Living a Secret Life - Once upon a time during an errant web search, a few years before her family moved to this country and Destiny City, Mei stumbled on the strange world of internet idols. Not those types who cried and begged to leave Brittney alone or who won fame by giving an interview which turned into hit single. Not those who just glammed up and looked pretty, showing off their breasts and assets. But actual cute girls who sang and dressed up, the epitome of cuteness and innocence. Internet fanboys could look but not touch and become extremely devoted fans.

Mei was fascinated. Though an introvert by nature, she felt that computer monitors put up a screen where she could truly hide her own insecurities. The internet was the perfect audience - one where she didn't have to look at real live people.

At first, Mei thought it would be fun to create a page of her own, a place where she could post up some cute photos of herself and the songs that she sang. It had meant to be a joke, but her rise to stardom was fast and it got to her head. Now she is a regular net idol, updating her page nearly everyday to finally get the love she never got from her parents. This is the person that Mei dreams to be - if only real life didn't take its toll.

Computers - Mei enjoys the wonders of computers and online gaming. It gives the mostly addled girl some sense of accomplishment to put up her secret website, to get fan mail, and to pretend to be someone completely different than who her parents want her to be. Plus, her mother hates computers. She seems to think that they should only be used for study, if at all. It's REBELLION. Take that, mom. Mei has also begun to trudge into the world of hacking. She's only a beginner, and feels that if given the right instruction she could become so much more.

FOOTBALL!! - Ever since Mei moved to Destiny City one year ago, she's become fascinated with football and other sports which involve strategy. It seems like such a great way to relieve some aggression! As if she'd ever play it. Mei loves the strategic aspects of the game: how the players learn their plays and how they execute them. While she would love a chance to play these games, she feels that she isn't strong enough for it. Still, she enjoys watching them on television, at the parks or at school, and will religiously follow her favorite teams.

Virtues:

Intelligent -- Mei is s-m-r-t. She doesn't go to Crystal Academy just because her parents donate a whopping sum to them. She's got a nicely toned brain and she ain't too afraid to use it. Mei is an academic type, with a strong emphasis on politics, strategy and war. Not many people know her for the girl who likes to sing and dress up on the computer. Instead, they know her as the brainy nerd who they can come to for homework troubles.

Wise - Along with having that high IQ, Mei is also wise, which is helpful in dealing with her and other people's emotions. She has the ability to put all things into perspective, weighing out the pros and cons of people and actions before she makes a final judgement (unless someone gets under her skin, of course). Because she's able to keep her emotions in check and impartial (most of the time), she comes off as a fairly zen person.

Defiance - It is called a lost virtue: "It is its own means, and its own end." While Mei isn't exactly a rebel without a cause, she believes that even the smallest defiance in the heart of monotony can help bring out the true identity of a person. She stands up for what she believes in. Her parents want her to be a doctor; instead she wants to sing, and defies them by playing about on the computer and being a "star" in her own way. If something doesn't sit right with her, she will look into it more. And if she disagrees, she'll try her own way to defy it. Perhaps someday the small things that she does to stand up for herself will turn into much larger things. Only time will tell.

Flaws:


Please Don't Look at Me -- Mei is introverted, somewhat socially awkward and a bit of a loner. She doesn't like confrontation much, especially after some of the (one-sided) fights that she and her mother get into. When she does say something, she's also a bit blunt and to the point, which may hurt someone's feelings ... which of course is something that Mei doesn't want to happen. She'd much rather be a singer than a doctor. But because she's so self-critical, she thinks also that she can't follow her own dreams, thinking she has to hide behind the computer to make anything happen.

Don't Poke the Bear - Mei has a problem with her parents (especially mom) being overcritical. She can't do anything right, despite the fact that she gets straight As. The girl tries her best to keep her emotions inside and tries to be as chill as possible, but it just leads to pent up frustration. If someone puts pressure on her, she snaps. If someone thinks she's wrong, she snaps too.

