She's good with a whittle and a bit of wood, she has a flute that she carved herself that she plays occasionally, and she has an affinity with children and injured or lost animals.

Teacher, Caretaker

Background:
Scar was born to a single mother who died during child birth.

Her mother Sara had fled Avandere years before the war of the Six had begun. She had been carried by her bonded Azerin, Alex, to her family's farm just outside of the village she'd grown up in. The reason she left; she was with child, the father from a family of old nobility. She had feared what would happen to her child if she stayed and the father were to find out. She was a lowly maid, and she doubted the man's love for her, out of fear for her child's life, so she went home to her family.

Scar was raised by her grand parents after the passing of her mother, Alex, the Azerin, was devastated by the loss of Sara, whom she had bonded to as a child when Sara had faced the loss of her twin brother, and died shortly after, all Scar had to remember either of them by was a painting her Grand Mother had painted before her own death in Scarlet's early teens.

From the age of thirteen Scarlet was raised by her beloved grand father, who, in his youth, had been a fantastic rider and sword fighter, and when she was old enough he taught her how to fight and how to ride.

The age of nineteen came swiftly, six years of training, exploring, reading, writing and learning about the history of their world she recieved the call.
The morning came when she woke and felt an emptiness in her like nothing she had ever felt. She was sick to her stomach and her heart ached, all the color in the world seemed so lack luster, so lifeless, the joy she found in the wind, in the song of birds... it was gone... everything was so... dull and meaningless.

Fearing she had been possessed by some strange evil she told her Grandfather, and instead of fear, she saw on his face pride. She was young, and new to the world, but her calling had come, and he had lived to see it. He gave her a bag, in it; rations, a painting of her grandparents, her mother and Alex, and of a great city she knew to be Avandere. He gave her maps, a water canteen and they set into the Village to buy travelling clothes, and as they shopped her grand father told her it was time for her to go forth into the world and find her destiny and the emptiness she felt could only be replaced by the one Azerin who would complete her soul.

He sent word by bird to a friend in Avandere and days later a mighty Azerin stallion came upon them to take her to the edge of the isle, and from there she would make the journey to the city on foot, learning the land, mapping what she came across and meditating in her search for her soul's completion.

Personality:
Brash, straightforward and stubbourn.
She's never been one to stand back when there's something to be fought for, and she doesn't exactly beat around the bush when approaching a problem. She's hardheaded most days and determined to make things work her way or to do them the hard way. She's very... adept at finding trouble, and she has a thing about learning lessons on her own instead of learning by the mistakes of others, because frankly, everyone is made to do something differently.

Protective, Maternal, Assertive.
When it comes to the children she takes care of, she's absolutely your worst nightmare if you have any sort of ill will directed at the children. She will fight for any one of them, no matter their history or back ground, she's sweet, tender and loving to the children and she is quick to teach them and help them find places they can get an apprenticeship that suits their talents or personalities.

Naive, Withdrawn and demure.
Around men [with romantic intentions], at least. She gets flustered easilly and doesn't know how to handle the advances of the men she comes across. She was raised by her grand father, and she grew up sparring, wrestling and chasing the boys in the near by village and when she began... developing, the relationship between her and her male friends changed, but she kept the mentality that she could do or be anything they could, while most wanted to pamper her, dress her in nice things or show her off to their friends, which really wasn't something she wanted. She tends to avoid men, not sure how to act in their presence, and she hates awkward situations.

Reserved, Philisophical and Emotional.
These are the finer parts of her mind that stem from years of meditation, book learning and a respect and love for the earth and for history. She shows this side to very few people, her most inner thoughts and feelings revealed, obviously, to the Azerin that is destined to comlplete her, and to the one she may eventually, some day, take as her husband.
