eyes at Sitare's words. That tree wasn't a triplet! Even he was smart enough to know that, it just happened to look a lot like the other one. Right? "Whatever, can we just find somewhere to rest pleeeaase? My paws are tired Si-si!" With the best fake pout he could muster, he pawed at his leader's tail trying to gain his attention. "I think i'm even getting blisters? Is that what these things are called?" Staring back up once more from his paws, he noted Sitare's lack of attention and groaned loudly. "YOU DON'T EVEN CARE DO YOU? That's harsh Si-si ..."
Sitare's frown only got larger the longer he listened to Ghubari's whining. This wasn't what he'd signed up for when he'd offered to be his guide. He'd been hoping for a friend, someone to keep him company while they both tried to find a place to fit in, but instead he'd gotten a lion that made him want to pull his mane out!
Sighing Ghubari silently rolled his eyes at Ghubari's nagging, of course he was concerned by the male's supposed blisters, but he knew there was no real danger. Ghubari liked to over exaggerate everything, and by everything, he truly meant EVERYTHING.
"I told you not to call me Si-si! How would you like it if I called you Goo-goo? Yeah don't like it do you?" Ghubari snorted at the nickname and turned back to his companion to bug him further, but something else caught his attention.
"Wait - did you hear that?" Taking a peak in Ghubari's direction it was obvious he hadn't.
"Hush for a second I think I heard something." Making a stay motion with his paw, Sitare left Ghubari behind the tree triplet to take a closer look. But instead of going very far, as soon as he turned the corner of the tree he bumped into something large and golden in color.

Sarabi huffed a little at Sama, she was really hoping that they would find something. She felt like she had been on so many other adventures before wandering around outside of the pridelands, but this time she wasn't having any luck. She was upset that she felt like her first adventure with her mate wasn't going as she was planning and she was starting to get discouraged more and more with every step. But now she had to stop, he heard something and she was a little concerned. A snake? She didn't hear anything that sounded like a snake. She wasn't sure if he was being silly or not but either way she was kind of upset, there couldn't be snake!
His concerned worried her a little but at the same time she didn't want to just want to go about and freak out about this 'snake' especially if it wasn't real. She was not in the mood for that. She looked around and then returned once again with a huff. "sama, that doesn't sound like a snake!" She answered but thens he heard the 'shhhh' from the snake and she pushed her body against Sama's. Okay so maybe there was a snake.

“But I did hear something…” Samawati said softly as if he was beginning to doubt himself. He grinned discreetly when her body pushed against his but the sudden movement next to his paws turned the golden lion’s expression to one of surprise as his muscles braced for impact. Sarabi was right, that was definitely not a snake.
“Hello, little guy.” He said with a smile that widened when he looked at Sarabi. “He’s tiny.” He lowered his head slowly to give the little cub a better look. “Where are your parents? You shouldn’t be out here on your own.”

"Ooff!" was the only thing the tiny little cub could manage before he went tumbling backwards. He had just begun to learn how to adjust his footing and now here he was tumbling backwards. Luckily for the young lion, his follower was right behind and made a soft but whiny pillow. As he adjusted his vision he took note of what exactly the yellow fur had come from. A large fluffy male now stood before them, a female stood behind him possibly fearful of something. But what could startle these two? They were big scary lions! "Huh my parents? Oh I don-" "My Mom is missing and I don't know where she is!" Ghubari quickly jumped on his companion's head playfully, doing his best to appear both pitiful and adorable at the same time. "And I don't know who my Dad is. Mom never introduced us to him." A small frown crossed Ghubari's face, a cross between true disappointment and a thought process. Almost as though the wheels were turning, but they hadn't quite reached their full potential. He knew there was something else to that story, but he still didn't know what it was. "But we're OK! Si-Si here has been taking care of me! He's a really good navigator!" Tail wagging in pure excitement, he placed a paw to his mouth and continued, attempting to hide the words from his friend. "Or at least he says he is."

