It was a beautiful day and the white lioness stepped out of the dusky den, blinking in the sudden brightness. It hadn't been a lesson, mostly because as an adult Lailah had learned everything that could be conveyed in a tutoring session. All that remained was the experience, and she did have some of that already. Perhaps not as much as her instructor, Stellaluna, but the older lioness had been Shaman since shortly before Lailah's own birth.

She sighed and considered what to do with the rest of her day. She could go see her mother...and her younger siblings...but that didn't really appeal. She could go out towards the border lands, play her old "game" of trying to identify her father...but that didn't suit her mood either.

The lioness eventually decided she would simply walk through the pride and see hwere her stride would take her. Maybe something would come up.

Tatkret clung close to her families den for the most part. She was still very small and young making going out on her own all that much more difficult. Adults were always every which way meaning watchful eyes of the pride were usually upon her and any other youngster around the pride.

However, this thought didn't bother Tatkret to much. She'd still go off on her own in the pride and she'd still find something 'interesting' to do. Today she found her self hiding in the brush waiting for unexpecting tails to come and pass her by. Her grand plan, to play with whoevers tail came in to view. Unfortunately for Lailah, today was her tails turn.

Tatkret followed her target softly and quietly through the brush. Well, as quiet as an inexperienced cub stalker could be.

The older lioness paused mid-stride. Something had changed, but she wasn't certain what. However, it couldn't possibly be something she had to worry about - that's what Guards were for, to keep anything bad out of the pride. And, as Apprentice Shaman, she had nothing to fear from the pride itself. So whatever had changed was nothing important. If she needed to know about it, she'd find out.

Who knew, it could be the answer to her question of "what to do today"!

So the white lioness kept moving, though her lips now curled in a slight smile instead of the expressionless face she'd shown a moment before.

Tatkrets pupils were huge and zeroed on that lionesses tail. In her mind it was something much more interesting than just a tail. As the older lioness moved, so did she. Very slowly. Through the brush.

And than Tatkret launched her self from the brush towards Lailahs tail with a mighty (or not so mighty) tiny roar! Her claws were out. It was like an epic war scene, at least in side of Tatkrets head. The lioness swung..... but ultimately missed her target.

And now Tatkret was revealed. The little lioness paused. And than turned tail back for the brush to hide again. Maybe she hadn't been noticed.

The tail attacker had probably missed because, at the unexpected noise, Lailah had stopped in her tracks, tail lifted and alert. So she saw the blur of pink that appeared and then wriggled back into the bushes to hide. Gold eyes blinked as the adult tried to process what had just happened.

There was only one rational explanation. A cub. Which truly did explain everything, at the end of it. And also suggested how she might deal with the...attack.

"Oh, no!" the white lioness called out. "I've narrowly escaped the fearsome Tail Stealer! Whatever shall I do?"

Tatkret waited in the brush. She wasn't hidden too well. The cubs own tail could be scene hanging out of the brush. Even still, the lioness seemed like she was scared which made Tatkrets chest swell a little with pride. Was she really that good? The lioness couldn't help but smile.

Gullible. Most cubs were this. A little ego stroke was all Tatkret really needed to reveal her self to the lioness once more.

"Thats right!" She proudly let the lioness know. Her pupils were still a little big from earlier.

"And I got you now~" She proudly stood with her chin held up high.

Aha! There was the little culprit. The pink and yellow cub looked familiar and, as if that wasn't enough, her markings were a dead giveaway to the fact that they were related. Somehow. Lailah's family was excessively large to her way of thinking, and it was nearly impossible to keep track of how everyone linked up. She could keep track of herself, her siblings, and some of her cousins. Then her concepts broke down a bit.

"Oh dear!" she continued aloud, playing along with the game. Great Lion, cubs were precious. Had she ever been so convinced of herself when she was that age?

"What are you going to do, now that you've got me?"

The little pink and gold lioness couldn't help but smile a little smugly. She was convinced hook line and sinker. A fish on the hook.

"Ohohohoho," The little cub took a seat. She actually wasn't completely sure what she was going to do now that she had this lioness. The cub just sat and stared. She'd not thought this far ahead. Tatkret blinked.

"Well..... Y-you must give me a ride on your back," The cub decided. Now that it was out of her maw, it sounded completely lame. But Tatkret sat firmly with her decision. Unblinkingly serious.

It was only by force of will that Lailah didn't burst out laughing in delight. The little cub was utterly adorable! And she could certainly put up with the indignity of carrying the younger lioness around on her back for a bit. But the lioness' blue eyes sparkled as she thought of something she could...add to the situation.

"Okay...but how are you going to get onto my back from down there?"

There was no reason she had to make this that easy on the cub, right?

The lioness had a point. Tatkret stared up at the older lioness with wide eyes.

"..." The cub frowned.

"..........."

There was no answer only dots.

"I guess I'll jump up ?" The cub questioned.

Well, that made this easier. "I don't think you could make that jump," Lailah told the cub honestly and more seriously than she'd been acting.

"Maybe another day, okay?" As cute as cubs were, she didn't really want the younger lion hopping around on her back. Or worse, she didn't want to be held responsible if something should happen to the kid.

With that, she took herself off with a little tail salute for the cub.