My Little Glutton - Mei enjoys food and other pampering things to great excess. She can't seem to get enough of it. Whether it's getting another scoop of ice cream to buying another computer game because she has the money at the moment to staying asleep for an extra few minutes: if it makes her feel good - whatever an item or an action - then she will wallow in it until being forced otherwise. On the other hand, she can't help but be a glutton for punishment either. Is someone angry at her? Then she wallows in the sadness or hurt that this conflict has created. This could color her as selfish, greedy, exhausting or just plain idiotic if she finds something that will conflict with her duties as a friend or senshi.

Secret Life: I know I say this to a lot of people but much more information would be appreciated. How did she get into this? Did a friend introduce her? Did she stumble across a website that had these confident girls singing in cute costumes and thought “Hey I can do that too?” Plus you mention her singing but that seems to be an after thought to this hobby. When did she get into singing, how well can she sing? Is this just about a cute girl dancing or does she have some real talent. Does she have singing lessons forced upon by her parents whom she resents and then re-uses this talent to rebellion by going on these sites? There is so much more to extend here!

That goes for the other two hobbies as well, more info would be nice but I don’t see the others needing major tweaks like this one. I am surprised though that her parents don’t put a security lock on her computer/ ban websites or just take it from her. Is she a bit of a hacker/computer geek? Can she get around these types of problems? (works well with her intelligence) Or will she run off to the library to use theirs instead?

Football is fine too but has she always been into sport? Did an event spur her on to join up? Boxing can relieve much needed stress so why did football take her fancy so?

Virtues:

Intelligent: (Is that intentional to leave an ‘A’ out of smart? If not that’s hilarious XD ) Intelligence is great, but it needs more fodder. If it’s academic what does she excel in? Maths, Science, Computers?? Or is she a jack of all trades and master of none? Does this come to her easily or is she smart purely for her parents forcing her to study day in and day out until she can’t not know the equation for pi?

Mostly Laid Back: This seems like a tag on virtue, one that doesn’t really shout out “character depth!” or if it does to you then it needs much more work. Do you find it a virtue because of her parents? The fact that she doesn’t run of ranting and screaming every two seconds due to stress she lives through everyday? I think with the flaws you have added they seem to clash and need further information and detail.

Flaws:

Please Don't Look at Me : This is a strange flaw to have based on her hobby of posting her secret life. Does she wear a masks in these pictures? Does she use an alias? Surely if someone was to spot her in the street with her internet stardom then she is going to get mobbed? I can see why she may be shy being kept away studying or having only computers to communicate with people so that bit is fine.

Don't Feed the Bears: Again this seems like a tag on flaw, since you’ve already mentioned that she is very laid back and that it would take a lot to get to the stage of her snapping then why have it? If anything it would be better if you said that she did snap easily for a flaw and replace the laid back virtue with something else. I think it would fit her character well with her having over baring parents and as soon as someone comes along putting pressure on her or telling her she is wrong she just snaps and starts shouting back, making the argument worse because all her pent up anger comes flowing out!

Likes to Eat: Again this isn’t a flaw unless you really want to take it to the extreme. I like to pig out and eat fried chicken till it hurts and then not excise which, sadly, equals my big fat butt! But it’s a price I pay and I wouldn’t say it was a personality flaw but more of a bad choice.
So if you do want to keep it I think you need to change the flaw to that of a addictive personality which she has chosen food to comfort eat with. That may affect her body size (making it larger) or if she purges (throwing up after eating) which although very traumatic would maybe fit her personality as something else she can control. But this is an extreme flaw to take on, make some time and research it and you could make it a very interesting part of her character. Or again it may be worth looking at an alternative flaw.


Senshi: Unfortunately summoning pandas as a weapon can not be used. Even though they are pandas it falls under using a Youma based summoning and controlling of an animal for an attack which senshi can not do. Plus these attacks seem exceptionally strong and would have to be toned down as well.

