Levego
. . . . . . .
Near the border of Aria and Jord, high in the Letor Mountains, lies Aria's third largest city, Levego: the city in the sky. Levego is an architectural feat unto itself. The city is connected together by wooden bridges that span the gaps in the mountain range to allow for easier travel throughout the city. Buildings are carefully arranged onto the steep mountain side, each one perched on top of the other. Stone streets that were cut out of the mountain itself curve around the mountain side. The city is especially notorious for their system of ropes and pulleys that can carry cargo and mail from ships into the city in a quick and efficient way that compares to no other. Even residents can take a specially designed system from the base of the Letor Mountains into the heart of the city. And more often than enough you can find children mischievously playing on pulleys that they should not be on, using the complex system to sneak around from one house to another. Though one must be careful during rainy or foggy weather, the bridges can become practically invisible, and even with Levego's advancement in transport, if one slips off the edge of one of these steep mountains, there is nothing to stop the fall to the base of the mountain range.

As a small sail freighter sailed over the gently rolling seas, the mountainous horizon that marked the great city of Levego began to loom in the distance. It would not be long now until they reached their destination and embarked on the next stage of their quest, gathering the rest of their supplies and crew.
Onto the deck of this small freighter there emerged a woman that looked quite different from the other sailors milling about doing their business. For one, her skin was a bright shade of green and her wild, wet-looking hair was even greener. Her two glowing, white, pupil-less eyes surveyed the approaching mountain range with a mix of excitement and concern. She had desired to explore the mysteries of Kanait for quite some time now, though never did she expect to be put in charge of an entire expedition!
Taking care of herself was a task she was quite good at, but having to worry about the well being of an entire crew, well, that was an entirely different matter. She had always been by herself before and survived by her own fierce independence. Having to lead others would be a stressful new experience for her. However, if the Society did not feel she was up to the task, they would not have given it to her. She should give thanks to them for putting this trust in her and expanding her horizons, but still... The green woman let out a little sigh and watched as the waves of the clear blue ocean broke upon the bow of the ship. For a girl who would stare down a marauding war band of orcs, it was odd to feel such worry.
Suddenly a soft voice spoke out from behind the woman. It came from an small, elvish-looking child with long green hair and pale blue skin that seemed to be made up of tiny scales. Her fingers and toes were also elongated with webbed skin in between them. “Kyseele, the captain said it will only be few hours more until we reach land and that we should prepare for to disembark... oh! Is something wrong!” The green woman perked up at the voice of the Nixie. Apparently her assistant had sensed a bit of her mood at well. Kyseele turned around smiled down at the little Fey; she couldn’t help but look a little eerie with her fiendish complexion. “Everything’s all right, Aya. Though I wonder, what made you choose to go on this expedition with me. Its not like you to leave Crystal Pond.” The Nixie seemed to be a little taken by surprise by the question and stumbled over her words a bit. “Oh, you know... well, I just felt it was time for a bit of adventure! It had been so long since I last left my home. And when the Society said you could use my help, how could I say no!”Kyseele laughed at the Aya's enthusiastic response. For a creature that only stood four feet tall and weighed less then fifty pounds she had a surprising amount of energy. “All right, Aya,” Kyeele boastfully stated while roughly rubbing the top of the Nixie's head. “To adventure then!”“Ack, stop that! I'm older than you, you know!” Aya brushed Kyseele's hand away but then excitedly chimed in with her as she straightened her hair. “Yes, to adventure and the mysteries to be found!” The two girls then stared excitedly to the horizon as the mountain top city loomed ever larger in their line of vision.

