Here I'll teach you how to make some post layouts for your rpc (role-playing character)
╔══════════════╗ Tools ╚══════════════╝
There are tons of tools, but the most important ones are Bold, Italicize, and color.
╔══════════════╗ Pictures/Emotes ╚══════════════╝
Most of the time you can look around photobucket and find a picture that you might like (although I wouldn't suggest claiming that it's yours. The best thing to do is put; art by (name) somewhere on your layout.)
Also, you can insert emotes into your layouts (it might not look as good, but it won't mess up any coding). I find the best way to do this is having at the bottom of your post Talking to: (Self Explanatory) Going to: (Also Self Explanatory) Mood: (Here's where you put the emote.)

Now to the part about making them. First start out with a good picture, not too big as to where it doesn't fit in the post, but not too small as to where there's too much room in the post. (Small pictures work, but I'll be showing how to make layouts with pictures that are medium sized).

Okay, so now you have a picture and you're ready to make a layout. biggrin Not quite yet. mad You need things to make it look fancy! Everything you need can be found by pressing "alt" and pressing numbers on the number key next to the arrows, but that would take forever and I don't have time to really explain all the different keys because there are practically more than I can count confused .

So as I said before it would take forever to actually teach you all the shortcuts because... well... I don't really know all of them myself. Which is why, in most layout tests you can find a big list of everything you can get from the shortcuts.
So now that you have all the pictures and fancy designs, it's time to start coding. Now at first you might try and it doesn't come out right. Like the words are under the picture when it's supposed to be to the right of it. (I've had that problem too). The problem is, there isn't enough space being occupied. Which is why some people put a part of role-playing in there (maybe a really long paragraph). Most people just put [text] repeatedly .
So now you have all the tools and everything, but how do you get it all into place? You use align tools. (Also you can align the picture with " style='float:left' />right after you do it. Otherwise you might mess up the coding. Now say that a part of your word is not in the right place (like it's supposed to be in ╔═╗ and it's not). Here's an example on what to do.

as you can see the word "Example" is not in the middle of the box.

add some x's or anything else.

color them white, and it looks like the word is in the right place.
So you finally have your code ready, but you try it out in the guild, and it doesn't look like what it does in the forum! The reason is that forums are more "compatible" to coding errors. Such as if your colors are in the wrong place and there's one color over another. It acts like one of the colors isn't there so that the layout shows up normal. Guilds on the other hand are not as updated as the forums are and have a hard time understanding errors.
A guild would take the red coloring and leave the blue out so that it would look like [text][text][text]. A forum would take the blue coloring and leave the red out so that it looked like [text][text][text]. If need be, I'd suggest having a Guild workspace and a Forum workspace so that no mistakes will be made in the event you are using a Forum Layout for a Guild.

You can use these for colors, or if you want more unique ones, use a color wheel. (I'd suggest using the gradient text creator on tektek.org) Here's one of my custom ones ^_^
I have another add on for you. Here are all of the colors you can get with names instead of codes. They're easier to remember and often shorter than the codes. Just take the word and put it in the color spot.
