Backstory: Afridan was born of an elven mother and orc father, and though the family was perfectly stable, his parents decided to split up as their life goals were now way to different. Though Arfidan was very different from everyone else on Avalon, he was never teased or bothered by the kids or adults. Life was uneventful with his mother, and Arfidan was quite happy with nothing happening. Aireesse pampered and adored her son. Arfidan practically lived like a prince. Life was perfect, until Aireesse fell ill. The before beautiful and lively elf turned pale and tired. Luck wasn't on her side, and she passed away a few days before the cure arrived. No one on the island of Avalon knew how to cope with the loss, and rather than being taken inn by the school like the other orphans, Arfidan was sent to his father in Emgard. Not able to cope with the son's fits and the loss of Aireesse, Degar placed him a "day care" to get him properly socialized, toughen the child up and get some time to grief. Arfidan became an easy target for bullying due to his softer nature, and suffered heavy injuries the first few weeks.
Day care did what it what meant for, and Arfidan quickly got over his crybaby stage, but his body still remained weak compared to the others. Around the age of 6, he began taking an interest in weapons, often visiting the local arena to pick up on some techniques and practicing with his father whenever he could. Sadly, Arfidan didn't show any talent for the art, instead becoming more and more familiar with magic instead. After performing some tricks in a back ally, Afridan met Enon, a southern orc very much lanky and awkward as himself. Arfidan finally found somebody he could identify with, and was thrilled to spend time around the strange man. Enon turned out to be a great influence, teaching Arfidan not to rely on his brute strength, but rather his wits and creativity like he was meant to.
A few years later Arfidan began feeling that he finally had a place in life, and it's was not in Emgard, but out where it's adventure. He felt it was time to face his true destiny, whatever that may be. Spending time with Enon has allowed the halfling to mature rapidly, and he quickly capable of taking care of himself with no assistance or guidance. With a formal permission from his father, Arfidan took his first steps into the unknown, with Enon right behind to make sure he wouldn't get eaten by wolves. He's now on the quest to become a hero, taking on all adventures in his path.
