Oddly enough, Sparrow Heartreed did not have very many male friends.
He had Wren, of course, and Xiu - but other than that he had Hel, and LW and Amphi, somewhat.
Sometimes he wondered why that was. Other times it just made him realize that he just simply did not have very many friends period. Acquaintances, certainly, but he was rapidly approaching third year and he still had yet to make actual friends with more than a handful of people - none of which were male.
Which was why he decided Jack was the ideal candidate to become friends with. That, and he just liked how the cat thought, and believed him to be rather interesting. And he'd hung out with him once or twice before - briefly, not to mention they'd fought together during battles.
That all added up to being friends, right?
Right.
Which was why, early on a Moonday morning, Sparrow found himself standing outside of the boil's room, idly twisting the cuff of his sleeve. He was not nervous - that would be stupid, but a part of him worried nonetheless.
He felt like an idiot.
But he sighed, straightened his shoulders, and knocked on the door.

Jack was not a fan of mornings.
Moondays were usually his relax day, so he had spent most of it laying back in his beanbag bed, crashing hard after the 'long week' that he had been subjected to (honestly, every week was hard if it meant he had to do something. He was a cat, sometimes, he was lazy.) Hearing the rapping on his door, it broke him out of his little reverie, eyebrow raised. Tomoko usually came around later during the day, and he wasn't expecting anyone just yet.
Flopping out of his bed, he wandered to the door, hair a mess (but it usually was), and in relax clothes, he opened the door, expecting one of his ghoul-friends to need a fluffy ear to listen to them, or maybe Alex to ramble. But, no. It was a familiar face that he didn't expect, eyebrow raising again.
"Hallo Sparrow, I didn't expect to see you in my doorway today." He piped up, looking behind him at his room. It wasn't a mess, it never was because he had nothing to really mess up. There were a lot of cats tho - all of his 13 had decided today was lazy day also, 13 sets of eyes were currently on him in their spots. Shrugging, he opened his door more, stepping back, tail sweeping behind him contently. "Would you like to come inside for a bit? I'm sorry that it's a mess, but, you know how it is." He joked, a lop-sided grin on his face.

Sparrow smiled brightly, linking his fingers behind his back and rocking a little on the heels of his boots.
"Ah, well, neither did I," he admitted, rather sheepishly, as he stepped into the room. It was neither messy, nor crowded - if you didn't count the multiple pairs of eyes that greeted him when he walked in - and he glanced around curiously, peering at the cats that were draped here and there throughout the room. "But I thought I would stop by and say hello, you know. See how you were doing, maybe see if you wanted to grab something to eat or whatnot."
"And your room's not a mess," Sparrow added, giving Jack a smile. "It looks about the same as mine looks."
A pause.
"Except with more cats."
