When Mei had finally awoken after Tybalt's and her battle, she groggily and sorely rolled out of bed. She could barely recall what it was that had happened during the fight, but she did remember losing her temper..and her sanity shortly after. "Damn it.." Pressing her hand to her face, she made a mental note to go and apologize to the boil later, after she finished her homework.

Homework..it was right over--Where was it? Her homework, it was all gone! All of it! She had a large pile that needed to be finished sitting on top of her desk! Where did it all go? Having a minor panic attack, Mei began tearing apart her room in hopes that she might have misplaced the papers, somehow moved them when she was unconscious. After coming up empty, she instead decided to go straight to the teachers and see if they would give her new copies to try and finish in time.

All of the teachers replied with similar answers, all commenting that she needed to do better. When they handed the papers back to her, all of the homework was marked 'below average'. Staring at it a while longer, she realized that the writing on the paper was not her own..no..she didn't write like that.

TYBALT!? She would recognize his writing anywhere! That damned mutt! Was he trying to fail her? Storming all the way to his dorm, Mei kicked the door open, and shoved the papers into his face. "Did you do this!?"

Tybalt was sitting on his bed, teasing one of his minipets with a treat when Mei burst into his room, causing him to jump. Normally he would have said 'Hi.' But before he was able to, papers were shoved in his face.

"Yep!" He said cheerfully and pulled the the celestial rune onto his lap, where he began to untangle a knot in its hair. "You were kind of out of it after our uhh... fight and you were so worried about your paper that I decided I should help." He grinned up at her, tail wagging from side to side.

He was such a good friend.

The doll's eye twitched when he didn't even deny it. In fact, he seemed a little too pleased with himself over the fact that he had just failed her. Groaning inwardly, she dropped the papers to favor placing her hands over her face. "Tybalt! Why did you do that! You just failed me in those classes! I mean, some of the answers you wrote down..they don't even make sense!"

Sighing, she plopped down on the bed beside him. She gave up. She would just..re-take the classes..yeah. At least she would remember most of it for when she had to do it again. "I appreciate you wanting to help me, but next time--just let me do it next time, okay?"

Tybalt started when the broken doll snapped. Why was she angry with him? He helped her finish didn't he? She should have been happy to not have to worry about it any mo--

Oh...

Taking the papers she dropped he looked them over again. She was right some of these didn't make sense and that was why. Spotting his mistake, he gave her a weak smile.

"Err... That might be because some of them were supposed to be on this paper and not that one..." He added sheepishly. It was no wonder the teacher marked them wrong. This was a really big screw up on the black dog's part.

"I'm sorry... I figured I owed it to you since..." His shoulders sagged. "Since I pushed you into that fight. I thought it would help. But it didn't go as I had planned. I'm really sorry, Mei"

Well..that would explain why they didn't make any sense. Dropping back onto the bed, the doll just stared up at the ceiling. It was a shame the teachers didn't just let her re-do her homework again, rather then repeat the class. But she had it figured that the teachers at Amityville thrived off the suffering of their students. Oh well.. worst things could happen she guessed.

Twisting her head a little, Mei looked up at Tybalt from where she lay. Oh boy, now she even upset him. This day was turning out just great. Sitting up again, she patted him on the shoulder. "Its okay. You meant well. I can jus--" She paused, tugging at his hoodie a little when she spotted something on his neck. The mark of the four clans.

"Tybalt..when did you get this?" The doll asked, shocked to see him branded as well. Out of all the students, she was most surprised that Tybalt was one of the ones that had been branded. Especially with him being so skeptical about the horsemen.

Tybalt felt awful now. Poor Mei had worked so hard to keep her good grades and he just botched it for her. Big time. He was about to apologize again when she tugged his hood down.

Oh great.

"Oh that? Uhh..." His voice trailed off before he shrugged. "Just a birth mark. Always had it." He gave her another, obviously fake, grin and pulled the hood up to cover it once more.

Mei's brow drew together at his obvious lie. "Don't lie to me! I've seen these on dozens of students already! Its the mark of the four clans. When did you get this done? Did the make you do this?" How could she have not noticed this sooner? It was hard to ignore now!

"Tybalt..what happened?" She finally prodded again, hoping that he would at least be honest with her if anything.

Tybalt's smile slowly faded. He hadn't wanted Mei to find out about the brand. Now that she had, he wasn't sure what to say. But she clearly expected an answer and she deserved an answer. She was his friend after all.

"Just a small price to save a friend." He finally spoke, butting his head lightly against her own.

He felt no regrets in receiving the brand. If it meant saving Mei and the others, he would do it all again. It had been his choice.

"It was the only way to get onto that island and through the hunters barriers. We all decided to do it. They didn't force it." He paused. "Course, they didn't mention the brand before we received them. So I guess you could say they were a little deceitful where those are concerned." A small shrug. "But don't worry. I don't plan on getting myself involved with them anymore than I already have."

