It had been a little while since most of the refugees from other Weyrs had made their way to Trine..but Mercy and Aerith had not come with them. They had fled from the battle early due to Aerith's injuries and at Fick's parting words been far to frightened to reach out to anyone. At least..not until Aerith had rested and rejuvenated some.
The white had taken them from the battle field to a nice secluded beach, Mercy had not asked where it had been, the white had gotten the image from a couple of flits. They had spent several days there, resting, Mercy's medical training previous to being impressed had gone a long ways to helping their wounds to heal but they couldn't stay alone forever and so..when the white was fully rested they had decided to take a chance and check on the only other Weyr they knew to possibly be friendly.
Appearing above the Weyr Aerith called out to the watchdragon but circled high above..not yet willing to set down in case there was still fighting. Marks of the battles could be seen clearly in destroyed building and scorched earth but while they could see masses of people hurrying to and fro..they did not seem to be fighting. 'I think it is safe..' Aerith finally stated, flying a lower pass just to be sure. 'I see some familiar dragons..no whers..and there is a gold..surely a gold would not turn against the riders..'
'Probably not' Mercy agreed, peering at the ground before spotting a small clearing 'Let's land over there...we can always take off again if thing don't prove to be as they look'
Satisfied by her riders answer Aerith folded her wings and dropped swiftly to the ground, landing with a lightness that only a dragon as small as she was could manage.

There was indeed a gold sitting down on the ground, eyes ever watchful as her rider spoke with some of the healers that had come to request a few minutes to look over her injuries. Narisa had reluctantly agreed, after trying to tell them there were people with worse injuries and she'd be alright. But Cepheith had refused to move from this spot until Narisa had agreed. Satisfied, Cepheith watched the dragons that flew overhead every now and then, greeting the new ones that appeared and checking on others to inquire about their injuries or their riders.
The appearance of the white dragon startled the gold, her eyes blinking curiously. She'd never seen this dragon before. Were they friend or foe? The watchdragon told her friend. Welcome, friend. You may find safety here with us as well as a place to rest and recover. I am Cepheith. Mine is Narisa. She paused, speaking with her rider. We would like to meet you, if you don't mind.
Narisa glanced up, face curious and interested in the small dragon. A white dragon?! It was enough of a surprise to chase away anything that may have been weighing down her mind. Waiting for the healers to finish and move on, Narisa patted Cepheith's leg and walked towards the newly arrived rider, a tired smile on her face.
"Welcome to Trine. I hope you are faring...well." She said with a hint of sadness in her eyes.

'The gold and hers wish to speak with us' Aerith supplied as they landed, her white head having turned in the direction of the gold as she spoke, It was not a gold she recognized but she was fairly certain that all of those were gone now. 'Alright.' Mercy answered as she slipped off her dragon and made her way towards the gold and her rider. It was always somewhat amusing to see Aerith beside a gold, it was like seeing an anthill beside a mountain.
'Safety is something we seek most keenly' Aerith told the gold before introducing herself, craning her head up to look at the larger dragon. 'I am Aerith, mine is Mercy'
While the dragons spoke Mercy bowed her head politely to the approaching gold rider. "If Trine is safe for Dragons then we are faring better then we were before at least" She told the other women with her own tired smile "I'm Mercy...Assis..well I was the Assistant Weyrlingmaster at Malvren..I don't really know what we are anymore" She introduced herself. Of course mentioning her title made her think of the students she had taught and her lips tightened slightly, she wasn't even sure how many of them had made it...were they here? Was Kleo's here? Wykla? Her other friends? She supposed she would find that out soon enough.

Cepheith tilted her head to get a good look at the tiny dragon. This was...unusual. She was used to the small greens. But this? The White one was fascinating! The gold rumbled softly and carefully lowered herself to the ground, trying to allow Aerith the chance to not have to look up so high. You will find it here. We have many from the other Weyrs already taking refuge. Please be welcome and know that we are happy to have another dragon among us. She dipped her head in greeting to dragon and rider as she spoke.
Narisa gave the woman a warm smile, wincing slightly as it made her bruised face hurt. "We are as safe as can be. But take heart and know you are most welcome with us. There are many from both Benden and Malvren here. And some still trickling in." The goldrider sighed, glancing around them at the aftermaths still apparent from the battle. "We...are short on housing, and sharing huts. But I'll make sure we find a place for you." She paused, looking back at Mercy. "I am Narisa, junior Weyrwoman of Trine. And...." she hesitated, "...an Assistant Weyrlingmaster would be of much help right now. We....we have many hatchlings not yet old enough to fly. Any help we can get in assisting them is most appreciated."

