Rolling to see who will go first 1 Solveig, Jupiter 2 Valhalla, Jupiter Feel free to rp as usual randomizing betweeen 1 and 3 for each post, or to pre roll the results and go back and fill the posts in after the fact.Rolling reference for ease* For every post in a battle thread make sure you randomize between 1 and 3. The number you get will determine what happened during that turn. 1 - Uh oh, looks like you missed this time! 2 - Yay a hit! Your opponent should subtract 1 hp in their next post. 3 - Excellent hit! Your opponent should subtract 2 hp in their next post. * Keep track of your HP on the top of each post you make please! When someone reaches zero the battle is over. (You can post once or twice more if you'd really like the two to wish each other well or what not) If the dice decide to be jerks and the battle just keeps going on and on and on I may step in and ask for you guys to roll dice for some outside event to help out. Hopefully it won't be necessary

"Looks like you drew the short straw," Valhalla smirked, one hand over the other to crack his knuckles. Wrestling wasn't one of his personal favorites, but he was decent at it. What helped was that he knew his opponent, knew he wasn't as experienced, and would definitely use that to his advantage.
It was just unfortunate that two knights from the same planet ended up fighting in the first round. That's what happened, though. No sense complaining or worrying about it. Just ended up being the hand they were dealt.
"I'm not gonna go easy on you, just because I know you," he reassured the Page, waiting for the bell to rush forward and catch Solveig's arm to keep him from making any moves, first.
After that, it was an aimed kick to the back of his knee to try and get the large man down.

Solveig really hadn't had luck in getting an easy opponent—but he hardly considered that to be drawing the short straw. On the contrary, Valhalla seemed like the perfect opponent. Sure, he'd have liked to weed out the rest of the competition before he had to fight against protector of Jupiter, but he was eager to see how well he stood against such an experienced warrior.
He probably looked ridiculous, legs spread and planted in a sturdy stance while he'd waited for the bell to ring—but even more ridiculous was the fact that his eyes were wide, and the largest grin was split across his face. He'd spent more time combing his moustache and beard than he had preparing for the battle. Nerves had never been his strong suit, he'd probably had a bit too much to eat beforehand.
But you wouldn't know that judging by his first move. Valhalla may have caught his arm and kicked the back of his knee, but Solveig was not going down alone. He might have lacked speed or the rank that Valhalla said, but he trained his body almost as much as he nibbled or gossiped. He jerked his caught elbow towards Valhalla, aiming towards his stomach, but assuming that wasn't going to be enough—coupled with the fact that he was already falling—he was determined to latch onto Valhalla, if not to save himself from the ground, then to take the knight down with him.

And go down he did.
Valhalla grimaced at the sudden weight pulling him down, hitting the floor of the ring with a thud. He was used to wearing heavy gear, sure... but in this competition, he went with much less. Something about making it fair. He felt like he was too exposed to injury without his breastplate and vambraces. Not that he was worried about his fellow Jovian hurting him, but for the sake of keeping his guard up...
He did his best to wiggle away from the man, keeping hold of his arm to try and get behind his back. If he could at least keep him against the mat, he would be okay.
And that's what Solveig got for trying to hug him earlier.

It was hard for Solveig not to enjoy what he was doing. Adrenaline rushing, wrestling with a worthy adversary—a laugh split from his lips. He wasn't smiling so much now; that landing had hurt—but he found humor in next to everything. "You little worm!" he jeered, though it was hardly a negative comment. "You move like a snake!"
He let out a guttural sort of growl as he flailed, but as his weight had taken him down, it kept him down. He was not the strongest in his legs, and while he had strength in his arms, in this position he couldn't even free them. On top of that, with his belly as round as it was, his wriggling made him look more like a turtle on its back than a grown man trying to wrestle.
He tried to aim a head butt to dislodge Valhalla, but it was an exceptionally failed effort, and a vague burning that made him think he'd nearly pulled a muscle.

While Valhalla didn't find things as amusing as many of his Jovian brethren, he was intrigued about Solveig's comment. It was a good match. Short, but good. If he had to take down one of his own, it was better that they'd both enjoyed themselves.
Maybe now Solveig wouldn't be tempted to include him in his many bear hugs. He got that enough from the other men at Valhalla.
"We'll have to have a rematch sometime," he offered, easily shifting out of the way of the man's failed head-butt as he waited for the count to finish. Once the fight had been called, he released his teammate and offered a hand to help him up.
"Keep an eye on the Uranus knights," he requested as he got the other to his feet, his voice lowered so as not to be overheard. They were all so busy with their matches and competitions that he didn't have a chance to really speak one on one to many of the other knights of Jupiter. "Polaris knights, too... I don't know much about them, but they've been doing well..."

Solveig readily took Valhalla's hand and heaved himself up. Hastening to brush himself off and comb his facial hair back to a proper place. "They won't be any problem for you!" the male said, cheeks ruddy from the effort he'd put into the wrestling. He couldn't count this as a loss; he'd been beaten by Valhalla! A full-fledged knight! And a fellow warrior of Jupiter!
There couldn't have been a more glorious defeat for him, so he clapped Valhalla on the shoulder. "You will go far! I do not envy your next opponent! Go on!" he said, still beaming.
A hug was inevitable.
Solveig couldn't have their last hug being one done in the heat of battle. He approached the male swiftly, wrapped his bulging arms around him, and heaved him off the ground in a massive hug before he dropped him back on the ground. "I will celebrate your victory with a feast in your honor! Now," he said with a good-spirited chuckle, "Go and win again, that I might partake in another feast to celebrate!"