Sarabi turned to her mate for a moment as she stepped forward and thens suddenly she too saw the cubs. She was both surprised and confused to a point. Why were there cubs out here? What happened to their mother? She normally saw cubs around that were with their parents. She thought it was very odd to see the cubs without their mothers. She was confused and unsure of what to do with it. She looked at her mate and started to move toward the cubs curious of what to think of them. Why are they by themselves. As they explained she looked at them a frown was on their face. She didn't like them being by themselves.
"So you two have no idea where your parents are?" She asked curisouly. she just wanted to take them and snuggle them and let them know that she still loved them dearly. But she was completely confused of why they were alone she really just wanted to make sure that they were okay. She looked down and then at her mate and gave him a soft look. She wanted to do something for them. "Well little ones are you guys okay?" She asked on top of her other question she was hoping that they were. She would be really upset if they weren't.

Samawati had a look of disbelief when his eyes met Sarabi’s and when she moved closer to the cubs he took a few steps backs and circled the little ones, eyes fixed on the horizon. When he was satisfied (perhaps not the most adequate word in this case) that there were completely alone, the yellow lion looked back at the two little lions. They didn’t seem to know where their parents were but Samawati couldn’t see or catch the scent of an adult lion in the area. It was most troubling. How long had they been walking, he wondered. Just how lost were the two little cubs?
“You can’t be alone. Who has been taking care of you?” Their answers had also varied slightly which led Samawati to ask another question. “Aren’t you brothers?” While his words and behavior were more practical in nature, he couldn’t help but to melt a little when he saw Sarabi handle the little ones.

Sitare frowned pitifully at the adults, though his pride told him not to. The truth was he really missed his parents, but it had been quite some time since he had seen them. He knew he was likely to never see them again, but he really hadn't had the heart to tell that to Ghubari. Who as sad as it was to think, still expected his Mother to come barreling around the corner at any moment. He knew he had to say something to the adults, but he didn't want to frighten his friend.
With mountains of patience, Sitare listened intently to the adults, all the while keeping his solemn expression. He sort of hoped they would pick up on his facial expressions, but he had his doubts.
With a confused look on his face at the male's last comment, Sitare finally spoke up, though his tone was likely a little ruder than he intended. "Huh? Brothers? No we just found each other and stuck together." He tried to offer the male a friendly smile but he now felt ruder for having spoken so abruptly.
Unlike Si-Si, Ghubari was more than willing to spill his life story to the two adults. Perhaps they could help him find his Mom! Afterall Si-si hadn't been quite as good at doing that as he claimed.
"No sir we aren't brothers, Si-Si just takes care of me. While we try to find my Mom!" Nodding matter of factly he looked over to the female who seemed so sweet and caring. "That's right, I don't know where they are. Well, I don't know where one is! I don't who the other is. Momma never told us much about him." He frowned slightly at those words, he had always wanted to know his Father, but had never been given the chance. He wondered if his Father even cared about him.
"Yes Ma'am we are OK, Si-Si takes really good care of me! Or at least, the best he can since we're both so small." Offering the female a toothy grin, near identical to his Father's he waited patiently for their next round of questions.

Sarabi was watching the two cubs as the explained what was going on in disbelief. They were out here alone! What kind of mother would leave their cubs alone. Her heart ached and she couldn't help but to feel sad for the cubs. She wanted to take them with her. She really did. She glanced at Sama before back at the cubs. "You don't have any idea where they are?" She asked curiously not really that sure of what to say, not sure of what to say at all. She just wanted to take them both under her wing and just take care of them.
"You guys could come with us until you find your parents." She said simply not really asking Sama. Either way she thought that she would try. She was thinking maybe if they came with her and Sama they could give them a home and a nice place to live. She was really hoping that could be the case.

