The Half-Kalona mare known as Keshani Avenara shook her wings out as she landed, pacing a few steps before giving a half-rear and stretching the glowing, feathery appendages to their full length. She craned her head about to consider them, admiring the downy surface where so many Kalona had only thin membrane. Superior though they may be, Kalona wings were not as fine as the bird-like ones fate had given her to ride the sky with. Satisfied that none of the feathers were twisted after her trip through rough-winds and the slowly-darkening sky, she fanned them a few times before folding them to her sides. Of a much daintier nature than her sire, the mare shook from nose to tail and then paced into the embrace of the forest, still fearing none that may lurk within. Her sire was a proud Kalona stallion, her mother now a cursed Skinwalker, mad with hatred and bloodlust. She had been trained by one and hunted by the other since the day she could stand and see, and if she met her end, it would be fighting. Her flight had not been an overly long one, a quick dart into unclaimed land to hunt and graze -satisfying both sides of her nature- and a good drink before she took off. Should one wish to attack her, they were find her ready enough to retaliate, her hooves string and curved horns sharp at the tips. Still she rather hoped for a peaceful jaunt; the incoming storm sang over her senses, lightning in the air warning her against staying aloft at this point in time. For the moment she would content herself with walking, her cloven hooves making muffled chimes against the occasional rock strewn in her path. "Now... Where do you suppose I am?" She mused in a low murmur, narrowing her glowing eyes as she surveyed the trees looming all around. "Somewhere well off the beaten path, that much is certain..."

Being of the fire element did have its advantages small or not. It also has its disadvantages though the fact that he was bright red and yellow did not help him blend into the sky or the ground. He was treading the ground lightly his long tail dancing behind him and the blade at the end dug into the earth with each step he took. Most would mistake him for a kalona and try as he might most did not believe he was only a misunderstood creature seeking purpose.
Shaking himself and outstretching his wings the full bulk of his body was relieved. He was not the biggest but was also not the smallest he was big for his breed but had no problem with that. Sighing to himself he kept treading the path not sure what to do his face hidden behind a recently aquried mask that might of made him look even more intimidating. He was a lost being in a land full of good and evil not sure where he belonged in the circle of life.
He glanced around deciding what way he should go having no real place in mind only hoping it would not rain on him. Shaking his head he pushed on deciding to turn left and see what would be waiting for him in the unknown.

Keshani was well-aware that most of her kind would describe her as delicate, a fleeting, spritely kind of grace suffusing her smaller figure. It was interesting that she be so fined boned, considering the stature of her sire, but perhaps in that she took after her dam. She had no way of knowing, really. There was no way to guarantee the mare once known as Kanti would stay still long enough for them to compare their heights or builds... Not that much could be seen beneath the cursed-cat pelt she now wore. Keshani shook her head, banishing all thoughts of the mother she had never truly known. Sentiment? How unlike you. An inner-voice mocked, and she couldn't quite shake it. It was unlike her, and she resolved for that to be the end of it. No more silly thoughts. Now was not the time for it. But she had grazed and hunted and flown and wandered, and perhaps now she was just a touch bored. Enough for her thoughts to wander to nonsense and inconsequential things like Perhaps I look like Mother... It served her right that she would stumble into a wide-trail and just in front of a strange stallion. Well done, cloud-thoughts... She thought acidly, straightening and narrowing her glowing eyes as she considered the stallion with a flick of her tail. "Well... How... interesting."

With his mind still wondering he continued on drifting from thought to thought. He was not scared of anything that he might pass from a rabbit down to a skinwalker. He knew how to defend himself and would if all things had come down to that. He would always be moody but most ones born of the fire element were. He shook himself and kept walking leaving more footprints in the earth footprints unlike those of any other. He slowly came to a stop at a fork in the path going with his instincts he went with the more worn path of course thats not always right.
He came to another halt as a mare stood in the middle of the path. How long had she been there? He looked her over carefully not sure what to do seeing she was indeed a kalona. She reminded him of the type that should be left alone but somehow he felt drawn to her. When she spoke it sent shivers up his spine but he only stood his ground.
"I suppose you are here" he eyes her again his masked face showing no emotions but his eyes were showing everything. "We are both lost then i lost my purpose and im not sure what yours is" Nodding at her he just stands there waiting for her to make the next move.

Perhaps I look like mother- bah! It would serve you right if that curse-mad ghost stepped right out of your memory and ate you, feather-headed as you are today! Keshani scolded herself further, shaking her head and lashing her tail as she pinned her ears in temper. Foolish, foolish and stupid and near-suicidal. She was Kalona, true, but small and female and not of pure-blood... She couldn't afford to let her mind go wandering in the clouds and the mist-filled woods of perhaps. And it served her right again when she near-ran into the large red stallion. He seemed, distracted... Pondering -surely much deeper thoughts than the fleeting nonsense that so distracted her that she hadn't noticed his scent! A good thing her father was not around, she couldn't bare the shame of it. Traveling a well-hewn path in the forest and what does she get? Another traveler, of course! His thorough study of her made her shift one foreleg forward, a mute challenge as she set her head proudly, chin up. She certainly wouldn't cower before something larger than she, no matter how impressive his scaled and clawed self may be. It was difficult to read his expression, so she simply settled for keeping hers plain and proud. "It seems that I am." She replied neutrally to his remark, after all, what else could be said? It was interesting, almost a greeting as if he knew her... But she didn't give strength to such nonsense. "I am not lost." She snipped back, tail lashing at the insult. "I am... Exploring. My purpose is my own, and changes from moment from moment. For now it is simply to see what is here... And that, it seems, is you."
