The Hokage Monument, Hokage Mountain or the Hokage Rock (火影岩, Hokage-iwa) is the most representative trait of Konohagakure. It is a mountain that has had the faces of all the Hokage carved into the stone. During the first episode, Naruto Uzumaki painted the faces of the four Hokage as a joke, and revealed that he planned to surpass them, stating that his face will someday too be in the monument. He also did it to grab attention, as the people of Konoha despised him for having the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox sealed inside him.
At the beginning of the series, the Monument had the faces of the First Hokage, the Second Hokage, the Third Hokage, and the Fourth Hokage. During the time-skip, the face of the Fifth Hokage was added to the mountain. In the anime while the Fifth was in a coma, it was shown that the faces of Danzō Shimura and later Kakashi Hatake were to be carved in as the next Hokage after the Fifth, but Tsunade's recovery stopped this procedure before it could be done.

Avarice stood on top of the Hokage Mountain and looked over the entire Leaf Village. She liked this Village...besides the fact that there was rarely rain when she got there. She stood on the head of one of the greatest kenoichi besdies Konan of the Rain; Tsunade. It was fabled that she was the strongest woman in the world, Avarice was unable to tap into that kind of power. She admired her and emulated her, but for the moment she was going to wait for that hot Jounin she met in the Office.
Desu made his way up the Hokage mountain. It truly was a beautiful sight. This is what Konoha used to be famous for. Not it's the tales and legends of the Heroes that came from here. The Heroes that essentially saved the shinobi world. He wondered, what it would be like if a village that was this powerful ended up becoming imperialistic. He shook the thought from his mind, it was peace right now, and that was something that did not need to be disturbed. He noticed the attractive kage standing atop of the Great Tsunade. How ironic for one Kage to be standing on the head of another. He finally approached the Amekage, this time much more confidently. "As you said. I am alone." He said, before looking over the village that he loved. "Technically you're not alone hot-shot." Desu cracked a small smile that was barely noticeable. Hey Boku how 'bout sushi for dinner. He said. He bit his lip, as another sharp migraine struck him. OKAY OKAY RELAX IT WAS A JOKE Thought Desu as the migraine dissipated. He relaxed his body again, waiting for an answer.

Avarice turned around and looked at him, she could nearly hear Isobu talk; she was slightly amused by the thought of them being bonded. She crossed her arms and looked at him, she hated the thought that she had to go to another village for help with something so little " As a Kage I'm technically not allowed to leave the Rain Village, but as I have become more fluent with different clone jutsu ... it makes things easier. " She walked to him and looked at him, he was quite a sight " I have nothing but genin and I need an investigation of a ... " She thought for a moment on how to word it, she didn't want to say the Rinnegan but what the hell " I have a shinobi in the Rain Village that holds the Rinnegan eye. I need him found immeaditely. "
Avarice thought about it for a moment and got extremely close to Desu. She intently stared at him, the sharigan started to spin rapidly and something escaped from her lips " Isobu ... a word? No worries, I'll create the plain " She smirked and started to broadcast a massive area genjutsu to conceal them both.
The Genjutsu looks like they are standing in the middle of the ocean; though Avarice likes the rain ... she knows that Isobu will be more willing to talk of he's "comfortable".
Desu turned to the woman and listened carefully as she spoke. He watched her come closer to him. He noticed her eyes trail on him again, and he exchanged the eye play, equally as well. He bit his lip again, and itched the back of his head. It was a habit. "Well you see, for a mission that involves me leaving the village I would have to talk to Lady Hokage.." He said, but his train of thought was derailed by the sudden scent of Amekage getting really close to him. Actually she was so close that he could feel her. Desu didn't make any surprised reaction, he just stood there and enjoyed it. "It doesn't work like that when he's sealed inside of me." He said, before he gently placed a hand on her cheek and closed his eyes. This would allow Isobu and Avarice to enter the dimension that Desu and Isobu communicated. However this time Avarice created a different place for them to talk, how interesting. The Uchiha really were the masters of illusion.
Isobu stood in ocean, his enormous body showing. "Why have you summoned me?" He asked, in a loud, deep, monstrous voice.

Avarice nodded and soon stood in front of the massive bijuu " Isobu, Are you aware if the situation? " She paced the water and looked at the Bijuu, it was insane looking at the massive bijuu this close. She leaned against the bijuu and looked at the torrential seas " The Akatsuki is on the move and the Rinnegan that once resided in the Rain Village is now missing ... this put you in a sticky situation. " She touched the bijuu and thought it was pretty awesome, she had fought them before but never been able to have a conversation with one. It was said that Isobu was the shyest of all the bijuu " The fact that they have taken Kurama and the Rinnegan is missing... Your pretty much screwed along with everyone else. "
She turned to Isobu " ...and the fact that your Jinchurriki is a good looking man doesn't help. " She looked at Desu and winked, she loved the Leaf Village; it made a great impression on her.
Isobu exhaled, and it sounded like a roar of a hundred lions. "Kurama..." He simply said. Isobu did not like her leaning against him one bit, but he didn't do anything. "The less we involve ourselves the better. We will not go hunting for trouble when he haven't encountered any just yet. " Isobu said sternly. Desu stood ontop of Isobu's head, with his arms crossed. "It might not be a good idea to make ourselves stand out.. He may be right on this one." Desu said. "The Akatsuki are on the move again, we all just have to be a little more careful this time." He said, patting Isobu on the back. Isobu growled. "They will not have me again. We will crush them if they reach Konoha." Isobu said. Desu nodded, it was true, Konoha is much stronger than it was before.

