This day seemed like all the rest, but there was some happiness within the eyes of the young star gilded mare looked up to the skies as the Sun rose over head in its guided watch. Her own thickly braided mane and tail dragged the ground as she wasn't ready to take to the realms of Brother Wind, there was still the morning to greet. With a stretch of her wings and the refolding, Luminista stepped from where she had been sleeping, the ground still warm in the pine needles. This was going to be an interesting day, once it got started. Raising her head, light lavender eyes watching that of which was above her. She started to sing, in quick a musical voice.

"Praise for the red dawn, grass that we walk upon. Praise for sun at high noon, The rivers whispered tune. Praise for the lightening, praise for the singing. Praise for for Father Sun and Mother Moon. Praise for the Earth sister, Praise for the wind Brother and all they do." There was a pause as she took a breath. Praise for the seaside, Praise for the high tide. We praise the Father Sun and Mother Moon. They are to guide us, never to hide from us. So Praise to Spirits all around you. So praise for Father Sun and Mother Moon. Protect us Earth Sister, Defend us Wind Brother, When we are scared."

Soon the song became no more then a hum as she had apparently forgotten the rest of the lyrics. Closing her eyes, she didn't see where she was walking. With this land being so new and there were so many around. Luminista was bound to bump into someone and her life would be taking another path away from the guided one. Coming to the top of a hill, she turned her face towards the warm rays of the sun. "Good morning, Father" She said soft.

Vayu stood and stretched awakening to a new day. He felt well rested and ready for his day. The sun was rising in it's glory and he smiled thinking about the beauty surrounding him. The colors from the sun made where he was even more awe inspiring. He stood watching letting the beauty be his guide for his morning meditation.

He thought about how the light from the sun changed the way things looked. Nothing ever truly stayed the same, he thought to himself. The sun had a way of making things more beautiful in the morning than they were at midday. He had a feeling that it was this way not only with the sun but other things as well. Everything had an effect on how one viewed something. So what one saw in the morning by midday had change in some way.

It was in this thought that the wind brought to him a song. "The spirits must have heard my thoughts," he mused to himself. He couldn't quite make out the words of the song, so he decided to fly to the top of the hill nearby to see if he could find where it was coming from.

As he got closer the words started to come to him. It seemed to be a prayer in song he thought. He landed softly on the top of the hill. The singer seemed to be on the opposite side. As he was walking that direction the song turned to humming. He had an urge to hum along but decided to let the others voice fill him. It was a pretty voice and a welcoming change from his usual morning. He thought he might try singing his prayers for a change.

He then saw a beautiful starry mare reached the top of the hill. He stared at her a little awed. She was a wind. He had not seen another wind since he left the village for his quest. It made him happy and a bit homesick at the same time.

Vayu was confused at her words as she approached him. They were quiet but he still heard them and didn't know if they were meant for him, but he didn't see anyone else around and it sounded like a greeting. "I don't think I am your father, but good morning to you too," He replied.

Luminista was a little startled to find that she wasn't the only one on that hill top that morning. With a few quick blinks and a shake of her head, she turned and looked at the strange stallion that was also there. He too had wings like her own, but he was taller, by just a little anyways. Sheepishly she looked away and back towards the sun. "I am sorry, but I was referring to him." her gaze went towards the sun. "Father Sun, the one who guides the light of day while Mother sleeps in her cave in the mountains until it is time to spread her cloak of stars over the sky." Riddles she spoke, but turned to look at the stallion once more.

"But it is a wonderful morning, the Wind Brother has yet to show his tricks, but has given way to let Father shine down on the Sister and keep the Fallen ones away." Her eyes gave the sense of being lost. Lost in a time when the world outside her herd walls was a danger and worship of the spirits was common. Back when times were easier, before the herd was ravished by outsiders. Now she stood watching the sun, her wings stretching out at her sides to feel the warmth. It was going to be a glorious day.

"Have you come to greet the Father as well?" she inquired tilting her head to one side, ears flicking to hear a possible answer that was to come from the stallion.

Vayu cocked his head at the mares words. They were curious to him as he had never met someone you spoke so poetically. He tried to follow the meaning in her words and found that most of them made sense. He followed her gaze towards the sun. Awe yes father sun he thought. He could understand the sun being referred to as the father and the moon as the mother. He even liked those terms even though they were not ones that he used. He also liked wind brother as he often felt as close to the wind as his own family. He couldn't figure out who the sister or the fallen ones were and held on to those terms for a minute trying to figure it out. He would have to ask, but he felt naive not knowing.

He was so caught up in her words and speech that he almost missed the question she had asked of him. It took him a moment to figure out how to respond. He was not as eloquent with words as she was and he wasn't sure if he was greeting the father or not. He decided that the best way to answer was to just say what he was doing and she could decide for herself.

"I was doing my morning meditation pondering all that father sun touches and how it changes with his light when I heard your song. I came up the hill to hear the words and see what change it would bring." He flicked his tail nervously hoping that he didn't sound too naive to this mare.

He was not usually the nervous type but there was something about this mare that made him feel like he was missing something. But than again maybe that is what he needed. His spirit quest was one of gaining knowledge. It was pretentious of him to think that he knew everything. With this thought he calmed himself and opened himself up. The spirits had brought him to this mare to learn something and he must have faith in that.

