It was pretty empty where Deryk was. And the trainee managed to find himself a lone and untouched ipod. He figured he should maybe bring it to the life labs to see who had lost theirs, but not before checking out what was on said ipod. It just happened to have a song he liked a fair bit, and so he was finding himself sort of getting into the groove. And so, he was dancing. Badly. At least he was alone. Right?

NOPE.
Robert opened the door halfway, and stopped there, because it was just enough to see Deryk, and that sight shorted out his brain.
Robert thought Deryk was a pretty decent guy. Maybe not the kind of guy he'd end up having a beer with if they'd met in the real world, but he had a good heart, and Robert liked him. Until this very moment.
When he saw the catastrophe that was Deryk dancing.
A full minute later, Robert collapsed into loud, raucous laughter.

Deryk's dancing had come to a very. Very abrupt halt as he heard a rather loud laughter all of the sudden.
"AAAAAHH!!"
Jumping from that, he turned around and stared with horror as he saw Robert there. Laughing at him. He was horrified, and then he was completely embarrassed. It showed too as his face started to look more like a tomato in hue.
"S-Stop laughing!"

Robert was STILL laughing as he stumbled forward into a run, bucking into Deryk and barrelling him down into the ground. He pinned Deryk and sat on his chest, triumphant.
"No. See. That was terrible. And I cannot tolerate terrible dancing. So now I gotta kick your a**."
He rolled off of Deryk, and summoned Jezebel. "But I'll give you a break and make it a fair fight."

With a grunt, Deryk hit the ground and instinctively, he brought his hands up over his face to try and protect himself.
"AAAH LEMME GOOO! IMSORRYiMSORRYIWONTDANCEAGAAAIN!" he cried out.
Though, Robert did get off, he scrambled to his feet. He was definitely not quite ready for action though.
All this time, the ipod was still playing for him.

Robert didn't really look mad, but he was fully intending on beating the s**t out of Deryk for being such a bad dancer. "Sorry, broski. Maybe I can give you a few pointers. Or I can make sure you never dance again. All I know is, that was an insult to nature, man."
He laughed heartily as he swung Jezebel with both hands, connecting right across Deryk's side.

Deryk wasn't ready. Not by any means. And so Jez sliced into his side pretty hard as a result. Yelping in pain, he finally got into more of a fighting stance. Sort of.
"Y-you'd give tips?" he stammered out. Biting his lip, he decided to try and push Robert back, by stabbing towards his chest with the hidden blade.

Robert gave him a sly smile. "Only to winn-OW HOLY ******** WHAT-"
He hadn't expected the stab, which was the point of a hidden blade, he supposed. But even though it left no permanent mark, it still hurt like a b***h.
He rubbed the phantom pain, and then swiped Jezebel over at Deryk, fully intending to smack him down - but missing. Perhaps Deryk was a ninja. Who could say?

If Deryk was a ninja, he was a noisy one. In any case, he managed to not get hit again from one way or another.
"O-only to winners? So... if I beat you... you'd.. teach me?" he asked carefully, making a swipe to try and keep Robert at bay in the meantime.

Robert gave Deryk another flat stare. Not again. "Well I didn't mean - " He groaned and smacked the man with Jezebel, right on the shoulder. "Why the ******** would you even wanna learn how to dance? I mean, just.. you know. Don't do it. I thought guys like you thought dancing sucked. You probably wouldn't really wanna learn."
He sounded just a little sad about it. Just a little.

Deryk winced at that, and backed off a bit.
"..Always good to expand... right?" he said nervously, "Besides.. without really any games.. don't really have much else to do aside from. Train. Work. Eat. Sleep."
He missed technology. The libraries were nice, but... there was just only so much time he could spend researching things.

"So you're.. bored?" Robert asked, tentatively poking Deryk away with the tip of Jezebel. "And you think dancing's gonna cure that?"
It wasn't a bad reason. Robert almost bought into it.

"How do I know you're not gonna go behind my back and talk s**t about dancing with me to all the other guys?" He huffed out, cracking his knuckles as he did so.

Deryk nodded at first, but then flinched as he got nicked by the blade. Not only that, but he didn't like the way Robert was cracking his knuckles like that.
"Because that'd make me look just as bad? Not even all that macho of a guy to begin with. The geek. The nerd."
Letting out a sigh, he moved on to the side and slashed twice with Tooley. He needed to land some good hits here if he wanted to win. If he lost... well. He didn't really want to know what would happen in that case.
