Ophelia was still keeping her options open.
Today she found herself applying for a job in a local flower shop. She liked flowers and knew a lot of trivia about them. If poetry was good for one thing, it was for learning the symbolism of certain plants. Would such a thing hold much weight on her application? Probably not, but she was despite enough to try anything right now. She was in a pretty sticky situation, one she was trying to resolve as quickly as possible. She hated to be cared for, and craved the start of some independence, hopefully finding work would satisfy the need and help her feel less useless.
She was wearing something quite simple. Maybe not the best thing to wear for an interview, but the truth was she was jut glad to be wearing her own clothes again. She had dark make-up around her eyes and her waist length hair was slightly curled. The nineteen year old looked to be in her mid-twenties, she almost always did. She was tall for her age, rather skinny with eyes that reflected maturity beyond her years.
Finally she located Padma's Bouquet, she stared at the doors for a moment before steeping inside. Her honey coloured orbs scanned the area, after a moment catching sight of a man in an apron. She walked over to him, her heels echoing across the floor as she did so. "Excuse me, I am wanting to hand in a job application." Quicksilver the Archangel

Krishna glanced up at the girl that spoke to him, but he did not stop his work. The shears in his hands went right back to trimming the dead and damaged leaves away from an aloe vera plant while he inclined his head towards her in a nod. While he did not stop his work, he did begin his form of interview by giving her a direction, "Place it on the counter." After all, she had said she wanted to hand in an application; that meant it was already filled out, right? No need for him to stop or address her further. From the corner of his eye, he took another, slightly longer look at her. Her attire left him unimpressed. The dress was fine--too dressy for working with plants, of course, but appropriate for a cashier position. It showed that she had at least thought about her appearance for the interview. The heeled shoes, however, made him arch a rainbow brow. Totally inappropriate for any position he had to offer. That made him comment as he threw one of the browned leaves carefully into a bin, "Your shoes would make your feet hurt."

Ophelia walked over to the counter and placed down her envelope. The letter itself was brown and old looking, the writing on the front was fancy and swirled and it was sealed on the back with a blob of red wax in the shape of a heart. Presentation was the key... and she also had a lot of free time on her hands. Inside the actual application was more what you would expect, she even block printed her usually flamboyant handwriting to make it more readable.
She raised an eyebrow. Do you know what it was like to wear another persons clothes? For the past week she had wore blouses, t-shirts, leggings, jeans and most horrifically flat shoes. She had a boots back, and she planned to wear the hell out of them. "I will worry about my own feet, thank-you." She looked over her shoulder at him, before turning her body and leaning against the counter.
"Your shop has a lovely name. I think lotus are my favorite flowers." She stated, closing her eyes and taking a moment to appreciate the smell.

"Suit yourself, but hard to stand in, much less bend in," Krishna replied with a shrug. Her attitude was admirable, on some level--she showed some willingness to take responsibility and to justify her choices. Disrespectful, though, a fact which made him sniff as he lowered the shears to give the aloe vera plant a good look over his progress. Satisified that his work could wait the few minutes that it would take to interview the girl with more thoroughness, he made his way to the counter to view her application. He tore through the fancy wax seal without any comment. His opinion went noticeably up at her words, however, for two reasons. One, she knew the flower that related to the title of the shop. Second, she had given a compliment to his shop--a compliment it justly deserved. Nothing could ease the way more than flattery when it came to the florist. "Then your taste is better than half the people who walk into my shop," he replied, a backhanded compliment given in return as he scanned the application. Age--19? He looked up and scanned her up and down before looking at the paper again, commenting drily, "You look older." Also no prior work experience. A bigger problem, and one that he had to address immediately. "What makes you think you can work here? What can you do?"

Oh she could bend, she could do cartwheels in these damn things if need be. She was a senshi, doing acrobatics in stupid high heels was part of the job description. "Then prepare to be dazzled by my performance. The boots stay. Flat shoes encourage lazy posture and that leads to back problems." She stated, folding her arms and nodding firmly. This was a deal breaker.
Her face did not change when he commented about her age. "I know." There was nothing she could say to explain why. Admittedly she would look younger without all the make-up, but not by much. It was just how she was, her mother was the same, it was how she knew she would not change much between now and the age of thirty - if she took care of herself.
"What can't I do? I am comfortable with maths and stocks, know how to follow orders to the letter and can adapt to situations with the ease and grace of a weather girl. I am painfully organised, very clean and very to the point and direct. Do not mistake that for over-confidence, I just do not see the point in being modest, especially when competing for a position. You want to know what I can do, then let me show you and I promise you will not be disappointed." She finally opened her eyes, waiting for his reaction. Quicksilver the Archangel Sorry about any typos! It is late, really off to bed now!

