Rolling to see who will go first 1 Avalon, Earth 2 Elis, Jupiter Feel free to rp as usual randomizing betweeen 1 and 3 for each post, or to pre roll the results and go back and fill the posts in after the fact.Rolling reference for ease* For every post in a battle thread make sure you randomize between 1 and 3. The number you get will determine what happened during that turn. 1 - Uh oh, looks like you missed this time! 2 - Yay a hit! Your opponent should subtract 1 hp in their next post. 3 - Excellent hit! Your opponent should subtract 2 hp in their next post. * Keep track of your HP on the top of each post you make please! When someone reaches zero the battle is over. (You can post once or twice more if you'd really like the two to wish each other well or what not) If the dice decide to be jerks and the battle just keeps going on and on and on I may step in and ask for you guys to roll dice for some outside event to help out. Hopefully it won't be necessary

Elis was very nervous about wrestling.
Well, he was nervous about everything, really, but wrestling seemed more of a sport for brutes, and a brute he was not. As in everything, however, he could give it his best, even if his best ended up in a lot of tripping, stumbling, and flailing around until he was soundly defeated.
No, no, he shouldn’t think like that. He could totally do this. He’d even won a medal in another event! He just… needed to focus and stop worrying about what his fellows from Jupiter thought of him. At least he wasn’t facing one of them!
The lanky page shifted around nervously as he came face to face with his opponent, lifting a hand to scratch at the back of his head as he said, “Er… so… I guess we should get on with it,” and then added almost as an afterthought, “Oh, I’m… er… Elis… from Jupiter…”
Feeling like a moron, Elis shuffled forward to try and land his first blow, aiming for… actually, he didn’t really know what he was aiming for. He pretty much just flailed and hoped something struck.

"Guess so," said Avalon, who had looked at the roster and was pleasantly surprised by how many other knights were going out for wrestling. Still, the lack of numbers didn't mean they all had to lack for skill! Avalon was psyched up and ready to show every assembled knight that she, and Earth, meant business! Also that girls didn't have to be delicate fencer types, they could totally rock wrestling, too.
Fencing just wasn't much fun, anyway. She'd done it before and she knew.
His form was... not great! But the fact that his form was not great, here, at the Galactic Olympics, surprised her. Also the conversation surprised her! Talk was a big distraction and she shouldn't have been listening. Her knight-master would have been ashamed. "Oof," she said, digging in her heels at what felt like an unskilled attempt at a takedown, although she couldn't be sure, because... "First time, huh?"
Avalon, however, had spent a copious amount of time wrestling; there were a lot of villagers willing to indulge the future Knight of Avalon, and a lot of those villagers were farmers and fishermen. They were tough old codgers and Avalon wasn't, but a lot of the same tactics worked no matter what. She made to shove Elis away--but even if she couldn't, she thought she could maybe knock him out of his groove. Whatever that groove was.

HP: 2 Elis stumbled back ungracefully as his opponent shoved him , nearly tripping over his own two feet in the process and doing something like an ungainly dance to try and get himself back on balance. His long arms swung around a lot. He probably looked pretty ridiculous—but that wasn’t really an uncommon thing, he supposed. It might be his first time in a real wrestling match, but it certainly wasn’t his first time making a fool out of himself. “Uhh… you could say that,” he replied, not really wanting to admit it even if he knew it was obvious. He probably shouldn’t have even bothered entering, but he had been practicing—sort of. It was a little embarrassing going up to some of his fellows from Jupiter and asking for help. Not only that, but some of them were sort of scary. A lot of them had boisterous personalities and that was welcoming enough, but when he looked at them and compared himself to them he felt horribly inadequate. Plus, he was new and didn’t know a lot of them too well. He’d much rather figure it out on his own than have any of them laugh in his face—even if their laughing might have been good-natured. He really just wanted to try and prove himself useful and hopefully make his princess at least somewhat proud of his efforts, even if he wasn't the best. The page threw himself forward once he’d regained his footing. He didn’t want to hit her, or kick her, or choke her, or whatever else he was supposed to be doing, but maybe if he could try to just… knock her over?

HP: 0 Wow, beginner's ******** luck indeed. He surged back and knocked her down--and try as she might, she couldn't break out of his hold for the full ten seconds required. "Haha, wow, let go before you dislocate my arm," said Avalon, a good-natured smile blooming on her face. "I lose, okay? I do!"

Wait, he’d won??? Ha! He’d won! Elis let that feeling sink in for a few seconds before he realized he’d sort of flopped down on his opponent and could potentially be harming her—which he really didn’t want to do. Scrambling back up onto his feet, the page held out a hand to help her back up as well. “Sorry, sorry! I… uh… didn’t really mean to do that. Well, I did… but… not really like that. Bu, um…” he trailed off, lifting a hand to awkwardly scratch at the back of his head again. Well, at least she was nice about it. He still felt pretty bad, though. She’d obviously known what she was doing more than he had, but… he felt kind of good, too. It hadn’t been the most graceful or skilled of fights on his part, but at least he’d gotten somewhere! Beaming, Elis shuffled around and tried not to look like too much of a dope. “Um, so… good luck in the other events. I… er… sorry if I hurt your arm at all, and um… thanks…” Thanks for what? God, he felt like such a moron.

Avalon accepted the hand up and rolled her shoulders, making sure they still worked as they were meant to--even if she didn't have any more wrestling matches, there were a lot of other events she had to participate in to win glory and honor for Earth. "Thanks," she said, reaching over to pat the beaming kid on the shoulder, "If you want to practice sometime, I wouldn't mind helping out." Because in the end, they were all for the same cause, right? Galactic Olympics: Unity is Strength and s**t like that. (Or was that just Chronos knights that said that? She didn't know.) "Luck in your next match, Elis," she said, waving as she headed back over to her knight-master.
