It was just getting worse as time progressed. Dis was ignoring his orders for the most part, rolling his red eyes and only obeying when it suited him, or Marcus pointed out how he'd get into trouble. Nice to know the weapon still cared if just enough. He did manage to communicate in ways that were not direct saying 'I think I'll explore the beach.' or 'I wonder what your house feels like.' Dis was wanting to explore, and each time Marcus pulled him back he could tell it just aggravated the weapon further.
Now Dis wanted to see the Library to 'smell the books'. Marcus had a guess that Dis was using it as an excuse to find vampire erotica. He'd asked about often enough from Marcus to go looking for him. But that was sidetracked as the vampire had something else catch his eyes. Or rather some one.
"Well, if it isn't golden boy Gale." Dis purred it out as he walked over to the short hunter, smiling. "And... his chosen." Dis licked his lips at that one.
"......Gale, you're free to hit him." The vampire was smiling, hands to himself for now. "By the by, I do like it rough." Marcus tried not to slam his head against the wall.

Walking with Jinhai felt more than a little weird. It wasn't like having one of the other Halloween creatures beside him; this was someone who was inside of his mind, someone who Gale shared a solid, unbreakable connection with.
Someone who wasn't supposed to be walking beside him - and yet here he was, his arms held at his sides, an oddly calm expression on his face for someone who had not had a physical body for who knew how many years.
"Jinhai - " Gale started to say, but he was interrupted by the sound of a silken voice that was definitely not familiar.
"Well, if it isn't golden boy Gale."
Both "golden boy" and weapon stopped walking, Jinhai tilting his head to slant a silent gaze at the tall, dark haired figure that was beside one Marcus Hasan.
"Hey, Marcus," said Gale, sliding his hands into the pockets of his trousers and giving the older hunter a nod. Behind him he could feel Jinhai shifting, hear the sifting of his tail as it slid across the tile floor. "Is this, ah...your weapon?"
He jerked a thumb over his shoulder at the dragon. "This is Jinhai."
Jinhai, was giving Marcus' weapon a once over, a somewhat exasperated expression on his face.

"Hi." The groan came out as Dis edged just a little bit closer to Jinhai. Personal space had no meaning to him. Why Marcus expected him to respect personal boundaries he didn't know. Red eyes peered down at Gale, less friendly than simply hungry. "I am his weapon, though, how much I own of him is debatable." A flicker of a scowl before the vampire went back to Jinhai. "Dis. Be. Nice." Marcus hissed though all he got was a dismissive hand wave. "Sorry Gale. Why the life hunters thought even for a second this would be okay is beyond me."
A pale finger reached out, brushing at Jinhai's face as the weapon took a few seconds to study the other. "You seem.. familiar. In a pleasant, no quite one night stand sort of way." Dis smirked, kissing the few stands of hair in his fingers. "Though I am open ton rectifying that."
Marcus began muttering about how he couldn't take the weapon anywhere.

Well, thought Gale, at least Jinhai wasn't like Marcus' weapon.
Jinhai, at least, was taking it all in great stride, pinching the back of Dis' hand and extracting it away from his hair with the same mildly exasperated expression on his pale, half-scaled face.
"Not interested," he said flatly. "And you're probably mistaking me for someone who'll fall for whatever tricks you're trying to use."
Gale rolled his eyes, gave a glance to Marcus and said, "I was just about to get some lunch. Care to join me? We can leave the kids to play, and you look like you need a break."
Though really he wasn't entirely certain what Dis' idea of "play" would be, he was sure Jinhai could handle himself just fine in this sort of situation.
Right?
Right.
Jinhai gave him a Look. "I'm not a kid."
"Whatever you say, Ginny."

Dis pouted as his hand was pulled away. "Pity. But I am not a fan of tricks so much as.. pure honesty. And might I say how lovely your lips look?" He smiled, trying to play nice. Nice meaning keeping his hands to himself.
"Yes. Please. Dis will keep himself occupied and he knows that wandering is a bad idea." Dis made no move to shown he heard the hunter, he was focused on Jinhai. "Mmm But I would like to play a game with you. Several in fact. But I think some you might not enjoy... out of the box as they say."
Marcus shook his head motioning for Gale to join him. "Just glad he's more interested in the weapons than the other hunters. I really was not looking forward to.. well. Him."

"A little too honest for my taste," said Jinhai airily, as Gale rolled his eyes and followed after Marcus.
"It's all right," he said, with a glance over his shoulder as he slid his hands into his pockets, making his way down the hall towards the stairs, which would lead them to the cafeteria on the first floor. "I'm sure we'll come back and they'll not have killed each other.
"...much."
Back upstairs, Jinhai was still standing in front of a much too-interested Dis.
"Something tells me I wouldn't like your 'games,'" he responded dryly - and strangely automatically, as though he had said words like this beforehand. It was a very odd feeling, and Jinhai shook his head a little as though to clear it, a small frown on his face.