Avarice looked at Isobu and Desu " You must understand, if we unite with a front against these men then we can defeat them. " Avarice knew that it would be tough to try and convince someone that has been hunted since he was created " Isobu, I understand your plight and I would do the same ... but what happens when they crush your borders and wound the people of Konoha. History has a way of repeating itself, this time the Rain is cooperating in this coup-de-grace. " She knew that this was going to be hard, she could feel the fact that the actual Avarice was beginning drop away from her meds. The genjutsu started to weaken and get shaky " Isobu, I trust in the Bijuu and their jinchurriki... probably more then I should. As long as your aware of the threat then I have done something here. "
Desu looked down at Isobu for a second, then back at Avarice. This was sort of a big deal, and what unity was she talking about? All the nations were at peace at the time.. "What do you mean by unite?" Desu asked. Isobu's three tails rose and crushed against the water behind him, and an enormous wave crashed on his back. The water dripped down all over Isobu, almost like hydrating himself. "Have you spoke to any others?" He said, his voice echoing in the ocean. Desu sat on the top, slightly wet from Isobu's little display of irritation. Desu looked back at Avarice realizing what she siad earlier. He chuckled and scratched the back of his head. He winked back at her and bit his lip. Eh why not right?

Avarice looked at Isobu and nodded her head, it was ture there were two ther people that she knew that she told " Yes, Saiken and Son Goku. It's the advantage of having an advanced sharigan and their Jinchurriki being so young. " She paced the ocean and after Isobu splashed her she just stood there, she gazed upon the massive Bijuu and shrugged " The last time that the Akatsuki were around they cause a lot of trouble for the Rain Village and we became the villian of the Nations. I'm attempting to prevent that again. " She stood back and adjusted her hair and sat down on the surface of the massive ocean, she looked at Desu and almost thought that she was keen on the man... which wasn't far from the truth. If he really knew her then he would probably not like her " I will prove that you can trust me Isobu, I can hear the doubt and distrust in your voice. "
Isobu listened to the Amekage. "Only the Bijuu of your village. No doubt they would unite with a side they are already on." Isobu's giant eye shifted out to the fake sea, before shifting back to staring at Avarice. "I dislike this fake water. Your genjutsu is impressive, however not as good as the original Uchiha." He said, before his eye looked down at the water he was standing in. "The water isn't salinated enough." Desu looked down at Isobu and raised an eyebrow. "We don't understand why coming to us will make it easier for Amegakure to win. We are shinobi of Konohagakure, and traveling to Amegakure at a stressful time would be abandoning our village. I hope as a Kage you understand the severity of that charge." He said, stroking the shell of Isobu. "Boku may not trust you, but that's just his personality." Isobu made a grunting sound as Desu said that. Desu then stood up, and spoke. "What is it that you are asking us to do, Miss Amekage?" He asked. Hoping that she wasn't asking for just her to be on Desu's to-do list.

She rolled her eyes and looked at the massive bijuu " I am original Uchiha, my whole family were Uchiha... I am the only one in my whole family that didn't obtain the Mangekyou. " She cracked her neck and looked at the bijuu, she wasn't insulted by the words of the Isobu. No other shinobi that she knew of could compare their Genjutsu against hers. She unraveled her hair and began to braid her hair " Listen, I'm not telling you to leave Konoha ... I told you this information so that you can be aware of the people around you. " She finished braiding her hair and walked infront of the Bijuu " On the way here, I found an Akatsuki lackey headed to Konoha in disguise. " She held up a bloody headband and tossed his in front of the Bijuu and Desu. She laughed and the genjutsu started to slowly fade " You know what else is quite impressive? My Clone Jutsus " It slammed its hands together and fell apart into several snakes but a massive white snake remain. The Genjutsu completely dissolved and she was gone.
Desu rolled his eyes at Isobu as he insulted the Amekage. How typical. "I apologize for Isobu's.. lack of adulation for you Miss Amekage." He said. "We appreciate your information greatly. It's an honor that you reached out to us." Desu watched headband flop into the fake water and sink downwards. He wondered where it would go, in this fake world. Desu leaped from Isobu, to in front of the Amekage. He looked into her sharingan eyes and smiled. "We will take your warning with great appreciation." He said to her, before watching her dissolve into snakes. He sighed, as the real world was now around him. "So much for getting somewhere.." He said, walking towards the Hokage's office again.