That was the truth. He had seen some very disturbing things involving the horsemen. Some down right frightening things. Things he wanted no part in.

The doll's lips parted, a little stunned at his answer. It was because of her, that he had gotten this brand? "I.." She wasn't quite sure how to respond to this. At Tybalt's light headbutt, her shoulders sagged a little and her head bowed. All this time, he had been looking out for her, trying to help her, and she just kept pushing him away as she had been.

It was hard to think of him as an annoying mutt who always shoved his way into her business after all of this. In fact, it turned out, she owed him quite a bit for everything he had done for.

"I'm sorry, Tybalt. That I caused you this." She glanced at the mark on his neck. If she hadn't been abducted, he wouldn't have been branded, but there it was. What was done was done. She couldn't do anything about it now. Though, she was relieved to hear that he was through with the horsemen. After Caelius had shown her those images, and told them of what the horsemen had done..she scared. Scared of what they were planning, and that they were using students to do their bidding.

"What can you tell me about them. I wasn't in the same classes as you when we went on that trip. Did you see anything that stuck you as..odd? Or just, anything that you thought was bad news. I need to know."

"Don't start that." He interrupted. "Don't start apologizing for something that isn't your fault. Its not like you asked the hunters to take you. I only did what you would have done for me. So don't apologize." That was the last thing he wanted. To make her even more depressed than she was. It was exactly the reason why he avoided showing her the brand in the first place. He didn't want her to feel responsible for it.

At her question, he let out a long shaky breath and shrugged.

"To be honest? I don't know. That trance class we all took part in here... it wasn't the first time I went through it." He admitted. "Though what we witnessed the first time wasn't really involving people who were deeply connected to the school. It was like we saw events of the past, present, and..." His voice trailed off, before he worked up the nerve to finish his sentence. "the future."

Now he gave Mei a concerned look.

"Mei, I don't know if what I saw was the real future or not. But it freaked me out. To this day, what I saw still haunts me."

At his request, Mei kept quiet. But it didn't stop the doll from feeling guilt over the whole thing. She was, however, pissed that the horsemen had actually branded the students, in exchange for helping them. In truth, the price was too steep. She knew that if she brought it up, Tybalt would deny it, but she knew it. The horsemen were getting everything they wanted, and it scared her to death.

Waiting quietly for him to answer her, she perked up a little when he started. At his reply, she was curious to know what it was he saw. The past an present, there was nothing they could do about that, but the future--she had to know. "What did you see?"

Tybalt sucked in an unneeded breath, but didn't say a word. At first he merely stared at the floor, deep in thought, before he finally made up his mind about it.

"I think we were shown the apocalypse." He started, rubbing at the back of his head. "If not the apocalypse then something very much like one. The horsemen had pretty much wiped out the human race. They had tried to keep them... sort of like cattle I guess. So that they could use them to feed off of. But it was too much for them and it broke their spirits. Or so I heard." His shoulders sagged again. "After that, the horsemen must have turned on us. They were catching us. Using and killing us to get our Fear." He shuddered at the memory. He hadn't only just seen what had happened, but had actually taken part in it. They were literally, for a brief amount of time, living in that horrible time line.

"Mei, I don't know what the horsemen are planning. But I know that their methods are going to bring about disaster, one way or another." He balled his hands into fists. "I hate the humans for what they've done to you, to all of us, but... we can't just let the horsemen do as they please with them. If we do I... I'm scared of that future coming true, Mei."

Mei listened quietly and without interruption as she took everything he said into consideration. If what he was saying was true, then they had good reason to be cautious of the horsemen. Oddly enough, she felt sort of..compelled to warn the hunters about this possible future. There was no way to be certain this future would even happen..but still. Then again, the hunters might have already assumed it a possibility, and were already taking action.

Carefully thinking over past conversations with random hunters she encountered, she recalled many of them making comments about the horsemen, hinting on what they were planning. How could she have been so blind? It was no wonder they took such actions against the horsemen, why they were doing what they had with students.

Looking to Tybalt, she tried to hide her shock as best she could, masking it with a feigned smile. "It won't come true Tybalt. If that is the possible future, we'll find some way to prevent it from happening."

Caelius had told them to consider the whole picture..and, well..things were making a lot more sense when she did.

Tybalt only shook his head.

"If I was certain we could stop it, I wouldn't be worried." He answered. Mei knew as well as he did, that the horsemen were powerful. Ancient and powerful. If they wanted to start something, it was well in their abilities to do so. Not only that, but with the strife between the hunters and the students, students were starting to pick sides.

"You're not naive, Mei. I know you're just as unnerved about this as I am."

"Maybe-" She started, but quickly snapped her mouth shut, waving it off for the moment. "Never mind." What she was thinking, she never thought she would find herself even considering..but after everything..

"I would be lying if I said I wasn't. Anyways, I uh..I have some things I need to take care of. Thanks for telling me. I'll see you later."

With that said, she gave a small wave and left the room.
