Umeme shuffled around, uncomfortable with her current location. It wasnt' really like her to leave the Amazons, but she just felt like today was the type of day to get away from it all. It didn't help that she had pretty much been chased away by her fellow pride members. She worked so hard sometimes, it was good to know they cared about her. But, she didn't like to leave, so yeah, she was slightly upset at the abrupt 'day off' she was given.

Growling under her breath, the lioness had absolutely no idea what to do with herself. She was alone, and without purpose. What the hell did other people do when they weren't protecting their Queens? Oh right - she thought, most people didn't do that. She was the odd one here.

A bird flew above her head, casting a dark shadow overhead and the lioness followed it with her eyes. Was this really what rogues did all day? Sit around and stare at birds?

"Psh, weirdos." She hissed the words and picked up her pace once more. Not really sure where she was going. But knowing that in the end, her feet would lead her where she needed to be

Well that definitely hadn't been what she'd expecting. Far from it actually, and for a split second she nearly had a heart attack. Allowing herself to flee behind the nearest tree for some shelter. As she sat there, trying to catch her breath, she went over in her head what had happened. There had been a bird ... then it was a giant lion... a ... God? She'd met one once before, perhaps this was another one?

Peeking from behind her tree, she took note of the large wings and stature of the giggling lion. Definitely a God.

"That wasn't very funny you know! You scared me half to death!" Having regained her sense of composure she now emerged from behind the tree. A not so happy grimace plastered across her face. What exactly did this male think was so funny?

This God was a weird one, very much unlike the lion she had met before. He was very strange, and apparently loved to laugh at weird things. Well, he could think it was funny all he wanted, SHE didn't think it was. Instead she frowned at his laughs, since when was it funny to scare someone? OR to even laugh when they were startled?

His laughter only made her more angry, but she could tell this lion wasn't a threat. So for his own good she held back, only keeping her obviously unhappy look on her face. "No actually I don't think I want to laugh. Laughing is ridiculous anyway. It means you're wasting your time! And what are you? I mean I know you're a God, you're wings are a dead giveaway. But don't gods usually stand for something?"

Umeme frowned as he flew nearer, she took it as a sign of mocking. Or maybe he was just really trying to get her to laugh, but she wouldn't. There was nothing funny about what he'd done.

Come to think of it, had anything she'd ever done been funny?

Umeme growled in pure agitation at the male. He was really pissing her off, not to mention offending her at every turn. "I AM NOT UPTIGHT!" She yelled, her voice echoing for yards around, as her claws sheathed and unsheathed into the grass beneath her. "Just because someone has a more serious lifestyle than you, does not mean they are uptight."

Umeme frowned as the male pointed to his heart, commenting on how hurt he was by her comment. "Yeah well, did you ever think maybe the things you say hurt others - HERE?" She touched her paw to her own chest, still fuming with anger. "Maybe instead of laughing you should think twice." She kicked up the dirt around her, and tried to ignore the lion flying right in front of her.

"Pft typical." She rolled her eyes as the god introduced himself as the God of laughter. Couldn't he be just a little less obvious? Y'know sort of like Talfrid... She swooned for a moment as she thought of the regal god she had met just days before. He was polite, calm, and hardly had any faults. She hadn't realized at the time, how much she'd miss him when he was gone...

Shrugging it off, the beyond annoyed lioness, rolled her eyes once more at the male and continued on. "OK Mr. God of Laughter, surely you have a name. And don't even try to say it's laughter either!"

She wasn't uptight, she was serious. And dammit all if she wasn't serious for a reason! But this God knew nothing of her troubles, or her reasons for being who she was. Yet he so easily made fun of her. It boiled her blood, but she had to control herself, she couldn't go acting all rude and mean to a God. Couldn't they curse you or something? Talfrid had never mentioned anything about curses .. but then she'd never thought to bring it up with him!

"I don't have a mean side..." She tried to control the volume and tone of her voice, but with little luck. She really wasn't a mean lion, she really wasn't a sweet lion either. She was a silent lion, always had been. Silent lions were the best type, they got the job done and in the easiest way possible. They involved no drama, nor heartbreak. Yes, she was a silent lion.

His silly girl comment only drove her more crazy. "You'll have to make up your mind there. I think its highly illogical that I could be both silly and serious at the same time." She glared at the lion, holding back a bit of a smirk. There was somethign off about this lion .. but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

"Actually i'll gladly tell you my name. You just have to be sure to never forget it.

I am Umeme, Elite Guard of the Queens of the Amazons." She stood tall, sticking her chest out in pride. "See Iiro, i'm not uptight after all."

But she didn't have a mean side! Not once before in her life had she ever been mean to another. Though perhaps some may have taken her silent nature as something a little more rudely intended. She tried to shake it off, but this lion had really gotten to her. Was she really mean? No, she wasn't. But, he said everyone had a mean side, surely a god wouldn't get something like that wrong. "Well if that's the truth, then that means even you -" She paused, extending a paw to reach out to the male and tap his nose. "Have a mean side. Is that fair to say ... Iiro?"

By this point Umeme was really holding back the urge to smirk. She didn't one to flash even the tiniest of would be smiles, in front of the God. It would just prove him right, and well for some reason she didn't like that idea.

Hearing his question of the Amazons Umeme's mouth nearly fell open in surprise.

"It's my pride Iiro. A female pride to be specific. And the pride doesn't make me non uptight. Telling you my name does." She nodded matter of factly and continued on. "So ... are you going to stick around all day or do you have other godly things to do?" Raising an eyebrow in Iiro's direction, she sat on her rump watching him float in the sky.

Perhaps she'd said a little too much about herself. The last thing she wanted or needed was this guy following her home! "That won't be necessary, i'm sure there a plenty of young lionesses out here that would love to have you make them laugh." Her eyes were rolled, and she was trying to seem as uncaring as possible. But he was right, she could appear rude, even when she didn't want to.

Maybe now was her time to remedy that? But, wouldn't it seem weird if she just let go of what she'd been holding onto? Just a bit ...

"Well if its all the same to you Iiro, i'd like to be on my way. I think its about time I start heading back to my pride." She frowned a bit as she tried to prevent herself from looking the male in the eyes. "And don't you even think about following me! I know you can turn into a bird now!"

Finally, she gave in, giving way to a small but very obvious smile. She then dipped her head to the male, and took her leave. All the while her smile still present.

Even if he was the god of laughter, he should have been the god of smiles.

That was the first time Umeme had smiled in a long time, and it would likely be the last.
