Who: Anastacia, Axel, Isobel, and Zeke
When: August 23rd, 2012; about 6pm
Where: Lab 305
Weather: Sunny, about 80 degrees outside

Today was the day! He had gotten the call at lunchtime, but due to being at work, the vet had been unable to show up at the Lab until just after 5:30pm - needing time to change and running into Anya en route to the building he now sat in front of in plain clothes rather than his veterinarian get up. The spider queen - who had been window shopping the entire afternoon - had come along merely because she had become bored of that particular stretch of shops in Durem's downtown area. It was a nice change of pace. Although it was a hot, sunny day today, the breeze off the ocean made this part of Gambino feel perfect to the spider queen.
Like Zeke, who was sitting on the stair, the Virus Frei was outside, but lounging on a towel in the shade near to where her Guardian was seated. She was calm about the whole situation - apathetic to what would occur sooner or later as usual - but Zeke...Zeke was a happy mess of a man.

Ever since meeting Axel and her charming twin sister, Zeke had nothing but good feelings toward the dark haired woman. He had been all too excited to present Axel with her bottle and vial and then months later reclaim it. Time had passed since then - month after too long month - and now she was finally here. Zeke had gotten the jitters when he had gotten the call this afternoon and they had only increased since. His knees bobbed as he sat there, watching the road before him like a hawk as though Axel would drive right past without a proper landmark out front. The only thing keeping the vet from pacing or doing laps up and down the walk was an ice cream bar he had gotten off the local ice cream truck, which was melting a little too fast to be considered safe to wander aimlessly with it, lest it fall off its stick and hit the ground.

Well...that and Anastacia occasionally making a quip at him to keep him grounded.

"Calm down already. You're acting like she won't ever show up."

The mildly annoyed tone brought the vet's eyes from the far end of the left side of the street to the spider queen who was staring at him over her arms.

"She might not!" Zeke said with dread, but then smiled at his ward and shrugged. "I can't help it. It's exciting!"

Anastacia didn't see how - this happened every so often and it was the same routine: Guardian shows up, Zeke whisks them off for a little while, Guardian returns plus Raevan, they do some sort of paperwork, and then the new pair leave. Boom, boom, boom - one step after the other and with no change to that make up. How droll.

To the vet's exuberance the spider queen merely shook her head and laid her chin back down on her crossed arms, giving up making the vet see reason for now. Too many things excited him, and far too many of those were mundane. The least he could do was get gung ho about something that actually had a reason to have a fuss made over it! Like her dressmaking; even though Zeke was properly gung ho about that, she chose to ignore that fact for now to mentally preen herself over her work and how well she wore each piece she completed. Now that was something worthy of excitement.

When the phone called Axel had been waiting for months now to receive finally came in, she practically dropped everything to go. The planner had a wedding that day and she had been at the salon getting her hair done and she literally bounced out of her seat yelling, the hairdresser was startled as was the rest of the wedding party that had come with her. They all looked at her in wonder, eyes wide waiting for her to deliver the news. “My baby is here!” Axel was all smiles; they glanced at each other wondering what in the world she was talking about. “I adopted and she’s finally here.” She didn’t feel like explaining the whole thing, adoption was the easiest answer she could have come up with. The answer satisfied them and they all congratulated her, the bride even asked her if she wanted to leave to go pick her up, Axel refused, and she would have to go later tonight.

It hit her then, it was a she! A girl! Oh my lord, how was she supposed to keep calm until tonight? The answer was simply, the wedding once everything began kept her mind off her Raevan. It was only between the few moments of calm did Axel really start thinking about her. It was a she, and she still had no name for her. The thought troubled her greatly; she was going to have to name her something once she got there. The thought put a small damper on her mood, but she was whisked to scolding some kids who had apparently stolen a book from one of the girls. Even in heels and a dreadfully long dress she managed to catch up to them, grabbing the book from their hands, and offering a scolding before going back to find the girl. Glancing at the book, Axel turned it over and read the back. It looked like some sort of medieval story with a female heroine. Axel handed the book back and went back to taking care of things.