"Would you prefer I call you a lizard? You deserve better than that in my opinion."
Marcus shook his head, walking by Gale. "Maybe. Depends if Dis ends up being well." He looked back and the vampire waved him off. "Dis." The hunter shuddered as the weapon was out of sight. "One day gale, he'll stop, but I doubt it's anytime soon."
Dis would indeed not stop, leaning into the dragon smiling. "Now, that they're gone, Jinhai was it?" Reaching over he removed a stray thread. "Tell me about yourself. our hunters are friends no reason we shouldn't be as well."

"I am not," said Jinhai delicately. "A lizard, thank you very much."
His tail curled around his leg, arms folded across his chest as he leaned back against the wall, vainly trying to lean away from Dis invading his personal space - but really there wasn't very far to go, considering they were in a hallway.
"Yes, Jinhai," he said. "And you're Dis."
Again, the word felt oddly familiar on his tongue - like he had said it before. But Jinhai pushed that thought aside. He'd heard the name from Gale, obviously, and the weapon's own mouth.
"Yes, right, friends," said Jinhai dryly. "I, ah...am not sure what exactly that entails, but there isn't much to say about me, I'm afraid, other than the very obvious fact that I'm a fucanglong dragon."

"A dragon." The smile evened out as Dis looked to the tail and horns. "A handsome dragon at that. Mhmmm." Leaning more into the dragon he inhaled only to frown. "You smell like earth. It is.. ill fitting to you." A pause he sighed. "Cirtus and.. spice. That would be better for you." Fingers went back to the dragon's hair, petting rather than brushing or twirling it in his fingers. "Desidero." He smiled. "My full name is Desidero Blacknail. Dis is... shorter, easier to slip off the tongue, as are many other things."
Pulling away the vampire put his hands behind his back. "But you are a fucanglong dragon. A sniper rifle as a weapon of gold and white, the one who chose the golden boy Gale." Dis leaned back on the opposite wall. "What else? What drives you, why did you chose a child of a man to be your hunter? Why is it that thus far out of the weapons I have met, you strike me as different?" Red eyes held a certain cation with that.

He was too close, but Jinhai didn't move away. Instead he just gave the vampire a steady look, his fingers tightening a little on his sleeves as he kept his arms folded across his chest.
He raised his eyebrows, a surprised look on his face. "Citrus and spice?" he repeated, and then started a little when he felt fingers in his hair, smoothing over the black locks. Pressing his lips together, Jinhai stared at the man in front of him, trying to figure him out, trying to figure everything out.
But then Dis had moved away, and Jinhai exhaled slowly, his grip loosening. He tilted his head, and then shrugged a little, absently lifting his hands to sift through the long braid in his hair.
"He's young, certainly," he replied. "But he's not a child. He doesn't act like one. He did at first, but the reason I picked him was because he held a certain...look in his eyes. A very determined one. I knew he would be able to do what it took."
Jinhai shook his head a little, as though clearing the memories from his thoughts.
"I'm not different," he said. "You, on the other hand...well, I don't know what to make of you, Desidero Blacknail."

The dragon was lacking in reactions, something Dis had yet to really encounter. It intrigued him, and made him only want to linger a bit longer. Thus far people had reacted to him, the lack of a reaction was.. different. Enjoyable in it's own way.
"Yes. The smell of earth... I can't place why but it ill suits you." Waving his hand in the air, Dis smiled. "No, I've seen enough through my Marcus's eyes to know he's not wholly a child. But his body does not match his mind. A pity really."
Red eyes rolled to Jinhai's face. "But determination you say?" He smiled. "Something our hunters have in common then. But Marcus's determination is more towards survival. One day, however... he'll share my determinations for something more... rewarding." picking at his nails the vampire pushed off the wall, motioning to Jinhai to walk with him.
"You are different Jinhai. You're not sickened by me or cringing when I get close to you." He stopped to turn and look at him. "I am, was, a vampire. I lust for more than blood and sex. Ask whatever you'd like to know Jinhai, and I'll give you an honest answer."

Jinhai frowned. It ill suits me?
He couldn't remember what he had once smelled like. This new body, though it looked like his old, did not hold the same memories and tastes of his old one, and Dis had been right when he had said that it smelled of earth. He recalled Gale mentioning it was made of some sort of clay, which made sense. Jinhai lifted his fingers, absently flexing them.
"I really hope you're not into younger ones," he said, still looking at his hand, though he was speaking out loud to the vampire. "Because really if you touch Gale I'd have to hurt you."
His eyes flickered upwards, an icy blue gaze meeting a scarlet one. "I'm curious as to what exactly your definition of rewarding is," replied Jinhai dryly, stepping away from the wall to fall into step beside the vampire. It felt strange just doing something as simple as walking - it had been so long.
He turned his head a little, lifting his chin. "No, I - " he started to say, and then stopped abruptly, sliding one hand into the sleeve of the other. The expression on his face was troubled, confused, and he felt as though something were right in front of him, something important that darted away before he could hold onto it.
"I don't know," said Jinhai finally, trying to act dismissive about the whole situation. He tilted his head a little, a smile playing at the corners of his lips as he added, "And that surprises me a little, considering how forward you are."

