The boutique was small and quaint. It was also one of Rhapsody's favorites, as it carried a wide variety of incredibly unusual and complicated items. Elaborate stone and wooden puzzle boxes filled up one entire wall, while racks in one corner boasted a variety of mind teasers and crosswords. What she had really come for, though, were the hats. They were tiny and quite detailed and very, very expensive. They were also the perfect size to sit on top of a tiny little skull that had once belonged to a mouse.
It was, admittedly, a bizarre hobby. But owls ate mice, and when she spat out an owl pellet there were often nearly full skeletons entombed within. It had taken her several years to realize this, and then a few more to begin putting the skeletons back together. And then it has been a stroke of pure luck that made her articulate one of the skeletons as if it were dancing and gift it to her brother as a joke. It had, in fact, turned out rather well and a new hobby had been born for the quiet, studious girl.
And this particular boutique carried some of the finest doll clothing on the market, at least that Rhapsody had been able to find. So it was with a marked amount of glee (that didn't manage to be reflected within her cool expression) that Rhapsody began to clear the shelves of tiny hats and clothing of nearly all of their expensive contents.

Mystique stepped into the boutique she had recently herd about and looked around. If there was one good thing about coming from one of the older families it was that she could shop wherever she wanted without having to worry about price. Spotting the wall of puzzle boxes she nearly squealed in excitement, controlling herself she walked over. She was always looking for new puzzle boxes to add to her collection.
She picked up one of the wooden boxes and examined it. The pattern on the top was a chinese dragon and the box was made of high quality wood. Placing the box back on the shelf, as she already had a few dragon patterned boxes, she continued to browse looking for something different. A rustle of cloth to soft for an ordinary person but clearly addible to fox-like ears caused her to look over to the part of the shop that held the doll clothing. She had noticed the older mononoke upon entering but hadn't payed her any attention. Now she couldn't help but stare as she watched the other clear the shelves.
Flicking her three tails as her curiosity got the better of her she wandered over. She picked up one of the hats that had been passed over and stared at the price, her puzzle boxes were cheep in comparison. "This hat costs more then my entire outfit," she said to no one in particular. As it wasn't a school day Mystique was out of uniform and dressed in a short black and white silk kimono with matching silk pants and black knee-high boots. She set the mini hat back on the shelf wondering why it cost more then the regular hats the boutique carried.

It was clear by the quality of Rhapsody's clothing that she was one of those people who was born to wealth. While she didn't often advertise the fact that she belonged within the echelons of Royal society there were people around Lumena who did recognize her. There were even some who called her "princess", though the title was inaccurate. That said, she was not a girl of excess, save for a few very select things. And tiny little outfits were one of them.
She barely noticed the other girl at first, so swept up was she in admiring her new little treasures. But she sensed the presence of another and when the kitsune reached out for a discarded hat Rhapsody felt a momentary thrill of possession... this girl wasn't taking something that she had intended to buy herself, was she? But no, the other girl (who was really quite lovely in her kimono) was merely commenting on the price.
Though not talkative by nature, Rhapsody did find herself intrigued by the younger girl so she answered her without really considering if the question had been meant as rhetorical. "It's so much harder to make things so tiny, that's why they are so expensive." She said in her soft, musical voice.