He gained his composure again and added, "I guess I came up here to greet you. It is a wonderful morning. I am Vayu and my spirit is glad to meet yours." He bowed his head slightly to her in respect.

If her face had been any lighter then it was, the stallion could have seen the rush of color that flooded it. He had come to hear her sing? This was new, those that did hear her morning son to the spirits often questioned her. called her a freak and chased her away, or just kept to a distance and prayed that she would not notice them. Her wings fluffed out in pride that someone had actually come to hear her. The song was very old, passed down from mother to daughter while the sons had their hunt song. "The Father's magic changes things so quickly when he awakens." Luminista nodded. "He brings life and warmth to Sister earth and tries to keep the brother from causing trouble. It was said that the Brother is very protective of the Sister."

There she went again, like countless times before, her talk would go to things of her past. Turning her lavender gaze towards the skies, small puffy clouds drifted lazily along their merry way. "My name is Luminista, born under the luminous glow of Mother Moon. It is nice to meet you Vayu, wind brother." She smiled cheerfully at the stallion. It was nice to have someone to talk to that didn't think she was going off 'the deep end'. "My spirit too, is happy to greet you. It is nice to have someone to talk to that, likes the spirits as well. They teach us much." With another nod, she raised her head as a soft breeze rustled through her heavily braided mane and tail. The Brother beckoned, he wanted to play, but right now she was happily talk to someone who understood her. It was, refreshing.

Vayu hung on to her words, turning them in his head and contemplating them. He could already feel his own spirit changing from this meeting. With a thoughtful but curious look at the mare he murmured "yes he does," quietly in response to her first statement.

He thought about sister earth and brother wind and their personification as spirits. He had never thought of the spirits as having their own stories, lives or even personalities really. He had thought of them as having traits and even moods, but not like this mare seemed to see them. He thought about the wind causing trouble and about wind storms that had even kept him from flying. He contemplated the wind being protective of the earth and it reminded him of how he felt towards the regular, grounded soquili back home.

He was so lost in his contemplation that he barely registered her name and what she said after. There was some silence from him until his thoughts finally caught up. Luminsta, he liked that name and it seemed very fitting to the mare as she seemed to have a glowing spirit to her.

"That is a very fitting name. I too am glad to have met someone that seems so knowledgeable about the spirits. I have to admit I am still young in my journey to know the spirits. They are what have brought me out here and away from my family." He said this with great respect towards the mare. He did not want to go on too much about himself as he was more interested in knowing what else she had to say about the spirits.

She was still glad her face was dark colored, but she smiled brightly at the stallion. "Back home, the spirits were everything. Our way of life, no one did anything without speaking to those in tuned with the spirits. I was working my say up to become one." Luminista said though turned her face away from the stallion "But that was before the children of the Fallen Daughter came and destroyed everything." Her ears flicked back as she lowered her gaze towards the ground. "Since then I have wandered to where ever Brother Wind has taken me. His wings are mine as my spirit is his."

She looked back up at Vayu with still a little sadness behind her lavender colored eyes, but she was doing her best not to show it. There was much hardship in her eyes that one might see in an elder. "Have you ever heard the story of how Sister Earth and Brother Wind were born?" She spoke up suddenly losing the sadness and sought brighter thoughts. Though this story had its sad moments too. "Its one of the two stories I remember from my foalhood and always my favorite."

Vayu was intrigued by Luminista's home life. In his family the spirits were an important aspect too but not in the same way. It seemed to really be more about certain individuals who were really connected and consulted the spirits about everything. Most went to those connected individuals when they needed to commune with the spirits about importantt things not everyday matters. Even though all the males were required to do a spirit quest when they came of age, there importance on the spirits didn't seem as strong has this mares was. "Many in my home are not that connected to the spirits, but that sounds like a wise way to live. I one day hop I too can become in tune with the spirits," He said.

She spoke again of the Fallen and Vayu could sense her sadness on this topic and found himself becoming sad too. The Fallen did not seem like anything that he had ever encountered in his life before. He could not imagine anything that could destroy a whole herds life. Vayu did not know what to say about such matters so he stayed silent hoping she wouldn't be offended by his silence. He was a little relieved when she changed the subject, but he also felt a yearning to know more about what happened during that time to her.

"I have not herd that story, but I would l love to hear it," He smiled at her hoping to ease the tension. This mare seemed to have many stories and he was happy to hear any of them, especially one that she held dear.

[[ Sorry for not replying to this a long time ago. x.x Life got in the way and I completely forgot. ]]

Luminista smiled at the stallion as he mentioned that he would like to hear the story. It was one she always told, but others thought it was foolish. Snorting at her own thoughts and doubts, she was not with those others. She was with someone that was interested in her past and the stories that she held. Taking a breath, she began her tale.

"It was a long time ago, back before there was life here on the Sister. There was only Mother Moon and Father Sun. They were trapped within an eternal dance, they twisted and turned around each other. Finally one day, Mother Moon wanted a child, a daughter. So she and Father Sun gathered what material there was in their space and created Sister Earth. For ages they were happy, Sister brought forth her children. The Trees and creatures today. But over time the Sister started to die." Luminista paused and glanced toward the sky. Watching as the sun rose higher as the moon sank behind the mountains to rest for another night.
