BURGERS

Bazzite had managed to get through the drive-thru window of Jolly Burger without incident (this time) and had three cheeseburgers to show for it. He was getting better at interacting the staff at Jolly Burger, especially after proving he was only there for food, not to cause any damage or harm. Some of the staff seemed disappointed that Bazzite wasn't there with his lacy senshi friend. They said she was not.

Bazzite was confused, shrugged and left.

And so, with a bag full of greasy, cheesy treats, Bazzite went out and about on his usual patrol route, munching away. He made sure to stop and throw away his trash. Littering was a crime, you know!

Bazzite was already in a full-tilt run when he caught the feeling of someone familiar. Oh hey, it was Paperclip Chick! The rambunctious lieutenant recognized her from a meeting they'd have forever ago. Skidding to a halt (and thankfully not landing on his face), Bazzite walked over to her, burgers in hand. "Heya Messolite! How's it hanging? You whoop any butts with your paperclips lately? Or better yet, those boots!"

The Negaverse lieutenant pointed to Messolite's boots with the enthusiasm usually associated with women. When asked about the burgers, the little ninja nodded profusely. "Oh yeah, you betcha! They gave me three by mistake and I ate one already so... would you like one? Can't go savin' the world on an empty stomach. It just don't work that way, you know?" Pulling out one of the wrapped delectables, Bazzite handed it to his fellow Negaverser. "I uh... well I had a soda but I think I either dropped it or finished it off... I wasn't really paying attention..."

He nervously rubbed the back of his head. Littering was a crime and since he can't remember what he was doing with this soda... that made him nervous. "Anyway, how you been, Messolite? The Right Side of the Tracks still treatin' you good?"

"Heck yeah! Not punching like a grandma's real important since you know, we don't get real for-really-reals weapons until we promote! So we gotta use our fists. But there're a lotta good teachers around n' we got this great support system so all you hafta do is ask! It's great."

Bazzite was then struck dumb when his paperclip-wielding companion nearly inhaled the burger he only kinda-sorta held out to her. It wasn't that he planned on eating all three burgers, no sir, it was just... can girls do stuff like that? Wasn't that breaking like some kinda law of the universe? He had to blink a few times before he was brought back to reality. "Well I'm glad I could help out and be like... the Burger Fairy." Bazzite giggled and rubbed the back of his head. "They're from Jolly Burger! Best place in town! I've been there a few times an' if you're nice an' you got a coupon, they'll serve you like anybody else. Swell place."

The lieutenant then plopped himself down on the nearest sorta-kinda-could-be-a-comfortable-spot-to-sit and smiled. "You know, maybe when we're Captains we can go out on missions n' stuff! Do real important stuff! Cuz I mean, I know we're supposed to be in training and all that and they give us these kinda lame weapons so we don't hurt ourselves..." Bazzite thought a moment. "....or maybe that's just with me but I bet you'll be a totally badass captain, Mesolite!"

Bazzite tittered and blushed under Mesolite's compliments. Usually he was either yelled at or told he was being too hyper or something negative. Only Benitoite was really and truly nice to him. And now Mesolite? The little ninja wasn't sure if he could handle all that attention. He simply wasn't used to it. "Well, I uh... well... thanks! I guess. I mean you'll be really super awesome too with really super awesome boots n' things. And like a bullwhip! Yeah, like Indiana Jones. You're be... uh... Irene Jones! Or maybe Iowa. I dunno, I always thought Indiana was kind of a girly name anyway..."

Now that he was bestowed with the official title of Burger Fairy, Bazzite laughed aloud. "Well okay then! So now I gotta get a uniform and work extra hard so I can be the fastest Burger Fairy around! I would wear wings for you but ya know..." He gestured to his back and frowned. "They kinda cause drag and that would make the burger cold when I got it to you. And I can't give a cold burger to you!"

Bazzite smiled genuinely. "Cuz you're my friend and I don't wanna disappoint my friends!"

Bazzite nodded fervently. "I always thought so too, like, who names their kids after states? Or better yet, why name your kid after a city? Like, who names their kid Dallas or whatever? That's weird. What happened to regular names? It's confusing enough when they're all spelled funky. I have a hard enough time spelling as it is!"

The little ninja nodded decisively. Clearly there should be some kind of regulatory firm that keeps track of these things.

He gave a warm smile when the friendship was reciprocated. "Well now I got another friend! Don't worry, Messolite. We're going to be super awesome badasses in the Negaverse and we ain't got nowhere else to go but up, right? And then we just teleport from there cuz we'd be extra badass." Maybe one day they'd both be teleporting around Destiny City, saving people from evil space pirates and all that. But they had a lot more training to do first! "I'm glad we met too cuz... well cuz most people think I'm too goofy to be in the Negaverse, but I'll show them!"

Bazzite stood up suddenly and curled his fists. "I'll show 'em how awesome I can be when I promote... and stuff!" DRAMATIC POSE.

Bazzite stopped his dramatic pose and laughed, blushing slightly at Mesolite's compliment. He didn't get that often from girls and it was kind of embarrassing. "Heh... well you're pretty swell too, Mesolite! We'll do great! We'll just work hard under our generals and then we'll teleport and it'll be awesome, right? You just gotta promise me that you'll be safe, okay? We gotta stick together and all that."

He extended a hand to her to help her up off the ground. "Want me to walk ya home? Make sure no crazy space pirates start comin' outta the woodwork n' stuff?"