At last they had reached their destination. With favorable winds at their back, the sail freighter pulled into the dock with relative ease. Once the ship had safely moored, the groaning of ropes and loud clinking could be heard echoing from above them. Then, as if from the heavens themselves, a massive wooden platform appeared from the morning mist and descended to the clear ocean water below. A ramp was lowered from the ship to the platform so the passengers and goods could be unloaded. The nixie, who was still standing on the deck with her companion, looked quite astonished by the entire process. Kyseele, who had seen this all before, was not quite as mystified. The green-haired, skimpily-dressed woman walked down the brow with her other colleagues as laborers unloaded the supplies that would not be making the trip to Kanait. She then noticed the nixie was still staring on, awestruck. This produced a little smile on her face as she decided to tease her. “It just an elevator, Aya. I would have thought you would have seen one of these before in all your travel.”The little blue-skinned nixie's face flushed red with embarrassment as she retorted. “Of course I know what an elevator is! Who hasn’t seen an elevator? Its just... last time I passed though here they didn't have something so... grand!”Kyseele eyed the nixie suspiciously. As far as she knew this system of elevators and pulleys had been in place for ages. “I'm just curious Aya, exactly how old are you?”The nixie looked away shyly, obviously still embarrassed by the incident. “I don’t want to talk about it; its not important.” Kyseele was not surprised by the evasive answer. In her entire time in the historical society, there had always been a lot of speculation as to what Aya's exact age was. Some members placed her in the several hundreds, others wondered if she'd known actual Drygioni and Golauans. Kyseele's pet theory was that Aya had actually forgotten her age and was simply too embarrassed to admit it. “Well, if this is new to you now, then you're really going to be in for a surprise when we break the mist.”Kyseele did not lie, for after the platform began to ascend and they broke the cloud cover, the mountaintop city of Levego bristled before them. The magnificent city itself was spread over several mountain peaks that were connected by massive rope bridges and pulley systems. After a moment, there was a loud clank, and the large platform they stood upon shifted from moving up to forward as it propelled them towards one of the major sections of the city. The nixie's eyes sparkled in the morning light as she viewed the awe-inspiring sight. However, she quickly closed her gaping mouth and tried to play it off. “...It hasn’t changed that much since I was last here. How long are we going to be staying?”Kyseele smiled fiendishly at Aya's attempt to disguise her excitement. It was almost like traveling with a child. Fey creatures really were a breed of their own. “Oh, not long, not long at all. We just need to pick up the supplies we couldn't get in Dunia and assemble the rest of the expedition members accompanying us on this adventure. In the meantime, we will be provided with a building to stay in while they gather. I also hear there is a mountain hot spring nearby in which I'm sure you will want to visit.” “Oh, Kyseele, you know me too well. I hope you're right about those hot springs. I'm tired of bathing in salt water. It just doesn’t feel right on the skin.” The Nixie looked to be visibly excited at the idea of being able to submerge herself in fresh water again as the rope-suspended platform carried them into the city.

With a creaking of ropes and an unsteadying lurch, the large wooden platform ferrying the Dunia Expedition party came to a stop inside the bustling city of Levego. Aya, who had been staring in awe at the landscape passing by below them, had to hastily grab on to the rope railing to avoid being thrown off her feet. Kyseele laughed at her companion's awkward move to save herself, causing the nixie to angrily stick out her tongue at her in response. The two then disembarked from the platform with the rest of their crew. As soon as they stepped off the ramp, a representative from the building in which they would be staying began to lead them through the winding city streets.
The city of Levego was unlike any other. With all its buildings being built into the sides of mountains, the city went up as much as it expanded outwards. For visitors more used to the traditional flat expanses of civilization, the city could prove a challenge to navigate. However, for the locals this was the norm and their guide quickly led them to their destination, a tired worn building of wood and stone that extended into the very mountain itself. Over the main door into the building there hung a freshly painted sign which read “Kanait Expedition Headquarters.” Kyseele let out a sigh at the dilapidated, unimpressive structure but she then reminded herself that this was only temporary and that most of their funds had to go to more important things such as supplies and personnel... so this building would have to do.
Kyseele led the expedition crewmembers into the building and they immediately began to set up shop. Aya tried to help the best she could but physical labor was not her strong suit. Within a few hours the expedition party had unpacked their needed supplies and set up the various rooms to meet their desires. Aya quickly departed to find the hot springs Kyseele had earlier mentioned, leaving the fiendish elemental alone in the front room. It was from here, from behind a large wooden desk, Kyseele would judge the potential applicants to join her crew. She couldn't help but think to herself let the fun begin.

