If had anyone had asked about how Amphi was coping with her whole ordeal well...She wasn't. She still didn't have a voice even after being back so long. And besides Roch and Danny, Amphi hadn't talked...or well explained to her other friends just what had happened to her.
Not even with Lizzy and Xiu. Those two should be told but...both were members of SEEDS and with Amphi having the tracker inside her...she didn't want to put them in any danger by foolishly talking to them about it. Or exposing the hunters to SEEDS and causing that whole network to fail in what it did best.
No...If had anyone had asked her how she was coping, they would've been met with a silent stare and a mermaid who looked at them with eyes filled of terror and memories of pain.
So instead of coping, she kept herself busy. Classes, homework, books, reading, hanging out with friends. Anything to make her forget her week in hell, and the faces that had caused it. Point in case now, Amphi was outside the monster dorms in the sunshine, her comet Levathia Story was curled at her side as she watched Dallas and Vaith Jr. duke it out in the grass. In her hand laid her cell phone where she was currently figuring out the camera options. It was funny because she had never really had the urge to play with it now.
As it was, she was delighted when she heard the shutter sound a picture of her sleeping minipet appeared on it. Maybe she could send it to Roch!

Yin did not make it out of his room that often anymore. Classes when they were absolutely necessary, though information seemed to go in one ear and out the other more often than not. Going out if he needed to check and ensure that Alexander was safe when it just bothered him too much not to. But lately Princess Eva had decided that she required more walks than normal, and so here he was again, trailing after her as she pranced and proudly wore the collar that the Crown Princess (Miss Danny) had given her. His eyes stayed mostly on the ground, but when he looked up he saw someone that had not been familiar to him scant weeks ago, but now he would probably recognize her anywhere.
Calling softly to Princess Eva he turned and made his way toward the ghoul and where she was in the sunlight. "Miss Amphitrite?" He called out to her. Not sure of what to say, but realizing now that he had seen her and was drawing closer to her that he had not really seen the others since their return...and they were the only other ones out there that had a clue as to what he was trying to work through.

Amphi jumped as she heard the soft voice of Yin-Cang and stared at him blankly. At first, all the memories of the room came flooding back, leaving her a little short of breath.
She continued to stare and realized that while she had sat in memories, she hadn't answered the mantis boy. She offered him a small smile and a pat on the ground next to her, her Levathia Story moving ever so slightly with a grumble and spew of cosmic breath.
She blinked and then again, realized that she couldn't talk to him and promptly pulled out her cell, holding it up for the Weremantis.Ramenli Hello Yin-Cang. What brings you out and about today?

For a long, drawn out moment nothing really happened. She was staring at him, and he was beginning to wonder if somehow her memories had been erased, or perhaps blocked. Then the ghoul smiled and motioned for him to sit down. He moved forward to do so but she was holding out her phone to him. He barely glanced at it before he sat next to her, though with space between them. "I do not require your phone Miss Amphitrite," he tried to explain softly. No, he did not need anything from the ghoul. Except perhaps, the comfort of being with someone that understood. Not knew, anyone could know what happened to them (not that he would tell just anyone), but to have been there. "I wished to see how you were doing."Did someone completely miss the purpose of the phone? When it came to Yin and technology, anything (bad) was possible.

Amphi blinked and frowned. Why did he assume she wanted to give him her phone?
She continued to stare at him and then pointed at the phone again.Quote: I don't have a voice so I am speaking with my phone! Read it Yin. READ IT.

She seemed fairly adamant that he look at the phone so he leaned forward and began to try to puzzle out what it was. The screen was tiny and his face scrunched up in concentration. She did not have a.. "v--vo-ice...voice..." he mumbled slightly, cheeks heating up slightly as he worked at muddling through the text. Once he read the words he reread them to piece them all together. "Wait, you mean to say that you cannot speak Miss Amphitrite? Are you ill?" He was rather concerned about that. "Would you like me to escort you to Nurse Cricket's office?"

She nodded as he read the text aloud and smiled at him. When she saw the blush though, her own rose up and she looked around shyly before ducking her head. Only when she was startled by his loud exclamation of her problem did she reach over and cover his mouth.
A little finger appeared on her lips as she shushed him and then nodded again.Quote: Not ill! I lost my voice when the hunters put the trackers in us... She shook her head no at the offer of Nurse cricket. She had no doubts about the Nurse's healing power but...she had no willpower to go and tell ANOTHER person about her parasite. She had trusted Roch's judgement in who he told but...She didn't want everyone finding out.
It was dangerous not only for them, but for herself as well. How many Halloween creatures would turn on the students with the trackers if they realized what they were for?
She tucked her knee's up and closed her eyes.Quote: I don't think it would be safe to see the Nurse...Thank you though Yin-Cang.

She. Was. Touching. Him. Oh, it was just to signal him to be quiet. He could handle that. He struggled through her next message, though there was a noticeable delay in their communication because of it. He looked up at her, worried when he finally finished the message. The hunters? Really? "It did not affect my vocal cords," he muttered. Her next message was also puzzled through, but this one he shook his head at slightly. "I would trust Nurse Cricket with my life," he told her honestly. The Nurse was one of the very few adults that he respected and trusted. She had helped him out several times, had been there for him, healed him, trained him...no, she could be trusted. "But I will not speak of this to her if you do not wish me to."He buried his face in his hands as a realization hit him. "Miss Amphitrite I think...I may have told a couple of people about being tagged. I was trying to warn them about me but...I believe I referred to all of us that were captured. Alexander and Miss Danny would know." He felt absolutely horrible about it. He did not want others finding out about him, and yet he had done the same thing to her and the others he had been with. "I am truly sorry Miss Amphitrite, that was not my place."

