Zephyr recognized a strong power signature coming towards him.. his fingers tightening in response. He recognized it from the last battle. Queen Ares was not to be trifled with lightly. And Zephyr wasn't the type to let overconfidence spur him into reckless action. But when Ares showed no indication that she would battle with him, he relaxed and let his gaze slide downwards to glance at her. If she wanted him dead, he would have already been a corpse. The gap between their powers, between a senshi and queen, was far too wide to bridge. "Ares." He returned with a dry smile. Why was she here? Coincidence? Or otherwise? His mind tried to rapidly calculate the possibilities. But which one..?
It was a mixture of ambivalent feelings. He knew that she had defected from their side but he still remembered her as a senshi from the Dark Mirror Court. He wasn't the type to let sentiments get in the way but..
It was strange that her calm manner also had Zephyr responding in a similar manner. "It has been a long time since we've
personally met. However, I recall seeing you recently, your unexpected visit with your new friends were quite a surprise." He was referring to her ambush along with the negaverse at their last senshi meeting. In other circumstances, he might have thanked her. The senshi meeting, although profitable in information, had been tedious, marked by the usual disorganization and disagreements of senshi.
"The past few months have been a bit troubling." He wished that he could say otherwise.. and to confide in an enemy was hardly the safest thing to do. But Zephyr didn't need a friend right now who would only attempt to assuage his ego and pretty things up. If Zephyr talked to anybody, Ares was by far, the most formidable. He agreed to something that he never thought that he would agree to. "You were right all those months ago."