It had been several days of constant walking and travel but Avani finally looked on to what she was believing was a city in the sky, only to watch the fog clear slightly to see the city upon the mountains. She looked in awe as Zip came out of hiding to chatter at the sight never seen for a long time. "Well little buddy....we made it here.....a long stepping stone away from where we like to call home isnt it?" He chatter in reply as she laughed to it making it to a bridge to head into the city. Bridege were one thing Avani had been on a few times, but looking down made things a little uneasy, but once the fear passed they wernt going to die both of them headed into the opening to see what was inside the city. A little like back home Levego had the crowds of people coming in and going among their business, which was something normal with them going in further. Both felt like fish out of water from how the people looked and dressed, however it was a thing to happen coming to a new land away from homeland. Avani walked around for awhile trying to figure out where the rumors had lingered about an exploration of a place but was out of place of where to go, being sidetracked of the new sights. Keeping close by Zip went through the crowd on the ground to catch more ground that Avani may have missed and looked to where people were talking more about the expedition as the humid scent in the air bothered him slightly but enough to get closer to hear. Thinking it was a place to start he rushed back to Avani's side chattering frantically to get her attention of finding something."What is it boy? found something worth looking into or something?" she asked just to get a chirp in return. Taking Zip's opinion of curiousity she shrugged her shoulder adjusting her bo on her back and walked in the direction he had taken to explore, thinking he was onto something, but it was difficult to walk and look straight foward as Avani thought she was being watched for the way she looked, definently different from what she was seeing but took it with a grain of salt walking to see a building busy with people doing some work from the look of it prepping for something. As soon as Avani stopped for a moment to think about it, Zip looked at her in annoyance and did something she hated to do, which was playing a game of chase let alone in a new place where the paths are unfamilier. With a jump he fell to the ground and scurried toward the building looking to the sign knowing what it had said and continued to go in. Avani looked in shocked that turned to an annoyed anger seeing her friend was misbehaving. "Oh get back her you little furball!, you'll get lost and I wont be able to find you too easy like at home....Zip? are you even listening to me?! Get back here you!" Seeing he wasnt going to come back Avani went into a run care not to knock into anyone, knowing her bo was strapped to her back that could knock a person down with a good headache if hit well enough, but her sight was to Zip as she reached a few times to get her hands on him only to be outsmarted and in pursuit. He was a clever one to lead her closer and jumped by a desk, not even realizing if anyone was there but it would be his catch point as Avani came closer to get him, so he sat up on the desk knowing he planned her to actually move foward for once as he felt her hands grab him. "Little troublemaker! one day in a new land and you misbehave."

Kyseele As the ranger's hands came down on the desk to grab her furry companion, their movement whisked a stack of paper into the air. As the papers settled around the room, one particular piece settled on the face of the person sitting behind the desk. There was an awkward pause and then the offending paper instantly dissolved away, revealing the surprised face of the person it had stuck to.
The woman slowly stood up from behind the desk. For all the strange things to be seen in this new city, she was the oddest by far. Her skin was a lime green and her wild, wet-looking hair only slightly darker. An eerie glow emanated from her pupil-less white eyes as she stared inquiringly at the person who had just entered her building. After a moment she spoke, almost a little menacingly. "Back in my leaner days that squirrel would have made an awfully tasty meal." The fiendish looking women stared threateningly at the ranger for another moment before leaning back and letting out a loud hearty laugh. "Man, I'm glad to have seen the last of those times. It sucked having nothing but your own wits to go on. " The strange woman sat back down in her chair and leaned forward onto the desk. Her entire demeanor had changed in a matter of moments and she now seemed quite cheerfully amused by the whole incident. "So tell me, what brings you to my expedition headquarters, besides your rambunctious rodent. Are you here for a job? We're looking for skilled personnel who wish to embark on a dangerous journey to the dead island of Kanait and you look exactly like the kind of person we need. The pay's good and I can assure you, you'll never be bored. What do you say, eh?" The green women stared at the girl with her unsettling eyes as she patiently waited for her answer.

