Years ago, a failing wolf pack was traveling the woods for shelter. The old leader had to find it quick, for winter was around the corner and his family and friends were in dire need of protection from the cold winds. A haven was found inside a large cave, and the pack settled in quickly. Rest gave the wolves strength, and soon they were out restoring their pack. But the old leader soon died, and the pack quickly appointed a new leader. Since then, the pack has been in harmony working together and keeping each other in check. Though, that has now changed. New packs now surround their territory, challenging them to either give in and let them have it, or die trying to protect it. Hunters have been scouting the area, and many of the pack members have been murdered while hunting and never seen again. The pack's population have dwindled and the rival packs are thinking of plans to finally take over them. There are little days of peace and security, but danger lurks behind every tree and corner. Now..will you fight, or die?

RavenShe sniffed on the ground to try to find the scent she had been following. Leaves rustling caught her ears, and she tiptoed to its direction. She hid behind a rush and peeked around, seeing a small elk grazing. Raven looked around to see if its mother was around, and wagged her tail when the coast was clear. Inching forward little by little, she got close enough to jump on the elk. It cried out as she bit its back, and started to buck. She hung on tightly, and bit harder. It fell over from their weight and she took the opportunity to bite into it's neck. The elk quickly turned limp and she licked her jaw clean. Huh,for a little fellow, you sure are heavy. She started to pull him to the pack but stopped after a few feet. Looking around, she called out for her pack. Um, can anyone help me carry this?

SeffHis eyes darted around the woods, searching cautiously for his next victim. When suddenly he heard a whine for help from the back of the pack. It was a female who seemed to be having trouble carrying an elk she just caught. He wanted to ignore her and move along, but the rest of the pack were already ahead and no one seemed to hear her. "Sigh.. Am I the one who's supposed to do this..?"He had no other choice, he was advised by an elder that teamwork is mandatory within a pack, and he didn't want to disobey. So he slowly walked towards the female to offer help. "Uhm.. H-Here, let me help.." he said as he bit the elk's leg.

RavenShe eyes the former-loner wolf warily as he picked up part of the elk. She heard him before he came and she wrinkled her nose. Raven still had trust issues with outsiders, and she glared at him. Well, if you're like that, I can do it myself!A growl rose in her throat and she pulled the elk away from him. Part of the leg tore, and she groaned in frustration. She picked up the elk by the neck, and dragged it back to the cave, hoping the leg wouldn't break off on the way.

SeffThe female he tried to lend a hand to suddenly got angry and went away with her prey. She walked much faster with the elk now than before, as if she forgot it was heavy at all. "What's her problem?"He trotted along with the pack back to their territory. "Teamwork is mandatory they said, family and friends come first they said," he muttered to himself, "I'm not sure if I fully understand the rules of this pack. Maybe this wasn't the right idea.."

Togan "You have much to learn about pack life Seff, but joining us was not a mistake."
He walked alongside Seff, shaking snow from his gray fur. "You have the makings of a fine leader in you young one. But you need to learn trust. You've spent far too long on your own."

Raven
She grunted the last few inches to the cave, and sighed in relief when she made it. Dropping the meat on the ground she called out to the elders, nursing mothers, and pups that were in the cave. They came in and thanked her for the meat, and the mothers went to feed little pieces of meat to their teething pups. The elders settled down to eat, and she stayed close to the cave entrance to keep a lookout. An elderly she-wolf came up to her and licked her ear, surprising Raven from her trance. How are you feeling young one?Raven turned around and laid down on the ground. Her body sagged and she looked up at the she-wolf. I'm getting better, though my past is affecting me. How am I suppose to act around the outsiders, when i know that one of them killed my father. It wasn't his fault that that dumb rat-brained got kicked out of his pack. I want to trust them, but i just can't.She groaned and flattened her ears. The elder looked down at her sympathetically and licked her nose. She went to the diminishing elk, grabbed a mouthful of meat , and went back to her. She nudged it towards her and wagged her tail. It is hard forgetting one's past, but we must not let it trouble our future. We need trust between out pack, or trouble will poke his snout when he sees a weak spot. Your father wouldn't want you treating another member so coldly would he? He would want you to be strong, for yourself and for the pack.Raven nodded and nibbled on the meat. She realized how hungry she was, and soon gobbled up the food. Licking her jaws, she nudged the elder gently and returned to her post guarding the entrance.

