 Taking a small break from his duties as a bouncer for the Sikukuu pride, Ciaran ventured out past the borders, back into the rogue lands. Out here he could get away for a while and keep an eye out for others who may be trying to find the 'party pride' as it was referred to by some.
He was glad there was a slightly breeze today; it made it so it wasn't as hot for him to explore for himself. He took in a deep breath and let his claws out to claw at the ground below his paws. It was nice being in a pride but sometimes he liked to break away from the system and be out here where he could run in to anyone.

Nyota yawned and jumped off a rock outside her so called 'den' she sniffed the air for a scent of easy prey, as she was feeling a bit lazy today. She had decided to sleep in outside her den in the sun as she liked to relax like that. There was a breeze now that ruffled her fur, and she caught a scent of a small plump mouse wandering around Nyota's den. "great! Easy prey" shee thought as she ready herself to pounce. it was an easy kill, and a good enough meal for now.
She headed toward the small watering hole that wasn't too far from her den, and still she sniffed for signs of visitors, as they were getting more common these days. she smelt no lions nor cheetahs nowhere, but it was only the beginning of the day.
The water was in sight now, and Nyota decided to run seeing as she relized she was very thirsty. she took great gulps of water and lied down, basking in the wonderful weather of the day

The male took a deep breath in before exhaling as he looked across the land. It had been a while since he had done more than walk around and contemplated going for a run. He took another breath before starting a slow jog.
Once he started getting into running form, he started to speed up, enjoying the feel of the air blowing through his dark blue mane and the release of energy. He started to see what looked to be a pool of water up ahead and slowed back down before he got close to it.
Once he reached the small watering hole, he knelt down to take a drink to rehydrate his body. Once he was done, he let out a contented purr and looked around. It was then that he spotted the orange lioness lying near the water.
He nodded his head at her, "Hello."

She looked up at him, and gave him a welcoming smile "hello, you don't look like your around here" he looked like he perhaps came from pride, but she wasn't sure. She put her paws in the water and splashed them lightly "where are you from?" she just had to ask, she wasn't always so curious, but every visitor she had seen she just needed to ask.
Her stomach growled yet again in protest that she was still hungry, so she leaped into the tall grass and found yet another mouse to eat, and killing it easily she ate it quickly and decided it would be polite to ask if he was hungry as well. "are you hungry?" she was fine with a yes or no, she could easily turn him into a hunting partner if he was just a rouge passing by. She stood and stretched her body out before lying down again and splashing her paws gently in the water

The large male stretched out and shook out his mane. "No, I'm from Sikukuu," he replied as he nodded in the direction he had come from. "Are you with a pride or are you by yourself?"
He watched as she splashed in the water a bit before going into the grass to find something to calm the growling in her stomach. When she returned and asked if he was hungry, his stomach replied before he could. "Yeah I could use something to eat."

she got up and nodded to him to follow. "come with me and we can hunt together, I work up an appetite like you wouldn't imagine" she smiled and then thought about the pride he said he had came from, she hadn't heard about it before, so she may as well ask.
"I'm by myself, and I have never heard about Sikukuu, you could tell me about while we hunt." she smiled again and walked into the tall grass before sitting down awaiting him to follow.

Ciaran grinned at the offer to hunt and stood up to follow her. "Alright, do you know of any herds nearby?" he asked.
Ciaran stretched out before following after her into the tall grass. "Really?" he wondered how long she had been in the rogue lands and if she had ever been in a pride.
"Some have taken to calling it the 'party' pride because we through celebrations each month of the season. We have one going on right now, mostly for the younger pride, the Gala of Learning."

Nyota wondered if the "party pride" was for her, and thought she would continue looking for the just right pride. "I don't know any herds, but we can take a look" she smiled and walked along the plains with him.
"I don't believe I told you my name, I'm Nyota, and if j already introduced myself then, oh well" she chuckled lightly from her lack of memory in that moment if introduction.
She looked around and sniffed the air cautiously, ready to fight, or drop down into a position for pouncing. She smelt nothing and moved on, she wasn't sure of what he would think of her hunting skills, as she thought she was pretty good herself, others thought he opposite.'tell me more about your pride,if you don't mind." she was curios, maybe this would be the pride for her, and she just needed to know more about before considering visiting it.

Ciaran nodded at the orange lioness. "Alright," he replied and followed her through the plains.
"No you didn't," he replied, "I'm Ciaran."
He stopped and sniffed around the area as well as the air, hoping to pick up the scent of anything nearby. When she started to move on, he followed. "The pride's sectioned off into four clans representing each season. During the year, each season throws a few festivals to celebrate. The Vuli take the autumn, the Mrao take the winter, and so on."

Nyota was fascinated by the way the pride was separated into seasons and how each one had its own festivities. Still, she wanted to look for other things that would interest her, but this would be a choice for sure "thats a neat way to celebrate. thats a nice name" she added, smiling as they continued on their hunt.
she sniffed again and smelt a faint scent of wildebeest close by, unless it was something else, as she hadn't take down many big animals in her life.
" i think i smell wildebeest or something not far off that way " she nodded her head northeast. she ran ahead a little bit and sat "wanna have a bit of a race?" she jumped to her paws again after saying that, getting her body and mind excited and ready for speed, if he said yes, which was the answer she was awaiting to hear from Ciaran.

Ciaran nodded at her when she complimented the pride her belonged to and his name. "You're is a very pretty name, Nyota." he commented in return.
When she told him what scent she thought she had caught, Ciaran put his own nose to the ground to sniff. He nodded to her once more, "It is a wildebeest, probably a couple of them." he confirmed.
He considered her suggestion of a race and how it could impact their hunt. "We could, though we may want to stay quiet so we don't scare off the prey."

She thought about how it wouldnt be the best idea to race while hunting, what a silly idea! "oh yeah, guess i wasn't thinking great, not used to hunting with other lions and such, and thank you" she smiled sheepishly and walked along in the grass to get closer to the future prey.
Slowly they got closer and closer, she could just see the wildebeest now, over the hill, it would be alot easier to bring it down with Ciaran, seeing as he was strong, and probably took down more large animals then her. she slumped to the ground and crept closer, then stopping, waiting for Ciaran to tell her what to do next.

Ciaran nodded and crouched down low to follow after the bright lioness. He could smell the scent of the wildebeest getting stronger as they got closer to them. Between the two of them, they would probably be able to take out one of the larger ones, or two of the smaller, younger ones. He could almost feel his mouth watering at the thought of the taste of the young, tender meat.
He stopped near Nyota and surveyed the herd. "Alright, do we want to go after one of the larger ones to share or go after a couple smaller ones?"

She thought taking down a couple smaller ones might be good, young and tender meat was always best she thought.
"lets take down a couple smaller ones, the tender meat will be delicious"
Her mouth watered as they wandered closer to the herd, ready to strike. This was an exciting way to hunt, with other lions. she enjoyed it, but never got to, as food was becoming a bit scarce, seeing as there were many lions about the rouge lands now.
she waited for Ciaran signal to strike as she waited patiently in the tall grass.

Ciaran took a deep breath and nodded while he contemplated how they would do this. It would be a bit more of a challenge to get two of the younger ones but they could probably get it done; hopefully with no injuries to either of them.
"Alright," he breathed out, "let's go," he whispered and started to slink closer to the herd. Once he got close enough, he spotted his prey and prepared to pounce.