As soon as she could leave, Axel exited and hiked up her dress to run to her car. She probably looked like an idiot, and even more so when the long dress got caught in her door when she closed it. The poor pale pink dress was going to get mascaraed today; Axel threw off her shoes to the side and started her car while putting her blue tooth into her ear. “Sister.” The phone dialed the number; Idylla’s voice hissed at her, she had disturbed her in the middle of a meeting. “You may want to go out the room because you’re going to scream. She’s here.” Idylla was slightly confused; her sister had stopped bothering her about the Raevan a while ago. “My Raevan silly, now get back to your meeting I need to go pick her up.” Axel hung up just as Idylla began screaming she was an aunt in the middle of her meeting. There was one more phone call Axel made, to Jezabroux, thought she was unable to reach him and left a message instead.

It looked like Zeke and Anya had been waiting for her, Axel tried parking her car as best and closest she could before jumping out the car while grabbing her shoes, she was going barefoot for now. “Zeke!” She yelled, waving as she made her way over to them. “So she’s here?” She said as he approached them, glancing at Anya and offering her a smile. “Hello Anya.” But her eyes were back on her guardian for now, she was just far too excited, she wanted to see her right now! It was then Axel took the time to timidly put her shoes on, there was some decorum to follow after all, plus she didn’t want to seem silly in front of her Raevan.

After Anya's - for now - final chide, it didn't take long for Axel to arrive. Zeke had finished his ice cream in that time and wiped his hand on his shirt for lack of a napkin, and in good timing too. As soon as he was done inspecting his fingers for now liquid orange and vanilla sweetness, Axel's car drove past, making the vet launch himself from the stoop with enough sudden force that it sent Anya on momentary alert.

"Stop it alread--"

"She's here!" The jitters that had been contained to Zeke's knees now spread once more through his entire being. He bounced in the spot he landed in with all the eagerness he had in him, waving violently as Axel parked and made her way over to him in the most unexpected get up he had ever seen. "Axel!"

When the woman was within reach she was pulled into a bear hug. Zeke squeezed her to his chest and picked the woman off the hot sidewalk, rocking her side to side with all the good feelings he had coming out of him now. Laughter started up and he couldn't suppress it even as his lips pressed firmly into her cheek, setting the woman back on terra firma and then holding her at arms length to get a good look at her. She looked gorgeous, as usual, but again so strange in her attire! Not that Zeke was unfavorable to her outfit - it would probably make quite the impression on the young lady waiting inside!

"She is," Zeke said breathlessly, unable to stop himself from hugging the woman again. He laughed happily, pecked her on the cheek again and then pried himself off of her, lest they get too many stares from the pedestrians across the street or - in even worse fashion - delay the meeting for far too long! "She was born just this morning, she's a girl," - obviously but he wasn't thinking straight at the moment, jibbering on like he was - "and I know she's going to love you."

His eyes practically sparkled as he said that last part, taking in Axel again. It had been ages since he had seen the weddng planner - far too long in fact - and now that she was here, he was damn near in disbelief! Excitement had that effect on him, and as Axel slipped her shoes back on, Zeke couldn't help but turn to Anya and present the pink-clad woman next to him to her.

"See? I told you she'd show up!"

Anastacia shook her head at her man, sourly casting him off. Of course she'd have shown up at some point! There was no need for concern!

"Good afternoon." The spider queen nodded her head politely at the newest arrival when she was greeted in turn, floating from her towel-covered spot to bring Axel into focus as the overall presence of pink caught her off guard. When she had the wedding planner in view, Anya was like Zeke in that moment - surprised and yet pleasantly so by what Axel was wearing. For the spider queen however, it was wholly because the dress was gorgeous. The cut, the way it fit its wearer, the little details additions that stood out upon it, even the color was lovely in its paler hue. Anya's disgruntled feelings started to evaporate as she studied it and the one who wore it, mind already whirring to remember the details and overall presence there of for later reference and possible use.