Right there at that point it was a little ackward silence as Avani didnt have the words to really say right there in the spot, as much she was trying to keep Zip from taking off again as he tried to get free from her grasp. Then on the other hand she had heared about the expedition from talk of the town and was very curious about it, exploration was one thing she truely liked to do back home so in a way, seeing a new place wouldn't be such a bad idea to give a try with. "What do i say about that?.....I say why not it sounds like something to see and try from the rumors I heared back in the wilderness, said something about an expedition about to happen and I do like to do odd jobs here and there to get things I can't get in the woods naturally. That's why Zip and I decided to travel far from our home to see what this is about, if you think I can be good use for a trip like this. It'll be a definate change of scenery and land to explore." There was a little excitement in her voice as Avani did think about it for awhile, however wasn't too sure if there were specific qualification being a wild child in a sort not wanting to be like many city folk. Without much more time Avani looked to the woman with a look of dedication that was always a sign she was ready for anything that could happen, especially if it was a combination of a task as well as exploration....it was a good deal to Avani. "It's true besides this little critter bringing me here from my side track of the new place, I traveled all the way from The Plains of Jord to head to this area just to know if the word of the mouth was true....I say sure, why not give a shot to this if you think I can be a help with not much skill like most would see in an expedition. Its always great to set on a new adventure way past your own backyard."
With that said Zip heared her say something about him being a little critter and was about to bite only to be given a good squeeze to keep quiet, already causing enough trouble then needed being newcomers to a new place. Avani tried to look to the woman with confidence, but seemed a little uneasy and did everything to seem standing straight in case she was showing off the wrong posture but kept eye contact not to seem fearful of being looked at. But besides the spooks she was a little facinated to the woman since it was a first to see someone that looked as she did for a long time, seeing a few from time to time that would be passing by in travel route, but made sure not to appear staring as she felt this task would be something to definatly try. Seeing some of the papers on the ground Avani went to pick them up only to have Zip be faster than her stacking them for her to hand back, even though he wasn't on her good side she had a small smirk looking back.
"You'll have to excuse my little friend here, he's pretty much the reason I had some nerve to come in this direction. But don't worry he's quite a help with me and we never part far from each other. He will be staying close by so not to cause more issues." she said stuffing Zip in a leg pouch for now, chattering a storm of rage but stopped soon as Avani went to talk and nod to join.

Kyseele "Excellent! We'll be happy to have you aboard. I had a hunch as soon as you walked through that door that the expedition was exactly the reason why you were here." The strange woman again stood up from her seat and extended her hand over the desk towards the ranger in a handshake. "My name is Kyseele and I am in charge of this operation. All I need you to do is sign one of these forms, or put your mark, whatever, and tell me your name so I can record it in our ledger. As of now, we're still recruiting and waiting for other crew members to arrive so feel free to explore the town or stay here if you like. You said you came all the way from the plains of Jord? That's quite a trip! I remember my times in the plains. There were some fun adventures to be had, though for me it usually was more of a matter of survival." Kyseele let out a little laugh and paused for a moment as she reminisced. "Anyways, we have extra beds in the back if you're tired though, I'm sure the nicest ones have already been taken. Our ship, the Waverly, is down in the harbor if you have any personal supplies you would like to drop off for the voyage. I am of course available if you have any questions."

With a friendly nod Avani listened to her instruction and went to write down whatever she could to know on the form, not too used to the fact of using them enough exept when it came to past task of sending out crops, but most of the time it was a name and numbers. She wrote down her name and everything placing it back to the desk, as mixed emotion were taking place on what was about to happen. "It will be a great privilege to be part of this expedition, before I forget my name is Avani. Hope to see great things along this trip that i probably never seen before, a little change of scenery for once." Giving one more shake of the hand Avani excused herself from the desk to take a little look around of the building when Kyseele mentioned of places to rest till the voyage started. She wasn't much to worry on how comfortable the remaining beds would be, living in the wilderness most her life the ground and canopy were nice places to sleep so whatever was left would be just as fine. Avani saw the places where the beds were placed and took one from random that was free sitting down on it. It was a little strange to actually be on a bed but Avani accepted it quick before going back on her feet to place her belongings she brought with her, which wasn't too much but a sack and her bo placing them by other belongings set there. Zip managed to get out of the trap pouch to look at where they were even closer and was just as curious as she was to the new surroundings. "Don't worry too much boy...I think this is something we were ment to come by and be part of. Who knows what might be in store than the basic routine. This feels like fate if you think about it doesn't it?" He chirped and scurried close by as Avani looked around a little more watching everything happen about preparing for the trip that was to happen in time. Though it was exciting there was some thought to where they were going to be was the question as the name was said earlier. There only had been very little talk among elders that lived in the villages that had told of a place ancient nowadays, but had some power that had something to do when it came to Elementals, a species Avani knew well but never really understood. She was about to ask Kyseele about that, but thought it was just some thinking and they would find out once there. Shaking the thought she went back to exploring, lending a hand when it was needed.