You can use an image of a panda but it can not be a physical intelligence that attacks for you. The images of pandas could be used for distraction purposes if you still want to use them in an attack? Or a lot of people actually look at the mythology behind their chosen sphere and develop an attack from there. (For example the black ash myth, Perdita could use the same symbolisms as the story aka pandas with ash wipe their tears away, hugged each other, covered their ears from the crying to gain their black markings with the ash – Her attack could throw an imprint of these markings onto her opponent which could obstruct their vision or hearing, not powerful at first but then by eternal stage it could fully blind/deafen an enemy for 3 – 5 seconds while she gets an attack in! Of course we must be careful not to steep on anyone’s toes and use actual ash as the attack since I believe someone already uses it.

But of course that is only a suggestion!! Good luck!

re: Hobbies -- I added a lot more fluff in there to try to explain things better. As far as Football and other sports are concerned, she just watches. She'd probably break if she was on a real sports team. xD

re: Intelligent -- Haha. S-M-R-T is a Simpsons reference. I can't help putting that in there when I can. Added a few things to that.

re: Mostly Laid Back -- I changed two of her virtues. Mostly Laid Back became 'wise', in that she usually weighs her options before acting on anything. It makes her seem less emotional and more zen.

re: Please Don't Look at Me -- I added a whole bunch of fluff in Secret Life to hopefully explain. Basically, it boils down to that you can be a whole different person online than you are in real life. Whereas she would be shy with people in the real world, the computer/internet provides a buffer where you don't have to look at the real person.

Most of her traits fit in with (or try to fit in with) both the senshi name of Perdita and with the duality of a panda being cute/gentle but fierce. The asteroid called Perdita is named after a character in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, where the character is really someone else.

re: Senshi attacks -- I clarified the wording in the attacks. They are not actually real pandas but just energy that takes the form of them. They don't have any intelligence at all, so they can't dodge any attacks like a youma can. They're just in the same vein as, say, Mars' Fire Soul Bird or Jupiter's Supreme Thunder Dragon. I also cut down the delay times and gave the super attack less damage.

As much as I like the panda story you mentioned (and it's the only panda myth I can find!), I wanted to keep the military aspect of the attacks (Blitz, Blitzkrieg, Human Wave) as they mimic their respective military strategies. Mei is pretty big on strategy and war. Pandas may be cute, but they're fierce when crossed.

Hey, Ryndilee! This is a cute quest and I love her hobbies! Her virtues look pretty good to me but right now defiance isn't totally reading as a virtue to me. I think it could be, though! Maybe if you added a little more about how her defiance isn't so much rebellion as it is her standing on her own two legs or openly resisting things she doesn't agree with (and always standing up for what she thinks is right?)

For flaws, I think My little glutton might need a small bit of information added onto it. Right now it feels like a very materialistic trait and I can see why it might be applicable to a wide variety of situations, but can you go a little more into why people see this as a flaw of hers? Does it make her come across as greedy (does she not share?) or selfish? Does it affect her health or put her into debt (does she spend money she doesn't have because she has to have more stuff?)

For her powered side, I think I need just a bit of clarification on her basic and super attacks! After summoning the pandas, how does Astarte release them against the target? Is the attack meant to be a distraction or an offensive attack? I am not sure if it can be both at this stage (since it gives the attack a little too much variety, unless she picks her target at the beginning attack and the pandas distract them by running around their feet and might give the sensation of running into them/trying to trip them?) If the pandas do actual damage then I think they would have to 'attack' as soon as she casts the spell instead of loafing around before hand since that gives too much variety.

For her eternal attack, I just wanted to make sure that all these pandas do is pin their targets and don't actually do damage? I think that at this stage ten pandas to pin people down/pinning five people down for three rounds might be a bit much. I think if it was halved it would work, though! If she could summon five pandas that could pin up to three people at once (maybe for up to two posts?) That way nobody is pinned for long enough to sustain massive damage or be totally helpless but it still gives Astarte plenty of time to do whatever she needs to?