As Anya became obvious in her staring, Zeke had to chuckle and muffled the sound by pressing a fist to his lips. He wanted to say something to his Frei, but was at a loss for what that wouldn't embarrass the dress-drawn Widow. Besides, she was doing no harm and he did so like to see the obvious shine in her six eyes that said the gears in her head were turning. Instead, he turned to Axel and took one of her hands in the one he had just had to his lips, giving her a gentle tug.

"What do you say we go and meet your girl? There's a bunch of paperwork stuff you'll need to read and sign, but I think that legal crap can wait until after." He winked at Axel. "Besides, we can't really meet her hanging around out here!" Zeke squeezed the hand he held, ready and very much willing to whisk the wedding planner off to the proper room, but all at her discretion.

There was no bigger grin than the one on Axel’s face when she got closer to Zeke and he pulled her in for a hug which she returned gladly. Her laughter joined his as he rocked her; they could electrify a whole city with how excited both of them were.

"A girl!" Oh lord, this is what she had dreamed about! A little girl, well not so little, to do activities with! "Oh Zeke, I’m so happy! You’ve definitely made my day so much better with this." There was no denying it; this was the best gift she’d ever received. "I hope so." This was the moment of truth, she was going to meet her Raevan and Axel was starting to feel her nerves were starting to take over her excitement. What if her Raevan didn`t like her? Zeke had said she would love her, but now that the moment had come it was nerve-wracking! This wasn’t a child that you’d birth yourself and helped grow, yes the Raevan would be like a child, but they were already grown up physically and from what Axel had gathered, they learned quickly too.

"I have to admit I'm a little nervous." She said softly, glancing at Anya as she starred at her. Axel figured then she as probably starring at the dress, and that maybe both parties were wondering what she was doing in such a getup. "I was at a wedding earlier, explains the whole dress factor." She hadn’t wanted to wait much longer, so she’d skipped the undressing and went straight to the lab. "If I’d been home, I’d be much more casual." The heels she was wearing were killing her feet from standing up all day, she should have brought some flats with her or something else, and she could have avoided driving shoeless too.

"Yes! I’d love to meet her right away," Axel chuckled, she was practically pacing on the spot now. "I won’t run away with her while you’re not looking." She teased Zeke, returning the light squeeze. A thought struck her then; she still hadn’t found a name for her. Horror suddenly formed on her features, her name was probably going to be going on the papers. "I just realized I haven’t even thought about giving her a name yet…" Axel would follow Zeke then, still contemplating her name choice. At least now she knew it was a girl, so she could focus on such names. "Maybe I`ll figure something out when I see her." She muttered quietly as her mind went over some of the names she’d always thought were pretty, none stuck out to her yet.

To hear that he had made her day with the news, Zeke could only beam with pride. That was the sort of thing he lived for after all. Squeezing the wedding planner's hand again, the vet chuckled as she explained her curious get up.

"Don't worry about it, Axel. I think I'd have been a little incredulous if you had stopped home to change!" He had been in a similar situation as her, where he had shown up to take Anya home while wearing his work clothes. Granted, he hadn't been able to go home and change because Alex had driven directly to Gambino like a madwoman and the very thought had slipped his mind in that time, but still. If Axel had gone home and changed it would have been a surprising thing for the woman to have done in his opinion because there was so much excitement about what was to come. He couldn't see how anyone would want to delay!

"Then let's go meet her!" When he was agreed with, Zeke immediately lead Axel to the door and opened it for her, letting the woman step into the lobby first before looking back at his ward. "Coming Anya?"

The spider queen, eyes never leaving that gown Axel wore, followed without comment to her man. Her mind was a whir of activity - what color she could remake that gown in, what changes in design she could make to suit her own tastes, how it would look if the bell of the dress was shorter.

What if I...hmm...

When Anastacia passed him, Zeke shook his head in amusement but then wasted no time in crossing the threshold after the two women. When he was inside, he darted past them, clearing the space between the door and his desk with record time. He stopped dead before he could collide with the sturdy metal table and scooped the folder with all of Axel's information off its top and tucked it under his left arm.