[ooc: CHARRRRGGGEEE... also sorry for the ridiculous intro.]Step by step by slow, resentful step, Louvell hauled himself up at the top of the stairs. Carr's orange ears popped up over the edge, muddied nose and paws scuffling up onto the landing with his friend. Louvell rubbed his palms against his thighs, letting out a sigh as he looked around at the city around him. Despite their attempt to find easy transportation and Levego's lift system, Louvell's knee had nearly given out several times. He narrowed his eyes the cat, "We could have gotten whatever you needed through trade or mail." The Fire Elemental swallowed and looked around, "I need something to drink. Go look around for yourself, fats." The trip had been a long one, and Carr had been heckling him for riding a donkey sidesaddle through some of the foothills to save his leg some trouble.
The cat looked up and blinked once at Louvell. Carr shook out his pelt and trotted alongside Louvell. "Because," he sighed patronizingly, "We arre taking a vacation. You've been cooped up in that lab for too long. Once you get overr yourrself we can relax. Doesn't the airr taste nice?" The cat looked around at the low-hanging clouds. Most of the inhabitants of Semesta were usually surprised to head Carr talk, seeing as he took the form of a pudgy orange tabby. At one point in time, he had been a prominent young alchemist. His jowls twitched as he spoke, whiskers accentuating his feline disposition.
Louvell just scowled, adjusting the small bag that hung across his back. He pulled a cigarette from his charcoal gray coat, putting it between his lips. He snapped, a pitifully wispy spark fizzling into the damp air. "Damn mountains," he cursed, trying to coax a flame from between his fingers. The thin mountain air combined with the stress of traveling was beginning to wear on his abilities. His brows furrowed, focusing on the end of the cigarette until a larger combustion lit it. The flame he conjured was bigger than necessary, but seemed to satisfy his ego.
"Whoa therre, easy old girrl," Carr chuckled. "Don't hurrt yourrself, Lou."
Louvell took a long drag, turning to blow the smoke towards the cat. Carr's ears laid back, slinking to the other side of Louvell. They both walked in silence for a moment, stopping at a rickety wooden platform overlooking some of the lower parts of the city. Levego was an architectural feat unto itself, and many people came just to marvel at all of the buildings arranged into the side of the mountain. Each one was perched on top of each other, streets made of cut rock and attached with boards and steel. As much as Louvell's leg had complained and he had whined, it was a nice place. It was different from his home of scorched earth and the glowing embers of Eldur. "Well, what's first in this vacation ?"
"We should prrobably hunt arround for some mountain lilacs around herre. They should bulk up that memorry potion we have sitting back at home. Louvell, we'rre on vacation. We closed up shop and are here to rrrelax. " He emphasized the last word, the growly feline "lisp" sneaking into his throat.
"Lilacs," Louvell muttered idly, cataloguing the flower in his head. He blew a breath of smoke over the ledge, watching it dissipate into the mist.
Carr stood up, starting to wander away, "At least come look at some of the shops. Air elementals are kind people. Let's see what this place has," the feline put his head up against the door without reading the sign. The cat's claws dug into the ground, standing with the flat part of his head against the center of the door. Louvell watched him, eyes softening a fraction and giving him a pitied look. He flicked the ashes of the cigarette over the edge of the walkway before walking over to the building. Louvell pushed the door open with one hand with Carr "helping." He looked inside the dilapidated building.
A green woman stood inside. A green woman. Louvell's dark eyes narrowed, taking in her thin physique, iris-less eyes, and emerald hair. Fiendish... He took a drag on his cigarette, crossing his arms and receding to a corner of the shop. He wouldn't even pretend to be intrigued by other object inside the building, his hard eyes focused on her.
Carr trotted inside, looking around. He confidently approached the desk where Avani and Kyseele stood, jumping gracefully up onto the desktop. His eyes lit upon the squirrel for a moment, pupils narrowing dangerously. His tail twitched and he turned back to Kyseele, "Good afterrnoon. What do you sell herre?" Carr looked between the two women.

