Gray storm clouds roiled overhead as Berenice walked, glancing upward uneasily. Although a little rain wouldn't hurt her, she hated when the water mussed her mane and tail. To be honest, lightning scares her, but she would rather not admit that. Berenice tossed her head nervously as she searched for shelter. She spied a grove of trees up ahead and cantered toward them. As she settled underneath a cluster of trees, Berenice sighed, and wished she weren't out here alone.

Annabelinda looked up at the lingering gray clouds above her head and shivered as a cutting wind cut through her fur. Her light brown eyes scanned the area for any sigh of some place to hide from the rain that was bound to fall from the sky. Soon, she saw a stand of trees and a soft smile crossed her face. She galloped in the direction of the trees, just as the rain started to come down. She could feel the coldness of the droplets against her ears as she soon got to the trees and slid in.

Apocalypse's head turned slowly, getting a good look at his surroundings. He had followed the clouds from home and lost his senses in the fog, the fun of clouds and the coolness of them as well. Standing in horse form, his hooves flattening down the grass as he looked around. Hazel eyes caught sight of something as his ears picked up the hasty retreat from the on coming rain, rather the now falling drops. Glancing upwards and shaking the water from his coat again, the stallion glanced in the direction of what seemed like at least one mare. She was standing close to if not completely under a grove of trees and sheltered from the shower that was to fall and refresh the land. Turning in that direction it seemed like a good place to start. At least with the company of others he would not be lonely... Maybe, unless he scared them away. Time was the only one that could tell and time was hardly on his side.

She smiled back as she regained her composure. The sound of the raindrops hitting the leaves of the trees was surprisingly loud, and Berenice supposed it was raining even harder than she'd expected. She looked around and watched as the water found its way to the ground. She noticed the fluffy-haired stallion walking in her direction. Remembering her manners, she introduced herself to the mare. I'm Berenice, she said.

Berenice rolled one shoulder in a shrugging motion. I was feeling restless and looking for some company. I might not have found anyone if it weren't for the rain... she said cheerfully, but it always does make a mess of my mane. Berenice flipped her head, rearranging her hair. She peered up at the rain, snorting slightly as a drop slid off a leaf and hit her between the eyes. What about you -- why are you stuck out here in the rain?

Yeah, I hate it when the clouds sneak up on you like that, Berenice said. She peered shyly at the other mare, observing Annabelinda's opalescent horn and cloven hooves. The other mare was simply beautiful, but Berenice had never seen another horse like her. She sidled up much closer to Annabelinda. So...where are you from, really? I haven't seen anyone as pretty as you before. And your horn is just amazing! Berenice smiled over at the other mare.

Well, I've got no family around here, Berenice said as she smiled, because I come from up there. She glanced up at the sky, a wistful expression on her face. If it weren't so cloudy, I'd point out the spot in the stars that I come from. It may not be the brightest constellation, but it's definitely the prettiest! she declared. I forget how I ended up down here, though... Berenice cocked her head to one side, confused, and thinking hard.

Well, however it happened, it sure has been a lonely adjustment. It's weird not knowing anyone, and it's been hard to make friends. Everyone here moves around in these weird groups... I think they're called 'herds'? So everyone travels a lot and they've all got close groups already. She sighed, but smiled at the other mare. It's nice to have your company. I'm glad we got caught out in the rain by mistake.