"I know you won't run out with her...yet." He winked at her and crossed back over. When Axel spoke of not having a name prepared, the look on her face made Zeke immediately loop his right arm around her shoulders. "Don't worry. If it comes down to it and you don't have a name when you see her, I'll sit with you all day and help you find one."

He gave her a friendly squeeze and an assured look as his words faded into the air. When he was certain she took his words as genuine, he gestured with his right hand toward the lobby door.

"She's waiting in Room 2 just down the hall there. I'll explain a little more when we're walking, 'cause we've got traditions here." He beamed again, then once more looked at his Frei. Anya was hovering to Axel's right, lips moving silently and a hand on her chin as she scrutinized the waist. Zeke muffled a snort by pressing the side of his left hand to his pierced lips.

"Anya," he said to try and get her attention, "I'm taking Axel to see her newborn now. Would you like to come along?"

The spider queen didn't hear most of what Zeke said, but the question he spoke was caught at the tail end and broke her of her trance. She looked up, blinked slowly at the pair, and pieced two and two together after a moment of staring at them.

"What...Oh. No." She shook her head and a frown creased her red lips slightly. "No thank you."

"You sure?"

"Yes," her voice took on a hint of annoyance and she gave Zeke a look that was reserved for him. "I'll stay here."

"All right, Anya." Zeke shrugged airily. "We'll be back soon!" He did know that would be her answer when he spoke to her, but as always, he wasn't one to not ask when she was with him. Leading Axel to the back of the lobby, he pulled the glass door wide. Dropping his right arm from her shoulders, he swept it out in front of him. "Ladies first!"

When Axel was through, Zeke took step beside her. Now that they were en route to meeting the lovely Miss Chameleon, the excitement started up in the vet's veins again. He bounced at Axel's side, beaming as they marched to the proper room. When they reached that place, Zeke once more darted in front of Axel, raising his left hand to tell her to stop walking.

"Okay so..." he said with a look he hoped was playful and cryptic, "about those traditions I mentioned. Other than Dr. Kyou or some extenuating circumstances, one of the traditions we keep here is that the Guardian is the first person to see his or her Raevan. I haven't seen her, Anya hasn't seen her, none of the staff has seen her except, you know, the obvious person." He chuckled, caramel brown eyes twinkling beneath his dark brows.

"What I'm going to do now is knock on the door to alert her that we're here, then I'm going to open the door. Once it is, go right in, okay?"

He waited for the sign that she understood this and then turned to the door fully. Although he was so, so ready to see this lovely lady, the vet couldn't resist putting on a show to tease the poor woman that accompanied him - including clearing his throat and making couple "practice swings" with his fist nearly touching the door before doing it for real. When he did on the third swing, the sound of knuckle against wood sounded out. Zeke dropped his hand and gripped the latch, pushing it down and setting the door free. As it swung open he stepped back, once again holding his arm out in that 'ladies first' manner of chivalry and throwing in a polite bow for good measure. He needn't say anything - she knew what to do.

I apologize for taking so long! D:

So much excitement going on, Axel could barely keep up with it all. She followed Zeke to the door, thanking him in the process when he opened the door for her, but her eyes were already all over the lobby looking for the one thing she really wanted to see. Axel slowed down, paused even in the lobby. She was a little disappointed when her eyes didn’t stop, but chuckled and smiled when Zeke entered her range of vision to run to his desk.

Axle nodded, taking in what Zeke was saying but her mind was wandering hundred miles an hour and her words weren’t forming properly in her mind. So, all she did was smile and follow him again, entering the lobby. Now she paused again in front of the door, Axel could feel her heart beat pumping loudly through her chest, she felt like it was about to come out from its cavity any moment now. Her fingers curled and uncurled, she took a deep breath.

“Okay.” Axel shook her head, and she chuckled when Zeke began teasing her. “Zeke I swear I will have a heart attack if you don’t open that door!”

The chameleon Raevan had been floating around the room, nothing really catching her eye as none of it was colorful enough for her. So instead to keep herself entertained she twirled her shawl around her, watching the colors move. Most of her attention and time was spent doing this, until she heard voices and she let the shawl drop down as she floated over to the door. Putting her ear to the door, she could hear a deep voice and then a lighter feminine voice. When the click of the door began, she moved back quickly grabbing her shawl and looking for a place to hide.