When Avani heared the cat she wasn't too sure on how to go on responding, however knew from Zip's expression that the cat was looking to him as a fuzzy snack on the run but Zip tried to be defensive chattering to keep him at by. She looked aver and motioned Zip to calm down but it became too late as he went into a scurry far away from the desk to hide never seeing those type of creatures often, but thought as Carr as a lynx and let that play a part in his terror. Avani knew that Zip was a clever one and tried to look away from the situation that could turn into something much more different, but the thought actually came to mind she heared the cat actually speaking, not the average site to see but she always in a way heared what an animal was saying from how they look and emotions being shown. To actually answer his question Avani wasn't too sure on words to say since it was a surprise to see and did a shot to answer. "Well its not really a stand like in the market but a place to join in on an expedition about to happen. Some heared about it from rumor in the nations like I did and decided to come along if they think they know a thing or two on the subject. I happen to hear and decided to give it a shot for a piece of scenery that wasn't like my home and it got tiring to see everyday you know. Might you be trying to see something new or a change?" she asked feeling it really wasn't her place to talk but there was always room for some curiousity. Avani took a glance to the other person and had an idea from the sense he was sending off he wasn't normal but an elemental. Though she really didn't mind but it was the fact that he possibly came from the nation of fire from what she could see, but didnt want to judge too quickly as thoughts raced in her head. Nightmares of the past always played in Avani's mind a character unknown but was that of the nation of fire that caused here be scared to anyone from that nation, however nightmares were just nightmares and she didn't want to pull on a bad image of disrespect and kept a smile of kindness. "If you have a feel to learn something about the past, this might be a good shot to try if nothing else is better to do. Why not get away from it all going to a place traveled rarely, you and your friend there." When she said that Zip came back in a chattering fit looking to the cat again and crawled as close to Avani as he could, hiding in her ponytail in hopes to remain hidden.

Avani was correct in her assumption. Louvell looked the girl and her small companion over, raising the cigarette to his lips again. He seemed perfectly comfortable with the smoke and glowing ember hanging out of his mouth. He also didn’t display the wispy light clothing of Aria residents, nor the warm, lively colors of a typical Earth Elemental. Louvell seemed snug in his shades of charcoal and ash.
Carr’s tail twitched upon seeing the furry little squirrel scurry out of sight. His body tensed, and for a moment he was still. From the corner, Louvell stiffened, watching the Carr closely. It wasn’t uncommon for him to lapse into this catatonic state, (I made a terrible pun oh my god…) especially when something like a squirrel triggered it.
Carr blinked, shaking his pelt and shuffling his paws as he came back around. “Sorry,” he apologized gruffly. “A trip to where? We’ve come all the way from Terra Solo, I think Lou and I would like a rest for a bit.” He glanced over at Louvell in the corner, flicking his ears in annoyance. Louvell wasn’t one to introduce himself, and even less likely to carry on a conversation. “We came here for a sort of vacation, and to get some trading done,” he said as he turned back to the women.
His eyes locked on Zip, watching him crawl into Avani’s hair with intrigue. Carr’s head swiveled back to Kyseele. “We can always learn from the past,” he mused. “However, I think it’s that sort of thinking that got me into this predicament in the first place.” Carr shuffled his paws, sitting down and wrapping his tail to one side.

Avani could feel Zip's little claws doing everything in their power to keep close in her hair, making thing even more of a problem at the fact he was misbehaving again. Taking a hand she tried to coax him out only to say a selection of words being bit each time she tried to the point she grabbed him and pulled to meet face to face with a mad face on her. "Honestly you, does the term of actually behaving ring a bell in that pea size brain of yours. Hide all you want but dont turn me into a fool because your being one yourself." Zip tried to object but Avani gave him a stern look that had the little critter silent and slowly climb back up, ashamed of how he acted and making her mad with him so it was time to remain quiet and actually stop with the dumb act of being spooked. However he couldn't help but to be fear as another creature was looking to him like another meal for the ready. With that said and done Avani sighed looking back to Carr on his question. "To be honest I'm fairly new to what this is but from word of mouth its an expedition to another place not many people go to anymore, to explore and learn from the past and all that kind of stop. Many people are going to be needed for this very dangerous voyage which is a perk of intrest in my book...a little thrill well needed for a chance but thats my opinion. So you say the two of you had come all the way from Terra Solo if I'm correct? I never would've guessed that for a second since I don't live that far from that city, though I dont live anywhere in particular I call the Tapana woods as my home so the name sounds familier to me." Avani didn't know what really to say but tried to keep a straight face with Zip atarting to act up as soon as he poked his head out only to see the cat again and was shaking again. Ignoring it she went on to talking a little more while keeping a little distance not to be too close, picking up a bad vibe of thinking of what could happen but lost the thought as she felt Zip jump out of her hair making it messed up jumping to the table and on top of a self chattering in anger as if wanting to show Carr he ment business. This just had Avani smack her forehead in defeat at the matter, already thinking he had made an impression of being the disfunctional pair of person and creature hearing everything being chatter knowing it wasn't good but she let it go on in defeat to the thing. "Sigh,.....well as I said before if you like a little thrill an excitement maybe an expedition would be an intresting thing to try, but thats coming from my thoughts. Maybe yours might not be the same or totally different, its a good way to meet others from all around and communicate with a new face. I myself wouldn't mind seeing others including some Elementals, dont know whats the difference between them and a human besides being able to control a particular element but thats pretty much all I know from seeing some in action once in a blue moon. So talking to an Elemental will be instresting to experience."

