Now... there was nothing else to do. Possible hunting expedition was a thought, but that would have to be later and in the rogue lands as there was better game. Yes, he would do that after...after he cleaned his home one more time. Proper preparation and all that.

A few hours later he was off to go hunt and he was quickly finding the weather to not be as pleasant as it usually was. Summer was in full force it would seem and that thought caused him to pout. Summer would equal hot weather and that... that was a metaphorical enemy of his."With glowing hearts we see thee rise~ The True North strong and free!" He hummed the little ditty as he made his way further and further into the rogue lands to get his mind off the heat.

He had nowhere idea where he was, and his lack of sight wasn't helping one bit. All he knew was that he was still home. He knew his borders well, by both scent, and the change in the soil's density. Both of which had not yet changed. So where exactly was he? That was the question of the day. Normally he would have his assistant guiding him where he needed to go. But not this time, this time his assistant was the one in need on assistance. He was terribly sick, eating random plants while on patrol would do that to a leopon.

Mlinzi cursed under his breath, something highly out of character for him. What had he been thinking? Just nibbling on a random plant like that, and then not even taking the time to remember what it looked like! He loved that leopon like a brother, but he could be a really dunderhead when he wanted to. The stress of the day's heat was beginning to get to him. He knew he needed to get this done and quick. Thankfully his coat color was giving him some slight relief but not nearly what one would hope for. Defeat began to wash over Mlinzi's body. He should probably just give up, and plead for someone to escort him. But he knew no one who would be up for such a task. N'Seka, his oldest friend, had a mate and responsibilities of his own now. He couldn't ask him to do it for him...

"Whats a guy to do then?" Mlinzi's sigh rumbled in his throat, mixed with a slight growl. He was irritated, and obviously irrational, what was becoming of him?

Dief paused when a smell of feline seemed to smack him in the face. His nose twitched a little and tail flickered at the thought of being in the presences of a lion. "Oh dear." He spotted an angry looking lion ahead of him. It would seem the heat was getting to him too, or that is what he assumed. He certainly was different than some of the other lions he had spotted a few months ago. The rainbow colouring certainly was nice though. "You appear to be in a pickle. One should sit in the shade if one is feeling hot. I myself was going to partake in a rest in a few minutes." Dief eyed the large animal before standing still awaiting the outcome of his suggestion. "Drinking is also a good choice to reduce heat exhaustion."

The sudden voice, made the male jump a few inches off of his feet. He'd been so caught up in his emotions that he'd forgotten to use the only sense he had left - his scent. Flustered, and obviously a little embarrassed by his own surprise, Mlinzi darted his head around trying to catch a scent. "W-Who's there?" Of course, whoever it was likely wouldn't give him an answer, which only drove him a little more crazy. "I-I'm not hot, i'm struggling with something else." He managed, through his hazy and rushed movements.

Finally! A scent! But, it wasn't lion? Hell it wasn't even feline! He took another whiff, trying to determine the species near him. It wasn't hyena, he'd met one of those before. So was it a dog? Hmmm. "State your name and location please. I .. I can't see you.." Again defeat swallowed him up, and he felt terrible for himself. How could he not determine who or what something was by scent? HE WAS GREAT WITH HIS NOSE!

Dief blinked in semi-shock as the lion before him jumped. "Well good sir. I go by Honorablelaw according to my people, but my birth name is Diefenbaker." He ambled closer to calm the lions nerves. "I see. I have often heard that talking about certain situations helps clear a mind and find possible solutions." Dief could see the other was getting worse and antsy. "I really think you should come with me into the shade well I partake in gathering water and if you want to share your story you can do so." He tilted his head and tried to appear approachable, it wasn't often that he ran into another that was so jumpy. "Do you know where you are?" He wasn't trying to be rude, he really just wanted to help.

"Diefenbaker...that name is very unfamiliar. You must be far from home." Mlinzi mouthed the comment, not really thinking about anything other than what exactly was standing in front of him. He hadn't really stated what he was, so he had to assume it was a wild dog. There really was no other option. "Alright i'll go with you." He mused, nudging his head at the male, and intending to follow his scent to a resting place. He didn't really know if this stranger would understand his story, but if her really wanted to know it, he saw no reason to hide it. "If you have the mind to listen, I have the voice to tell it." He laughed lightly, trying to ease his reaction to the male's approach. But his next question threw him off a bit. Of course he knew where he was.

"I do, to some extent. But the real question is do you?

I'd find out before you go looking for water."
His comment may have come off as sounding rude, but he hadn't thought of that when he spoke them. Now all he could hope, was that Dief didn't take them that way.

"Well, not too far from home. I live with the PekeNa tribe, have lived there my whole life. A tribe only run by wild dogs. Though I have been pondering about traveling to the rogues for more adventures or possible companions whichever comes first. Then settle down in those lands. Um, I do indeed know somewhat where I am. I have yet to become familiar with the rogue seeing as like i stated have lived in Peke'Na my whole life. I suppose that familiarity would take time." He grinned at the other male gesturing for the other to follow. "Sometimes the unknown can be fun, an adventure if you will. Where ever your paws take you sometimes is the best journey." He turned around and set a slow walking pace to the water.

So he had been correct, he was a dog. The confirmation made him a little more comfortable with the situation. At least he knew exactly what it was he was communicating with, and he really didn't sound all that violent to him. He shrugged it off though, far more interested in listening to this new male's story. His next comment however made the male flinch, "You may not know exactly where you are afterall. You are on the outer skirts of the Kitwana'Antara. We are a friendly enough pride, so long as you watch your borders." Mlinzi paused a moment, "You'll be able to tell when its time to turn back." The winds blew softly around him, helping to cool him off. "Ah, I wouldn't know much about the adventure route though, I live for my pride and sadly am not allowed to leave it." An obvious frown crossed Mlinzi's face, he loved his home. But sometimes he just wished he could get away. Experience life from a different perspective. But sadly, that life wasn't meant for him.

"Oh dear," Dief 'hmm'-ed and looked off into the Kitwana'Antara lands with squinted eyes. He had wandered farther than he had originally planned. The lions next words made him pause at the possibility of never being allowed to leave, it was one thing that Diefenbaker would not have liked to happen. He valued his freedom, but to each their own he supposed. "It would appear you were correct on the lost assumption. I really shouldn't dally around long then, it would cause my pack to worry. These things happen though you get so caught up with walking... well you loose time and location." Dief debated for a moment before nodding in silent agreement to leave.

"Adventure is how you make it I suppose. You can still have such fun in your own homelands. I have yet to explore fully Peke'Na lands. Sorry to be so adrupt, but I really must be going. I do have responsibilites back home that I must fulfil by the end of the day." He nodded his head in farewell.

He wasn't really shocked, by the male's abrupt change of attitude. Truthfully he had expected it, some who were more comfortable with their surroundings would stay a while, but none would really stay long. The pride had a very strong aura around it, and it was pretty heavy. So instead of giving his new companion a lecture on how not to worry, he simply nodded in acceptance. He knew it would do him no good to argue, and even if it would, he didn't want to change how someone felt.

"I completely understand, I have things of my own to return to." He nodded his head back respectfully, choosing to stay in his sitting position a bit longer. He supposed he'd stay until he felt the male was out of his hearing range, then he would assume he was truly gone. There really was no other way to be sure. "Have a safe trip back my friend, and may you find many adventures along the way!"

END.
