What had she done? Oh god what had she done? Albireo ran, ran as fast as she could, moving as far away from the building as she could. She had just killed someone…she had been the cause of death for a girl, a young girl, sure she was a negaverse girl..but…oh god she was dead. She was dead, forever. Gone, just gone from the world. Just like that. Nobody would ever see her again.
She felt a chaotic aura nearby, and moved towards it. Maybe they would just kill her in retribution. God, she deserved it. For once, she felt she really deserved to die. This was…she was a monster. A real, honest, monster.
As she drew closer to the figure ahead, she saw that it was Jarosite. Oh god.
A sob burst from her and she ran to him, grabbing the front of his jacket, a complete and utter mess. She was crying too hard to utter a single word to the Captain.
His knuckles still hurt from his fight with the stone wall in the Rift. They were taped, the middle knuckle of his left hand still seeped blood. He wasnt trying to attract attention, but an order power was coming at him really fast. Jarosite braced himself, a dagger popping into existance as Albireo rounded the corner and launched herself at him.
He blinked, hastily letting his weapon vanish as he wrapped his arms around her sobbing form. "Albi, Albi. What's wrong? Who hurt you? Love talked to me," he said, rubbing her back and guiding her to the wall nearby.
She trembled. She didn’t deserve this kindness, not from him. She had just. She had just. “Jaro, Jaro I killed someone. They’re dead, she’s dead…she’s dead, Jarosite, and it’s all my fault, and I’m so, so sorry, and, and…Oh god…” The tears didn’t feel like they were going to stop, she felt herself being lead to a wall, and she sat down on the ground, burying her face in her hands.
“I didn’t mean to, I didn’t mean to…I’m so, so sorry, I…She…I didn’t…” The girl hiccupped and then drew in a great gulp of air. “She attacked me, and I used my attack, and we were on a building, and she fell off, She fell off and I think she broke her neck, and it’s all my fault…it’s all my fault…” She was a monster. Just like Zink had foretold…she was a monster, and now she had to be put down, she had to be stopped…how long would it be before she killed again?
Oh god…
She'd killed someone? Albireo had killed someone? How was that even possible? He listened quietly, rubbing her back and stoking her hair. So the agent had fallen off the building and broken her neck? A pity, but probably better the clumbsy girl wasnt in the Negaverse any longer. "Well she probably fell accidentally and broke her neck. Shush, shush, you're alright."
He kissed her hair gently. "You'll probably be herald as decorated senshi now. We all kill once. I did, and it terrified me. Ive only done it once, since then in an act of rage. I still feel remorse for the knight." Jarosite spoke softly and calmly, trying to calm her down. He hated seeing her like this, and just wanted to make her feel better.
She shook her head, clinging to him and sobbing harder for a good few minutes. There was nothing she could do to make up for this. Nothing she could change to make this better. Nothing…nothing…
Albireo cringed visibly when Jarosite mentioned her being a decorated senshi now. She really didn’t want that. If being a good senshi meant she had to be a killer…if being with the White Moon meant she would be a killer, hurting innocents…knocking them off of rooftops. “No…no I refuse…I won’t be a monster anymore…” The senshi looked at Jarosite and shook her head roughly. “No I can’t. Jarosite, call him. Call..” She scrubbed at her eyes. “Please call Zinkenite…please…”
She had a choice to make, and she was going to make it now. Sure she had to give everything up, but…but she just made a girl lose everything she had, so it seemed like a fair deal now. Besides…what had the White Moon offered her? Friendship? No. A sense of belonging? Not even close.
No, perhaps…perhaps it was time to start a new life…with a new group.
He blinked at her. "Call the General-King? But... why? Im not going to let him kill you if thats what you want." He said, rubbing her cheek bone with his thumb. Or did she want to come to his side? It seemed like an not a decision to make while emotional. His grey eyes locked with her eyes. "Are you sure about this?"
She nodded. “I’m sure. I mean…” She gave a laugh that was almost on the edge of hysterical. “What does my side have to offer…” Albireo know that he knew what she wanted. He had too…damn, he had been the one pushing for it, almost since the beginning! Why was he questioning her now? Why was he doubting this was what she wanted…
“I’ve been thinking about it, and yes. I need to…I want to join your side. There is nothing more for me here…and I refuse to continue being a monster…and now that I’m a k-killer…” She broke off, shuddering. “Call him, please, Jarosite…”
She wished she could have Dahlia here too…she wanted the cat’s words of comfort…wanted her soft fur and her reassuring nuzzles…but, she couldn’t have everything, right?
He nodded and kissed her head. "Alright, if you are sure. I'll call him." He pulled out the com crystal and spoke into it softly. "General-King Zinkenite, I have a senshi who wants to join our side. Where should we meet you?" He waited for a reply, rubbing her back gently.
Albireo’s sobs had died away and she rested against Jarosite, not really worried anymore. Zinkenite would take care of her, she was sure…and Dahlia…she would be able to get her dance lessons now…that was good too. Perhaps this was a good thing that happened…maybe she wouldn’t regret it at all…maybe…maybe this was how things were meant to be…
Perhaps she should really nave never been put onto the side of the white moon in the first place. She closed her eyes, and waited for Zinkenite’s answer, glad that Jarosite was with her during all of this. It made things a lot easier, and made her feel like she had some support…and he loved her…so that was all the real support she needed.