Kyseele There was a long awkward pause after cat jumped on the desk and spoke its words, punctuated by the chitterling of the anxious squirrel. As the newly recruited ranger tried to explain the circumstances, the green woman continued to strangely stare at the cat with a face devoid of expression. Once Avani had finished her explanation, Kyseele finally went back to her animated self and spoke. "I am selling adventure of the highest order. A trip to a deserted island riddled with the secrets of our civilization's past. We even pay you. All we ask for is your blood, sweat and tears, and your upmost dedication to the cause. Unfortunately, I do not have much use for a talking feline, especially one might be a risk to other small furry passengers I already have onboard. That would be a hard hire to justify to the Historical Society indeed, however." Kyseele suddenly motioned to the man slinking in corner of the room with his cigarette. If the woman had noticed him staring at her the entire time she did not make notice of it. It seemed as if one such as her was use to such prolonged glances. "What are the skills of your companion over there? He might be someone more along the lines of who we need. If you are both interested in our little expedition you might be able to tag along as belonging to him."((Side note: Kowsauni's wife (me!) is now posting for him. Please excuse any delays.))

(Hello Kowsauni's wife! Warm welcomes!)
“Tapana woods, eh? I’m familiar with some of the foothills and groves around the area.” He nodded, thinking of the plants and species that lived there. He supposed it wasn’t too far-fetched that another human should live there. Carr chuckled quietly, a peculiar sound for a cat. “Elemental life, huh? I suppose it’s no different than human life. I used to be an Earth Elemental. I studied as a botanist for most of my school years. I went on to pursue alchemy. It has its benefits, but it is just the same as you being a skilled hunter or your little friend climbing trees.” The tip of his tail twitched as he thought about his younger years. The taste of fresh citrus tea and the pains of lacing up shoes came to mind.
His head lifted, looking over at Kyseele. Carr listened intently, head bobbing along with their promises of adventure and money. It sounded almost like the fairy tales of pirates, without the illegalities. A bit of a scholar, himself, Carr was intrigued by the glittering possibilities of the mysterious land. However, being a cat had its… implications.
"You've got a squirrel on board, why not a cat?" His whiskers twitched, unamused. "I suppose I'm no good at catching rats. However, my name is Carr Helmont and I am an alchemist from Terra Solo.” Carr lifted a paw off the desk, almost as if to extend it. He held it there for a hesitant second before putting it back down and shuffling all four to make it look as if he were just adjusting his position. “Quite a good one, if I may brag. It’s only an unfortunate accident that I wound up in this situation.”
Louvell continued to stare her down. The first shop we walk into and Carr is all ready for a new adventure… He inhaled, breathing out a small stream of smoke. The corners of it were tinged with flickers of fire, not unlike a sleeping dragon. The little trick announced his abilities as a Fire Elemental just fine.
Carr sighed quietly at his friend’s standoffish introduction. “He’s the “Thumbs” of the operation.”
Louvell looked over at the cat, raising an eyebrow a fraction and giving him a slow thumbs-up. The dry humor seemed to diffuse the situation. “Louvell Keady, Lieutenant of Vatra command,” He said begrudgingly, looking at Carr, “Yes. The thumbs.”