Samawati could hardly believe that the small cubs were all alone in a place like this and apparently for a while now. What had they been eating?! His eyes sought Sarabi’s and he caught her glance. He knew what she was about to say even before the words left her mouth though considering they really only had one choice in this situation, that could hardly count as a great achievement. They couldn’t leave the kids alone, now could they?
“We’re going to look for your parents, don’t worry.” He told the little ones slowly, more for the benefit of the cub who seemed certain he was going to see his mother again. “But for the meantime, you can stay with us.” If they failed to find the cubs’ relatives, they would simply have to take them to the Pridelands. At that point, Samawati wasn’t really thinking of the boys as his. They were part of other families and it was his job to look for them or find new families for them in the Pridelands if all else failed. He was clearly underestimating the bond that would certainly form if he were to travel with those little cubs for a while, working together with Sarabi to keep them safe, warm, fed and happy. “I’m Samawati and this is Sarabi. We came from a place called the Pridelands.”

He wasn't quite sure of what to make of the older female's offer. Was it really a good idea to follow these two adults around? Sure, they looked trustworthy enough, but what if his Mom came back? Would she be able to find him? He'd never had to make a decision like this on his own before, but at the same time he knew he couldn't make it on his own. And it was obvious Si-si couldn't care for him forever.
"N-n ma'am I don't know where she is, and neither does Si-si"Ghubari nodded his head in agreement to the older female's question, trying his best to sound non pathetic, but having spent most of his cubhood striving to be a whiner, it was a bit difficult.
Ghubari sat a moment, his eyes pacing back and forth between Si-Si and the two adults before them. He was about to speak up and question her intentions, but then thankfully the male came through for him. Heaving a small sigh of relief, he offered an adorable little smile.
"You promise?" He questioned, knowing full well that as long as they promised, he would surely follow them anywhere. "If you promise to take care of me ... and maybe Si-Si? Ghubari stole a quick glance as the young cub next to him, almost questioning his next step. "Then I think I would like that!" Taking a timid step toward Samawati and Sarabi, he sat between them, a beaming smile upon his face as he looked over at his brother. He couldn't tell a lie, not to those kind strangers. He knew it was his best bet to accept their offer, though he wondered whether he really cared to find his parents. Sure, he missed them, but their lack of an appearance made him wonder if they missed him. He was caught, and it showed with his lack of words.
He watched with a tied tongue as Ghubari questioned him, and took his seat next to the duo before them. If Ghubari was going to do it, shouldn't he too? He couldn't just leave him all alone like this. Regardless of how crazy the boy could drive him sometimes.
"So you'd be sort of like our parents right?" A pang of guilt hit him right in the gut as the words escaped his lips. But he knew he was doing the right thing. He missed having someone to love him and cuddle him. He missed having a full meal, and a safe place to sleep. He missed ... a family.
"Well Ghubari is like a brother to me, if he goes I want to go to." His words were more tentative, and at first he made to motion to move closer to the family. But as he sat there, allowing himself to warm up to the idea, he found himself warming up in the inside.
Before he realized what he was doing, the young white cub was curled around the female's leg happily purring. "Just promise you won't leave us OK?"
Mogami Ack! Sorry for my super late reply x.x If you two are OK with it, I think we can wrap this up soon C:

Sarabi honestly was super excited at the idea of spending time with the cubs and taking care of them. Not only that but she was also super excited to be able to give the cubs a home when they wouldn't be able to normally have a place to go, or at least so it seemed. She was really hoping that the cubs were going to be happy with them. She was extremely excited to know that the cubs that weren't going to be around the rougelands with no one to watch them or feed them. She was happy at the idea that they would take care of them.
"We promise," she said with her smile growing larger on the face she was extremely excited to take care and shelter them. She did have hope that they would find their parents though. She didn't want it to seem like they kid napped the cubs. She knew that she would be say to see them go but at the same time she knew that at the moment she had no idea if that was even possible regardless she just wanted them to be safe. "We will make sure to keep an eye out for them." She said with a smile growing on her face.
