The rainy season was just about over, thankfully. Baridi had been chased into far too many caves by surprise storms for her liking. She was thankful for the swollen rivers and the green live springing up around her, but she really was terrified of thunder. The loud noises had always startled and scared her, even when she was a cub. Thankfully her parents had been there to keep her calm, but now, wandering the rouge lands alone, she had to deal with being terrified on her own.
She glanced off into the distance with a sigh as she heard a distant roll of thunder. There were some massive thunderheads heading her way. Thankfully she was next to a mountain range which offered quite a few caves at its base. Baridi walked slowly to the range as the storm closed in, pausing here and there to drink and enjoy what remained of the sun.
Just a few minutes before the rains came, she made herself comfortable in a large cave. She sat down in the mouth of the rocky entrance and peered out over the plains. The winds were picking up, bending the grass and tossing the leaves in the trees about. She would have enjoyed the sight if she knew there would be no booming thunder in just a few minutes. Ah well...the stormy season would be over soon, and then she'd have to deal with the dry season. She wasn't sure which she liked less. The time between the rainy and the dry seasons was her favorite, but it never lasted very long.