There was no wandering eye this time, when Zeke pulled the door open she was right there in front of her. Axel’s hand reached out mid-air stopping as her mouth fell and she stopped breathing for the briefest second. Her Raevan hadn’t noticed her yet because she had her back to Axel, and when she finally turned it was like someone was stopping time for her.

The chameleon had been looking for a place to hide but was defeated when the door opened, making her freeze in place. The silence was a little too eerie for her taste, what was behind her? What was happening? Slowly, the Raevan turned her head to look and was surprised at what she found. Whoever this was, her colors were pretty and it’s what got her to completely turn towards the stranger.

“Zeke,” Axel managed slowly. “She’s amazing.” Finally, she stepped into the room and cautiously approached the Raevan who was looking at her with an air of uncertainty. She stopped in front of her, waiting, arms at her side and too heavy to move. All she could manage was a small smile and a quiet “Hello.” As if they were the only people in the world, Axel couldn’t describe her happiness. It was like she was staring right at a renaissance princess of some kind, decked in gold and pale beige she gave off the air of an Italian. She was as blond as could be, which was slightly ironic considering Axel had black hair, Idylla red and now they had a beautiful blond in the family.

“Hellloo.” The chameleon tried to repeat, tilting her head as her eyes now moved to the woman’s eyes. Oh those eyes, they were so pretty, now that was a color worth investigating! Slowly, she floated closer and reached out a hand with and extended finger to touch. The womans reaction however was less than pleasant and it made her float away from her holding her hand to her chest in a hurtful manner. Whatever she’d touched it looked like it wasn’t good and it had been oddly wet and slippery. Her hand extended out towards the woman again in the hopes to maybe try and help her, but she didn’t know or understand how.

That had been…Unexpected. Axel had let her Raevan get closer but she had not foreseen her poking her right in the eye. Accidently, Axel had yelped in mostly surprise as her eye began to water from the unwanted touch. Her hand covered the eye as she tried to control the tears that were flowing freely from her eye now. “Ouch.” As soon as he saw the scared expression of the poor girl, Axel closed her eye and extended out her hands to catch the Raevan lightly by the shoulders. “No, no don’t be scared. It’s okay; it’s not your fault.” Her eye was still watering as she blinked a few times.

All she could do was stare at the woman before her, even as something leaked from her eye she was still smiling at her and trying to be friendly. Her voice caught the Chameleon’s attention, for some odd reason it stirred some hidden memory within her, but she couldn’t remember or think of why she’d even know her. After all, she’d come out of a tank and not much else had happened since then. So she did the only thing she thought was appropriate, slowly and gently wipe away the liquid that was flowing with her fingers.

Zeke stuck his pierced tongue out at Axel and her exasperation, an action that only added to the mischievous look on his face. The expression didn't linger too long, however, as Axel breathed his name and stared forward into the room he had just revealed to her. Curiosity got the better of him and the vet immediately followed when his companion took her first steps into the room. When his eyes found the Chameleon, he too was awestruck.

She was absolutely stunning. Sun-kissed skin with an elegant braid-and-bun of blond hair, the Frei had the prettiest gold eyes to compliment her entire cream and gold being, from her petal wings to her lacy ribbon. Shocks of glorious color - a blessing from her soul no doubt - came in the form of a rainbow shawl she had around her shoulders and the cloud around her star-shaped rune. The latter twinkled all the colors of the spectrum as he watched the Frei move from her initial spot to the place where Axel stood now.

Zeke took the moment to turn and shut the door as quietly as he could, but the 'ouch' from Axel made him whip immediately around.