WHY WAS HE STILL BLUSHING?
It made the mermaid blush all the more and she quickly drew her hand back, looking a little confused.

Althought, when he took his time with the next message, Amphi couldn't help feel that Yin was very adorable. Even with the worried look, she waved her hand to take her phone back.Quote: Ah...I guess it was just me then... She looked really sad. Wondering if maybe Mei or Amrita or even Zar had faced this problem. If Yin hadn't, it was safe to assume the other captured students hadn't. For some reason though, it made her ma. Why did her voice lockdown and no one else's! Why did she suffer through the same trauma and the one thing she valued was the only thing that gotten taken away from her? She clenched her phone so tightly, a small crack was heard before she relaxed and closed her eyes.
She couldn't let this happen, she couldn't let them win by sending her into a panic rage over something she might be able to gain back.Quote: I would trust Nurse Cricket as well with most of my life but for this matter....I will find another solution without letting others know... Besides of course Roch and Danny and Xiu and some others who she had not told but sure that they had heard from other friends.Quote: why would you be sorry? We are trying to protect our loved ones in our own way. She honestly couldn't be mad at the weremantis because she had told Roch that he needed to stay away as well. It was again, only a matter of time until someone passed it along to someone else. At least he hadn't told the member of seeds...especially with Xiu and Lizzy being the admins in that group. She couldn't bear her two closest ghouls to be aware of their issue...yet.
She reached over and wrapped her arms around Yin though, a small soft hitch of breath and a little tear fell because....she hadn't really cried since then and knew that this was a good comfort. A good way of telling him that no matter what they did, it would turn out good or not.

Yin kept struggling through the texts, but self-consciousness from the reading in front of someone as well as a ghoul's proximity that was not a child (like Miss Danny) was stressful. All he could do was accept her decision, and not pressure her. They had enough issues to worry about that they did not need to deal with added stress from those who could actually know what they were going through. Still, he did not fully agree with her last text. Yes, he was trying to protect them but... "It was still not my place to let them know that it happened to you as well, but yes, I do want them to be protected. I...I tried to stay away from them but it did not work out very well." There seemed to be no easy solution to that problem. Then she wrapped her arms around him. So many ghoul touches in such a small amount of time! Then he noticed a tear falling and...well, he could understand. In his entire life he had only done this maybe once or twice, but an arm lifted and wrapped around the ghoul, loosely holding her as she returned the hug of sorts. It might have felt distinctly awkward, but he was trying. "We will find a way to get through this," he told her. He did not say that it would be okay, because it would not be. But somehow they would muddle their way onward. Somehow they would figure something out.

Ah, Amphi cocked her head at the boil and continued her shy smile. He was adorable, yes. In such that he seemed so bothered by her closeness or well...maybe he was bothered by her texts? She would go with the latter and leaned in to nod her head.
The phone was taken back admist the hug though as she pulled back, only blushing as his hand came around.

And more tears came (why was it when you try to hold it in, it doesn't really work?) and she wiped them away and she shook her head, letting the curtain of hair hide her face as she held the phone out again.Quote: Yes, Sorry, I didn't mean to cry! We have to be strong to get through this no? If you ever want a friend to talk about, please come see me! I will try to help you like you have helped me Yin.

It was so tempting to give in and cry along with her, but Yin was going to be strong. Really. Then she held out the phone, more stress presented to him as he awkwardly patted her back and then let his hand drop. Not going to cry. He was not going to give in to that anymore. Of course, a single tear might have fallen. "Oh it is perfectly fine Miss Amphitrite, I am not bothered by your tears." Except that he was. Ghouls should not have a reason to cry. "And you are always welcome to seek me out as well. We need...we need to stick together, you know? I think that any of us that...were there...should be safe around each other at least..." It was really just rather depressing tho think about, but that tiny bit of good he was going to try to cling to. "And perhaps I can be of assistance to you as well."

Amphi blinked as she felt the tear from Yin and then smiled through her own tears. Her hair being pulled away from her face as she wiped the tears again.Quote: This has helped me so much Yin. I hope that we can really be good friends. And yes! We should be safe with each other. She waited and then smiled again.Quote: If you don't mind, then perhaps we should go on a friendship date together! We can go to town. At least, to make good memories in case anything happens. Oh my jack so depressing to think about.

At least she understood. It was a shaky and poor reason for a friendship, but it was what they had to offer each other. Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, we both were tagged, so friendship maybe. Something like that. Anything to try to seek out security in the crazy world that they lived in. The next message had him embarrassed and flushing. A date with a ghoul? He...he did not feel about her that way. Dates just because they were friends were still not acceptable. "N-n-no dates Miss Amphitrite, I could not be so bold." Did she really want to be left alone with a passed out mantis? "I-I am not opposed to good memories but no dating!" Adamant on that fact.