SeffSuddenly the pack's Alpha male, Togan, approached him, giving him words of advice and assuring him that joining them was no mistake. He must have overheard his muttering, which also means he must have very sensitive hearing. Seff gave Togan's words a thought. "I tried to trust fellow pack members, I even offered help to some. I've tried to accept them, but apparently they have not accepted me yet."

Togan"It is a wind that blows both ways. They will warm up to you in time. Just remember, a good leader guides by example, and is patient. Work hard, be good to your pack-mates and show them that they can count on you. And if you need to talk, do not hesitate to come to me."
He walked to the mouth of the cave and saw the others feeding. He felt his own belly clench, but he would hunt for himself only after the rest were fed. He went to the mouth and saw Raven sitting, guarding the entrance. "A fine kill, Raven. You have done well." He came and sat next to her. He turned his nose to the wind and sniffed. "It will be a long winter this year. You and the other hunters will need to be more vigilant than usual. There is anger on the wind..."

RavenShe saw the leader come back and praise her for the catch. Her tail wagged and she bowed her head. Thank you Togan, I do wish i would have caught a larger one. The she-wolf sniffed at the air as well, catching the cold air and the crisp scent of falling leaves. The sun still shined brightly, but she knew soon dark clouds would block it and snow would fall. She nodded at the leader's thoughts, and heard a rumble. Raven looked up again to see if it was a chance of thunder approaching, but her ears twitched to the rumble that was coming from the Leader's stomach. She smiled mischievously and wagged her tail. I see that you are hungry. I wouldn't mind going hunting again, do you want to come?

Togan
Togan looked back to make sure the others had eaten their fill. He rose from the snow and shook himself. "You are a sharp one. I could use a good hunt. Just try to keep up."With a teasing smirk he launched himself into the forest once more. Despite his great size, he darted through the under brush, moving swiftly and quietly. He was nothing more than a grey shadow, darting between the trees.

RavenShe followed after the leader in a trot, but quickly gained speed. Her body weaved between trees and bushes, and she made sure to not step on items that would give them away to prey. Suddenly, a stick breaking caught her ear and she slowed down. She stayed low to the ground and listened again. Another cracking of branches tickled her ears and she crept forward. Looking at Togan's figure, she shook her head to the noise behind the trees. She heard another step, and stepped forward. Long narrow legs suggested it was a doe, and raven licked her lips. She waited for the deer to get near enough, and pounced on her. She let out a high pitched sound and shook around as Raven got a hold of her neck. Her grip wasn't good enough, and she began to slip. She sank her teeth in deeper, causing the deer to go into a frenzy as her teeth deepened into her skin. With her back legs, she scratched at the doe's chest, causing her to back up and stand on her hind legs. Toganff, howf amout doe ffor breaffast. The deer stomped on the ground causing Raven to detach from her neck and fall on the ground. The doe scrambled on the ground to try to escape, but Raven quickly got up and bit her back.

Togan
Togan stifled a laugh as he watched Raven attack the deer. He trotted from his hiding spot and grabbed the doe's neck in his powerful jaws. He twisted his head and bit down hard. There was a dull crunch and the doe went limp. Togan hefted the kill onto his back as he and Raven turned back toward the caves. "That was a good spot. But you have a few things left to learn. You're impatient. You need to finish a kill quickly. Never pounce on just the first piece of body you see. Wait for your target to give an opening, then hit hard and fast, and always break the neck or back. A lot of noise could attract rivals like cougars or another wolf-pack. You need to be patient when stalking your prey. Always wait for the moment when you can kill as quickly as possible."

Raven
Her fur bristled as she heard a covered up laugh from the Alpha and saw him kill the deer with ease. She hadn't been doing break these couple of days, and she felt like she was letting her pack down. She hung her head and followed after Togan, not feeling hungry anymore. Yea, I guess I should practice on some twigs or something, they are still enough for me to practice patience. I always aim for the neck and back, but my teeth don't seem to sink in far enough to finish them off or paralyze them at least. She hung her tail when she heard about the part on making noise attracting unwanted visitors. Raven needed to kill off her prey before they even made a single peep, and she was determined to try and perfect that as well. Arriving at the cave, she sat near the entrance and swung her tail at the Alpha. You go on ahead and eat, I don't feel so hungry after all.
