{ HUMAN ASPECT }  : Name : Thomas Whelan: Age : about thirty-one: Occupation : Personal Assistant/Black Market Entrepreneur: Appearance : Thomas is of an average height, white very little distinguishing marks. He blends easily into a crowd, which makes his position in society ideal. People usually glance over him before continuing on. His hair is a sandy-brown, with somewhat tan skin from being on the streets for so long. His brown eyes miss very little, although it doesn't endear him much with the ladies. His build is average, not wiry or even built. He's not used to heavy lifting or back-breaking work. Thomas is usually clean-shaven, with hair just brushing his ears.: Home : Rents an apartment from boss, Edmund Arkwright...prefers the more shady areas of the street: Parents : unknown; orphan (as far as he knows): Prized Possession : Rabbit's Foot: supposedly it is the only connection to his parents.: Personality : Thomas has different approaches in what personality he portrays. In society, when he is Edmund's assistant, he acts the part to perfection. He appears loyal (which, he is loyal to Edmund - and himself), subservient, and almost lacking in real personality. With Edmund and close friends (he has... a few, counted on one hand) he laughs easily, is very opinionated, and is still just as loyal. When he is working the black market, he is very reserved and speculative, ruthless, and never gives up on anything. Really, all these traits are a part of him, but he learned early on in life that roles needed to be played if you wanted to survive in life.: History : Thomas ran away from the orphanage when he was about seven years old, with only the clothes on his back, a rabbit's foot that was left with him at the orphanage doorstep, and a last name that was written on a piece of paper. From there, he got involved with children gangs, pitpockets, brothels (running errands, not participating of course), and eventually got a mentor in the black market. He met Edmund and embraced the young lad when on the streets. He liked the boy (it was mutual), but also did his best to keep the worst from him. The two got in many fights together and watched each others back. Once Edmund went on to become a successful business man, Thomas was all too happy to join him - using it as an opportunity to keep an eye on more social classes.: Boss : Thomas has know Edmund Arckwright for a very long time. Now, he acts as a personal assistant and rents the apartment next to his boss's - not that he spends the most of his time there. Edmund doesn't really need him, but Thomas knows that his boss is just trying to help him out - and (he would never admit it) he missed his childhood best friend. They have mutual respect, but he has yet to see Edmund really smile.