Aerith was keenly happy to be welcomed by the kind gold, it had been hard to loose her home but the thought that some of her Malvren friends might have made it here was a welcome one indeed. 'That is good to here - there are many from home that mine and I are worried about. Some of them quite young' The white told the gold, rather pleased when the queen lowered herself somewhat so that she could get a better look at her without straining overly much. The gold was large and bright and kind tempered. Moriath would like her, Aerith reflected, to herself, Moriath always liked strong females. Upon hearing the golden dragons rider Aerith ruffled her wings lightly and impishly stated to all present. 'Well I suppose that is one advantage to being a white..we don't take up much room!'
Mercy couldn't help but smile at her dragon's words. It was nice to relax a little bit now that they knew they were safe. The days in hiding had been worriesome..but Fick had said the Handlers had been looking for her, apparently killing or taking control of the only white on Pern had been somewhat of a goal among a few of them. The thought of being found while still wounded from their somewhat sorry attempt to help fight had been almost a constant fear. "Aerith has the right of it there, we don't take up much space...and I would love to help with the Weyrlings. I'm hoping some of my former students found their way here..although I'm sorry to say I saw a few of them on the wrong side of things as well....I can't imagine how terrible it must have been on those with even younger dragons. I was an apprentice healer before I impressed" she added, having eyed the other women's injuries "..if I can help there as well, please let me know."

Cepheith nodded her head, eyes hooding over slightly. Yes. We have some fairly young ones here as well. There was a clutch recently hatched and they are still too small to fly. But mine remembers seeing many from both Benden and Malvren arriving. Perhaps your friends are here as well? She hoped so, for her white counterparts sake. Then she chuckled, lowering her nose to very gently bump it against Aerith. I'm sure we can find you an excellent person to bunk with then! And please feel free to contact myself or my rider should there be any needs or concerns you and yours feel need to be voiced.
Narisa smiled with some relief mixing in with the exhaustion. "I am glad you two are so accommodating! It...means a lot. And I promise to make sure you find someone that also doesn't take up as much space." She added, looking towards Aerith with a smile. "So you don't feel engulfed by a large dragon." Her small spurt of amusement fell quickly at mention of the weyrlings and young ones. A sigh escaped, hand running through her hair as she looked around. "We have some very young ones here. Not even old enough to have had their first flights yet. But we've got many from the other Weyrs that have wound up here too. I believe they are all sticking together. But any an all assistance we can get to soothe their fears and help take care of the youngest ones would be a huge help." She glanced at Mercy. "I am saddened to say I have not yet had word as to whether our own weyrlingmaster has survived." Mention of her having some healer training made the goldrider really smile. "Thank you. We are truly lucky to have you here to help us. If you are not opposed, I could put you in charge of seeing that the young dragons and their bondeds are taken care of?" It would ease some of her own stress, that was for sure.

'I do hope so' Aerith replied 'We shall have to look for them once we are settled in, mine will not be able to rest until we know.' One way or another, knowing was certainly better then endlessly wondering. Mercy had not slept well the last few nights, plagued with dreams and worries about her friends no matter how much Aerith tried to send her soothing thoughts. 'we will be happy with whatever accommodations you can scrounge up..from the air things looked a bit tight'
It was easy to see that the goldrider was tired, Mercy felt a little bit sorry for her, while she and Aerith stood outside the general order of things in the Weyr the goldrider stood right at the apex of it and with that,Mercy knew, came a great deal of responsibility. "Anything I can do to help, and don't trouble yourself trying to accommodate myself and Aerith - we're kind of used to being engulfed by most of the dragons around us - even the weyrlings we teach are generally bigger by the time we're done with them" She added with a smile. She was rather looking forward to spending some time with the Weyrlings of Malvren - it would add a bit of normalcy back into her life. Normalcy that she had a feeling was greatly needed during such a time of upheaval.

The Gold glanced around them with a soft sigh, lowering her head until it was beside her rider. I hope you find them. And I wish I could be of more help, but so many have come that it is difficult to know who is from where. And this wasn't including their own Trine dragons that were still unaccounted for! They are tight, but do not worry, we will find you a place. Cepheith was confident in this.
Narisa gave Mercy a grateful look of appreciation. "Any and all help is very much welcome right now. But please, it's not as much trouble as it may seem. I'll be sure that you have a place to rest easy by this evening." A small chuckle met the image of Aerith and the weyrlings they taught. "I guess that is true!" The Goldrider placed her hand against Cepheith's snout, stroking it gently. "Well, if you are not opposed to it, I will have you be in charge of the weyrlings with any of the other assistants coming to aide you." Once they found them. "And...don't be afraid to come and ask me anything. I'll do my best to help you where I can."