Dirt didn't match the dragon. The blue scales and the cut of his jaw just- there was nothing earthy about him. It upset Dis to an extent, bothered him, though it was senseless bother. As dragon inspected his hands red eyes watched, curious. "No, I have no taste for that young. You however," he smiled, "are just right I think." Picking off a piece of lint from his coat, Dis motioned to himself. "But the reward.. is power Jinhai. He is still weak in many ways but, I can see in him potential. The potential to be greater than he is, even if he does not realize it. And when he gains his power, so shall I." The weapon had wanted power for a long time, and now it was just a matter of getting it the right way. He laughed, pulling on Jinhai's hand as if to lead him. Hand in hand, personal, familiar. Dis was none of these things yet he did them anyway. "Forward is difficult at times, but it can also be disarming. If you believe me forward, what might give you the idea I have something planned behind my actions that might be far reaching?" A pause, the vampire ran his thumb over a small patch of scales. The touch of them was nice. He liked the feel of them. Not as something he knew well but as something simply nice. Something he could get used to seeing on a hand. Or a face. It was an odd thought to have. "I like going for what I want. There is no shame in that besides, what need have I for shame? You are handsome, you've yet to voice that you find me repulsive, and you're not fussy like the others. It's refreshing. So I am going to push Jinhai, push until I find that crack and when I do, I will relish the moment, for that is who I am." For it would be a moment that he would have an upper hand, a 'power' without power.

"Good," said Jinhai. "Let's keep it that way, shall we? Gale is who I have chosen, and I will protect him to the end."
Odd, that he was a creature of Halloween who wanted to bond to a human, but he had chosen this path, despite not remembering the circumstances that surrounded it. All he could recall was that this had been voluntary. He had wanted this.
But why? Sometimes it nagged at him, and sometimes it made him frustrated, but what mattered was that he was already here, and he had already chosen his partner. They worked together, as young as Gale was, and despite the obvious and inevitable squabbling sometimes, they worked well together. Jinhai held no desire to find another human.
Cold fingers wrapped around his own, and dragged out of his thoughts, he glanced down to see Dis' hand tugging on his. Rolling his eyes a little, Jinhai fell back into step beside him. He didn't move his hand away, but he didn't make a motion to link their fingers together either, idly picking at a stray thread on his shirtfront.
"I don't have that idea," replied Jinhai calmly, with a sideways glance at the vampire. "But I do wonder what you're hiding behind that forwardness. You are quite brash, you do realize. I've heard Marcus speak of you when he talks to Gale. The flirtations, the comments..."
He lifted a brow, cocking his head to the side curiously. "Why make an effort to find you repulsive?" said Jinhai, a little dryly. "That would take too much effort. I'd rather put my efforts into something more fruitful. As for when I will crack, as you say..." he shrugged, tail flicking behind him.
"Who says I will?"

The notion of trying to be lewd to Gale was an odd one. Technically Gale was a child, but he was a bit more, actually he just was more mature than most hunters. Still, Marcus viewed Gale as a friend and the vampire couldn't really dismiss the notion that Gale was just something not worth going after. Not lest Dis wasn't to suffer Marcus's wrath. There were few things that he guessed would drive Marcus to action, and harassing the boy he called a friend and held such respect for seemed like such a case. While Jinhai didn't link fingers, neither did Dis, altering to letting go of the dragon's hand as he walked beside him again. He wasn't reacting to touch, so that was a bit 'out'. Even if the scales felt 'nice'. Smiling, he brushed black hair behind his ear, taking a second to smile at the fact his ears were not the human ones he'd been so used to while in Marcus's head. "It seems then, I am rather successful in my endeavors. As for what I'm hiding..." He shrugged. "Time will tell as actions are taken. And what is wrong with being brash at times? Flattery is simply honesty on my part." A small frown, Dis took a moment to look at the stairs. "The bane of being honest and having a lack of shame is that many find it unnatural and disgusting. Being 'repulsive' is just a thing one expects as a reaction. So when you lack such a reaction-" he took a step down before offing to 'help' Jinhai down the stairs, as if the dragon might have been in a dress, "-it makes me curious. If I cannot find a crack?" He grinned. "Then I will have lost, and you will have been proven my better. And that you have indeed, a stronger will than many."