"You okay?" He began with alarm in his voice, but he stopped as the other human gripped her Raevan by the shoulders to stop her from moving away. Axel's tone eased him and it was then the vet dropped his papers at the desk in order to move forward and place a hand on Axel's shoulder. He offered the Frei a winning smile as he neared the pair - friendly and most definitely happy to see this long awaited newborn. "Hello there," he said sweetly, "my name is Zeke. Welcome to the world, little lady." He rested his hand on Axel's shoulder and glanced at the woman's face, smiling all the more at the look of joy he saw there. He leaned his head in just a little toward her, and lowered his voice to speak as privately as was possible to the wedding planner at his side.

"What do you think, Axel?"

Ravina Loki
Back in action finally! biggrin Sorry this took forever!

Axel waved her hand at Zeke to let him know she was fine. “Yea, she just sorta poked me in the eye.” It was the oddest thing she’d ever felt or seen? Either way, she was just happy that her Raevan was finally here in her full glory. So pretty, she reminded her of a Venetian lady from old Italy, especially with that lovely skin. At least now the initial shock was wearing down and all she wanted to do was take her home, show her around and start teaching her. Then there would be painting her room and decorating it, of lord so many things to do now.

Her eyes still on her Raevan, Axel barely turned her head towards Zeke but she did lower her voice to a quiet hush. “Perfect…” She shook her head gently. “Perfection doesn’t even come close to her actually.” Nothing else in the world would be better than this moment in time right now, this instance. This was going to be in her memories for as long as she could remember, for eternity as far as the guardian was concerned.

The Frei’s attention on the new person coming in was immediate; immediate in the sense that she was staring at his hair with wide eyes. As if in a zombie trance, her hands raised and she floated closer to him. She gave a glance at the woman first though, what if this one started getting all teary eyed too? But she wanted to touch his hair so bad. Like an impatient little puppy, the Chameleon began floating around the two as she fought with her decision on touching or not touching. In the end, her sense of freedom won over.

She stopped floating by his side, her hand reached out to pet gently as she could the side of his head. She liked how some of it was standing up; her fingers touched that part next, head tilting in confusion as to how exactly it stood up like that. Then she was playing with his bangs, so soft and nothing like whatever she’d poked on the woman. The Frei gave a loud laugh as she began to use both hands now to play with his hair, always softly of course and no tugging. All she wanted to do was touch the color on his head.

“Isobel please stop.” Axel’s tone was gentle but firm, the name slipping easily from her lips.

This snapped the Raevan’s attention right back to the woman and her hands dropped to her side as she floated over to the woman now. The tone of voice had implied she ought to pay attention and perhaps not be doing what she was, was he going to cry too? Isobel cast a quick peek his way to make sure he wasn’t. “Eeezzoobbell” The Frei tried to feel out the name out loud, she made a face at how hard it was for her to pronounce. Was this who she was now? Pointing to herself, she tried again. “Iso…Isobel.” The woman smiled at her, she took this has doing a good job.

Zeke patted Axel on the back when the woman answered his question, smile softening considerably as he looked between the woman next to him and Frei floating just before them. The Chameleon was quite the looker indeed and he would be lying if he said he wasn't enamored with her vibrant shocks of color amid her overall cream and gold classiness. He wondered what Anya would think of her, imagining her elegant outfit would be quite the draw for his aloof Widow, but as the pretty Frei moved toward him Zeke's thoughts went to curiosity. When she started to touch and then play with his hair, amusement took over and he started to laugh just as Axel told her ward to stop.

"Don't worry, Axel, it's okay! No harm done." The vet beamed from ear to ear, running his left hand through his bangs to fix the muss they had become. The name the woman had uttered was not lost on Zeke, especially as the Chameleon tried her best to parrot the name right back to her Guardian. "Isobel, eh?" He watched the Frei point to herself and Axel smile in return. "I think she likes it."

He liked it too, although his opinion on the matter was not important. It fit the lacy, striped figure before them; elegant and sweet. It was also unique and what better for a being such as a Raevan? Zeke couldn't think of anything and so he bobbed his two-colored head in a nod and hummed a pleased note in the back of his throat.

"It's nice to meet you, Isobel." He smiled warmly at the Frei then turned to look at her Guardian. "I might need you to spell that out for me when we get to the paperwork. I definitely don't want to get that wrong!"

