Traveling was doing Maya no good, Pacju had wandered off somewhere and Maya could only assume it was to find food. The young Alkidike hadn't been able to carry enough for both her and the Radaku and so the beast was left to fend for herself. Not that it seemed to bother the creature. Stumbling on a few stones Maya could feel her pendant tap against her chest as she straitened herself. These mountains were harsher than Maya wanted to pretend they were and she seemed to be finding herself in awkward situations out here.

Flipping one of her dreads over her shoulder Maya paused, she could feel movement in her antenna not far from where she was standing. Not wanting to risk another attack from the strange creatures that inhabited the inhospitable land Maya quickly drew an arrow from the quiver sitting on her hip. Her bow was already held in her hands as she was walking so loading the arrow in took little to no time. Pulling the string back and letting her breath out to steady herself Maya let the arrow loose.

Whatever was out there, she wasn't going to be it's next meal. All she could do at this point was hope she had scared whatever it was off. She didn't enjoy the thought of having to use her weapons, but no matter what she tried it was as if Sauti was determined to become her grave. All she wanted to do was return home to Jahaur and gain some much needed rest.

Maya's eyes grew as wide as saucers when they fell on another Alkidike. It was the same one she had caught glancing at her one inside the cave when they fought the strange legendary beast. She had heard tales of her, and her ferocious fighting styles and the damage she could inflict when angry. Though some she believed to be more made up tales than anything else. She was rushing towards Maya rather quickly and scrambling to dodge her, Maya hissed when the very tip of the spear collided with her wrist. Thankfully the wound wasn't very deep.

"Defending myself apparently!" Maya's voice rose an octave as she pulled another arrow loose from her quiver and lept back a couple steps before fitting it against the string and pulling back. "You didn't have to attack back though."

The arrow was sent flying once again as Maya shifted on her feet to jump around the trunk of a tree. She was trying to ward off the unfamiliar Alkidike before the fight could go any further.

Breathing as her back rested against the trunk Maya heard the sound of her arrow breaking flesh. That wasn't right, she had only aimed to scare her off from attack again. Pulling another arrow loose from her quiver Maya blinked gripping it tightly in her hand. She could feel her heart booming against her chest as her ears strained to the land around her, the movements in the ground were always her weakness. Ever since she was a child she had never been strong with determining what she felt with what was reality.

Swallowing a dry lump in her throat Maya was preparing to turn around and apologize to the Alkidike. Her mind reeling and buzzing with fear her muscles poised and then a strange sound from behind her popped her fight or flight reflex. She had meant to run and yet the way her body had been curled with instinct the arrow was set loos again. Oh Aisha help me, she mentally pleaded.

Maya lept back with a hiss as a sting raced across her right shoulder blade. Eye's darting up to the girl and narrowing into slits as she reached for another arrow, lining it up she aimed for one of the branches in the strange tree above her. She wanted to stop any oncoming attacks and put distance between herself and the Alkidike she was inevitably making an enemy with. It wasn't what Maya had planned on. This wasn't intentional!

Letting the arrow slip from her fingers the twang of her bow vibrated through the wood and her fingers as she heard the arrow thunk into the wood. Then the creaking sound as the separated limb began tumbling towards the ground.
