DETH Scout Human Cooker Badge
1221 Words
Amy picked up a DETH Scout kit while walking back to her room, there were posters for it all over the place. They were starting to outnumber all the other clubs' posters as the days went by. She pulled one of the posters down and folded it up as a souvenir. Their motto was pretty catchy, she sounded it out in her head as she walked. It wasn't much farther to her dorm and Tiger would probably be more interested in the box than what was inside it, although Amy's curiosity rose as she walked. The box was a bit heavy and as she walked, it sounded like things were shifting inside. As she reached her dorm room, she put down the box so she could open the door.
"Hey Tiger I brought something home, please don't tear anything up." She picked up the box and brought it inside, putting her foot in front of Tiger so he wouldn't run out into the hallway. He tried to pounce over her foot but ended up falling on his back. "No no Tiger, you can't run out there. I don't want to lose you again, last time it took you a whole week to get back, remember?" Tiger got up and meowed sadly before walking back towards her bed. Amy closed her door and walked to her bed, placing the box down on it so she could pick up Tiger to put him on the bed too. "You'll get a better view up here ok Tiger."
Amy carefully opened the box and began to pull out its contents as Tiger watched, hoping there was something to play with in there. The first thing was a doll, it had tight brown curls and some sort of uniform on. She placed it on the bed carefully and made sure Tiger didn't chew on it's hair. The next thing was some sort of movie, the cover had a picture of two humans with a shadow of a third next to them. "Hrm... Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows... Is that shadow on the wall after them? Or are they after it? I wonder what kind of game they're playing.." She set it down next to the doll and pulled out a large book from the box, on the cover it had large raised letters which read "Guinness Book of World Records". Tiger looked up at the book, the letters shimmered slightly in the light as she placed the book next to the other objects she had pulled from the box. Tiger pounced in the box and pulled out a small bag, inside it was some sort of human desert cake. "Don't eat that Tiger, I don't think it will sit well with you." Tiger carefully dropped the bag next to the rest of the objects and sat down on the bed, flicking his tail from side to side behind him as he waited for the box to be emptied so he could play in it. Amy pulled out a small wooden box out of the box, inside it was a few art supplies that humans use. She smiled over the colors and wondered what she might make using them.
The last two things in the box weren't human objects, one was a calendar and the other was a guide. Amy picked up the DETH calendar and hung it on her wall so she could keep track of things. She took a few moments to read through the guide, it seemed pretty straight-forward to her. "I think I might try to get all of these badges, it doesn't seem too hard. Right Tiger?" He looked up from her from inside the kit box and meowed softly.

He looked up from her from inside the kit box and meowed softly. She ran her finger over the the list of badges and stopped at the Human Cooker one, it didn't seem all that hard since she had a small oven in her room to make snacks for herself when she was bored. The recipe itself didn't seem that hard either, it called for 1 Corrividus, 1 Common Magiban, and a light sprinkling of Puck.
Amy got out some of the ingredients and pulled out her small knife, which she usually used for opening packages, the Corrividus squawked quietly and looked up at her and the knife she had. She moved it to the side, Tiger watched the minipet carefully as Amy chopped up the magiban carrot. It was a lot easier for her since it didn't seem alive like the Corrividus. She picked up the chopped magiban and spread it out in a pan evenly before returning to the Corrividus, it looked up at her pleadingly. Amy sniffled softly and put the knife down. "D'aw.... how am I supposed to kill such an innocent little minipet like that. I can't do it Tiger." She carefully picked up the Corrividus and placed it on her dresser. "I'll make you a home here ok? I'm sorry for trying to make you into food." She frowned for a minute before grabbing the puck for seasoning. The leaves made a nice garnish at the same time. She popped the pan in her haunted oven and went back over to the Corrividus, it tilted it's head and looked at her. "I think... I'll call you... Snowy. Is that ok?" She reached out to pet it slightly, Snowy cooed slightly. "Yay well make yourself at home here, but be careful of Tiger, I think he might try to play with your feathers." Tiger pawed at the dresser and growled, eyeing Snowy like she was a toy. "Nah uh Tiger... Snowy isn't food." She shooed Tiger away from the dresser slightly with her foot.
Amy thought about Humans for a minute, she wondered if they had the same reaction as her to killing something so cute. It would be nice to know she wasn't the only one who couldn't make food out of something that could be a nice pet. Other than that, the whole cooking thing seemed pretty easy and kind of relaxing. She pondered the though of trying cooking something else maybe some other time as she waited for an hour to pass. What other ingredients did Humans use? Did they have any recipes that didn't involve cute little creatures? How many different possibilities are there for cooking things? Snowy squawked softly after the time had passed. Amy turned the oven off and waited a bit before pulling out the pan. The food didn't look all that bad but she still wasn't sure about eating it or even giving it to her minipets. After placing the pan on top of the oven, she looked back at the guide and put a little check mark next to the Human Cooker badge. "That wasn't too bad right? Maybe I'll read through this Human book next."