Sorry for shortness D:

“I think she likes it too.” Isobel floated away from the two, glancing around t things and poking and prodding at things around the office. Axel kept an eye on her just in case she did something she wasn’t supposed to. “I think I am good on that paper work now.” Turning slightly towards the Raevan she called extended her hand out towards her. “Isobel, come on over back.” Axel made a head motion. The Raevan turned to look at her own, head tilting slightly wondering what it was that she needed from her. Axel made a come here hand gesture and that’s when the Raevan clicked in. She floated back and grabbed her guardians hand softly while her other hand wrapped around Axle’s arm.

Zeke smiled and laid the file out on the desk in the room. The previous paperwork that Axel had put her name to were in there, tucked behind a new - and final - set of papers awaiting those pen strokes. Isobel's make up had already been written upon them in Zeke's forced-neat script, but the line for her name was blank. The vet procured a pen from his pocket and gave the top a click.

"How would you like her name spelled?" As he spoke, the vet filled out the areas that called for a date and the ones that required his own signature as Lab staff. It was the latter where his penmanship fell into its usual scrawl - a sharp E and F for his first and surname's beginnings followed by a series of squiggles for -zekiel and -arris that didn't really seem to make those letters. When he finished, he hovered the tip of the pen over the name line for the Chameleon Frei, waiting.

Axel followed Zeke and waited as he wrote things down and she thought about how to spell Isobel’s name. Seemed pretty straightforward. She hadn’t really done any research on it. “I guess how you say it? I–S-O-B-E-L.” The frei in question continued to look abut with her death grip on Axel. She momentarily looked at what Zeke was doing up close and personal but soon lost interest because she was busy staring at his hair. Isobel relaxed her grip on Axel and then released her to float around the space and observe things. Axel glanced at her once in a while to make sure she wasn’t getting into any trouble. “So where do I sign?” She was almost done and then Isobel would be all hers.

"I-S-O-B-E-L..." Zeke murmured each letter in turn as he put them down on the line. Like the Essence and Soul, they came out neat and able to be read by anyone who would wish to look at the file now or in the future. When he finished, Zeke straightened and turned the file toward Axel.

"Here, here, and here." He tapped each spot in turn with the pen before handing that over too. "Once you've got them all signed, she's all yours! Signed, sealed, and delivered."

The vet winked at the woman, then turned his attention to her ward. The pretty Frei was examining her surroundings and he couldn't help but wonder what she'd think of the world outside this room.

"You're almost ready to go home, Isobel. Are you excited?" He put on a big, sunny grin for her, hooking his thumbs into the belt loops of his jeans and bouncing on the balls of his feet.

Axel took the pen from Zeke and wrote her name down where it was needed. Done. It was a done deal. Forever. She couldn’t go back now. Isobel was all hers. “Wow. “ The guardian took a big breath; she was now a…mother? Isobel turned at the mention of her name and floated on over back grabbing Axel in that death grip of hers once more. “Hm.” She gave him a large smile. “Time to head on home now,” Axel turned to Zeke. “Thank you so much, it has been a pleasure and will continue to be in the future. I would hug you but.” She looked down at the arm Isobel was holding on to. “I can’t thank you enough.”

Zeke gave the file a cursory look over. Everything signed in the right spots by both of them, he closed the cover and tucked it under his arm, grin spreading all the farther. At the mention of Axel hugging him - but being unable to do so - the vet laughed.

"No worries! You can give it to me some other time!" Another wink was given, and he gestured to the door, opening it for the two women to pass through first. "Here, let me see you out. It's only right."

He led them back to the lobby - which was minus Anya as the queen had taken to the vet's office to catnap after the long delay - and again held the door out open to the two of them.

"Have a safe drive back home, and if you ever need anything, don't hesistate to call, alright?" He looked over the newly met pair and smiled warmly. The feeling of a job well done filled his chest as did the one that told him these two were going to get along famously in the years to come. "And don't be a stranger! We'll have to have Isobel and Anastacia meet at some point."

He walked out with them into the warm summer evening, watching them go with his hand waving in the air. "Take care you two!"