Heels might have been a deal breaker for her, but Krishna honestly couldn't care less. He did not bat an eye at her defensive position or her reasoning, "I have no qualms with sensible heels." Key word being sensible, of course. Those tapering little sticks she was standing on, while stylish, did not exactly fit his definition. "Just be prepared to clean them." He cocked his head to one side as he listened to her answer, and although his golden eyes might appear distant, he was paying acute attention. She really was fascinating, in her way; the florist could easily imagine watching her at a bar or some other place where he had more anonymity and more time for observation. He was certain that she would have done interesting things. True, if he hired her on he would have more time to watch her but the problem with that plan, of course, was that as an employer he'd certainly have to interact with her too. "All well and good, but do you know anything of plants? Are you willing to get dirty, or are you looking for more of a cashier position?" He held up a hand to indicate he wasn't finished before she even got a chance to answer. Some explanation was, sadly, required, as much as he hated to speak for so long, "Because my operations are small. Everyone does a little of everything. One day I might need you at the register; the next you'll be carting fertilizer or pulling weeds. Or running errands. Whatever needs doing."

Ophelia raised and eyebrow and looked over at him, her hands still holding the counter as her weight rested against them. "I am not an expert, but give me two weeks and I will be." She simply stated, she would do her homework if that was what he was asking. At the moment she was a armature, but everyone started out somewhere. "All I ask if for instruction, as long as I have that, then I will be fine. If I am stuck, I will ask, but you will not need to repeat yourself." She nodded her head and closed her eyes again.
It was obvious that eye contact was something that she avoided altogether.
"Anyway, I am sure you already know this, but my name is Ophelia. You are yet to introduce yourself." She did not know this man's name, in their rush to get down to business they had forgotten introductions. She did not really know how this was going, she could stay here and advertise herself all day, it was all down to if he was willing to give her a chance and take a risk on someone without experience.

"Krishna." He spoke his name as though that should be self-evident. Hadn't she done her research? Didn't she know who owned the place? Apparently not. "I own this shop, Ophelia." Just to acknowledge that he had, indeed, heard her name. No need to make a big deal out of it. The florist considered what to say next, hating to mince words. "I've heard enough. Is there anything you want to ask me?" He'd give her his decision after. The interview was supposed to be a two way streeth, afterall.

"Not at all, I am sure anything I need to know will come up somewhere along the way. For now, I am good." She shrugged, she did not have anything more to add, and he had made his expectations very clear. She also knew the hours available from the actual ad that she had responded to. There was nothing more she needed to ask, and did not see any point in stretching out a conversation that was clearly over.
She stepped forward, finally letting go on the counter that she had been anchored on during the interview. "If that is everything I should get going since I have other interviews to make, you have my number when you have made up your mind." She nodded, waiting to be dismissed. Quicksilver the Archangel You can end this in your next post if you want. : D

Good. No questions meant no having to provide answers. Let him save his breath and would allow him to get back to work. After the aloe vera, he needed to tend to the cacti, and then the ever-time-consuming roses. Oh, the time he spent on roses was more than he spent on many, many plants--but they were always popular, and they always sold. Not his favorite flower, but he could not argue with profit. His expression was hard to read as he nodded in return, and he slid her application into a drawer under the cash register. Still, he had clearly reached a decision, and the ghost of a smile could be seen as he spoke again, Very well. Use your free time as you see fit. I'll see you tomorrow at eleven. We'll start with teaching you the cash register." -KA3D3- Okay. Now YOU can end this in your next post if you want. xD Didn't want to deny Ophelia a chance to respond.

"Eleven, I will be here on the dot." She nodded with a small smile of her own. She had gotten the job, and that was a huge weight off her shoulders. She could not wait to get home and tell Jett.
The teen nodded her head, and then headed out the door, with an added spring to her step.
