 Morning Rain yawned lazily from her shaded spot under an old willow tree. She had wandered off from her father's suffocating company for some alone time and was enjoying the solitude immensely.
Glancing to the river near the willow, Rain let out another yawn before pushing herself to her paws. Padding over to the edge of the water, she dipped a paw into the cool depths before jumping in. The river was deep enough to swim in, yet shallow enough for a full-grown wolf to stand in with their head above the water.
Giggling madly, she stood in the water, splashing around like a pup. It felt refreshing to be alone and be herself. With no one around, she didn't have to put on an act. It was wonderful!
Floating around leisurely, Rain wondered if the day could get any better.

 The dark colored wolf snorted and gnawed on the bone he'd stolen from another wolf. One that was a few moons younger than he was. Not that he cared in the slightest. He wanted that bone! So there he was. Sprawled out along a log, chewing the deer bone with a bored look about his face. Wicked Eclipse's golden gaze flickered around as a bird circled overhead. Maybe he could catch it and pull out a few tail feathers? That would be amusing. Or find a small rodent to chase around until it keeled over in fright.
....or he could follow that new intriguing scent and see just what had stumbled upon his little area of peace and quiet? He paused in his chewing, lifting his nose to the air and inhaling. Another wolf. Not one of his siblings. A large canine grin sprang to his lips and he heaved himself up to his feet, shaking out his coat before padding along silently towards the scent of the other wolf.
And he found her quickly enough. Acting like a pup and playing in the water. He snickered, laying down near the waters edge to stare like a creeper in a bored fashion at the female. "What have we here....hmm? A rather large fishy perhaps?"

Rain's eyes widened as the sound of another voice hit her ears. Flopping very ungracefully headfirst into the water, she came up sputtering and angry. Turning around to face the intruder of her peaceful day, she leveled a glare in the direction of the voice.
Her eyes widened again. A male. Ugh, goodbye great day.
Mustering up her usual acting facade when faced with a male, her eyes went from wide to half-lidded, her mouth spreading into a small, secretive smile. Her mother had taught her this, and it never failed her. Come on Rain, act like you weren't just flopping around in the water like a newborn pup. Distract him long enough to get a clear getaway to her father so he could eat the male if he dared to chase her. That was the plan. Okay let's do this.
"Hello there," a sultry voice she had come to recognize as her flirty facade purred out. "I was just cooling off... it's an awfully... hot... day. Care to join me?" She eyed the dark male like a steak with veiled curiosity. The best part of her game was how they reacted to the initial flirting. She had quite a few males just freeze and edge away from her slowly, not used to such a forward female. Of course none of these males had met her mother. She wondered how this one would react...

He laughed, a dark and husky sound that was not intentionally supposed to be seductive or flirtatious. But it was just so hilarious seeing the female splash about like a trout escaping the jaws of a bear! Wicked Eclipse didn't bother to hide his laughing either, letting those pearly whites shine brightly. When she surfaced and faced him - finally - the dark wolf wiped his face along his leg as if wiping away tears of mirth.
"Now that was quite the performance." Wicked drawled dryly, snickering as his golden eyes fell on the shewolf once again.
And to his surprise - which was really more like a his ears flicking forward to fully face the female as his head tilted to the side slightly - she greeted him rather...pleasantly. Very pleasantly. Cue 'wicked' wolf genes kicking in. His eyes lidded faintly, an almost interested look appearing in his eyes. "It is mighty....stifling out." He agreed. "Of course that could just be the scenery as well." Wicked stared at her, slowly stretching out his front legs and toes curling before sitting up. And possibly posing while he was at it.
"Just how refreshing is that water, deary?"

Rain held back the glare that was threatening to break her flirty gaze. She could already tell she had made an error in her judgement of the male. He wasn't like the others that would freeze up and run. He was one that was willing to rise up to a challenge. And he was quite good at this. She felt herself getting a tad flustered at his words. Thank goodness for the chilly bite of the water, or else she might have given herself away.
Damn. He was really good.
Well she had already initiated the game, she could at least play along for a bit longer before running.
She felt her eyes involuntarily running along the lines of his body as he sat up. At his last question, her eyes flitted back to his, her mouth stretching into a smirk.
"Very refreshing," She hummed, pausing to sit low in the water, flicking a paw playfully in his direction and sending a small spray of water in his direction. "You look like you could use a dip, darling." She tacked her own annoyingly affectionate word onto the end of her sentence. She was a tad miffed about being called 'deary'. What was she, a pup?

This little 'fishy' was turning out to be quite the playful thing. He was glad he stumbled across her. Something to amuse him today. Better than that bone he'd snatched earlier anyways. Or tormenting the rodents that knew better than to wander across his path.
Wicked casually scratched behind an ear, never fully taking his eyes off of his catch of the day. She was a feisty one. And he liked them feisty. Made his games all that much sweeter.
So long as no one else came and interrupted anyways.
His grin was dangerous and exciting all at the same time. "Perhaps I do. Since things keep warming up the longer I sit here." Wicked tossed her a lazy smile. Standing, he wagged his tail once, eying the water. "Well...since you insisted..." Eyes glinting, the dark wolf didn't just step in.
He dove in.
And had no shame whatsoever in surfacing all but underneath the shewolf. Whether his intent was to topple her over in the water or send her squealing indignantly was unknown.

Rain had to give herself some credit for containing her yelp of surprise - and maybe a bit of fear? - until the wolf was underwater. Her eyes screwed shut as water flew up from the wolf's impact with the surface.
In the few seconds that followed, Rain decided that running was not high up on the list anymore, surprisingly. No... winning was. This game she had initiated had taken a turn, but she was not about to doubt her abilities to turn it back in her favor. Or was winning really the object of her game? She couldn't really tell... she was having... maybe a little bit of... fun?
She attempted to stifle the blush that smacked itself onto her face when she felt his fur brush her from under the water. He was trying to be sneaky, was he? Well she could be a pain in the butt too. Grinning as he surfaced beneath her, she let herself fall back, feigning that he had got the best of her. Letting herself float beneath the surface, she came up directly alongside him, rubbing her shoulder against his side.
"If you wanted to get closer, darling, you only had to ask," she whispered in his ear, letting out a raspy chuckle.

Wicked probably could have been a little more....stealthy as he swam under the waters surface. But no. He let the obnoxious bubbles rise from his nose and trail along the surface as he came upon his prey Jaws style the female. A snort was the first response from him, head shaking to dispell the water from his face. He cast a sideways glance to the shewolf.
He chuckled, flashing her a dangerous grin. "Hmm....I'll have to try and remember that for next time." The dark wolf leaned in closer as her shoulder brushed his side. "Only problem is...I've never been one for asking..."
As he proved by leaning over and lightly grabbing her ear, giving it a playful tug before splashing away with a cackle, tail flicking back to splash her as he went.
Oh hey, what did ya know! There were fish in the water. Tiny ones, but actual fish. Which Wicked amused himself with, though all his attention was still on-
"Just what might your name be, deary?" Wicked called over his shoulder, looking back over at the shewolf. "Unless ya want me to keep calling you Fishy for now."

She let out an indignant bark when her ear was tugged on. This male! How dare he put his mouth on her! Her father would -
A splash from his tail tore through her grumpy musings. Her facade cracked a bit as she let out a real laugh, watching the bigger male splash around. Now she could see why he had made fun of her. This was more fun than anything she had done in quite some time!
She narrowed her eyes playfully, running up alongside him and bellyflopping right in front of him, creating a big splash.
"I'm no fish!" she went as far as to stick her tongue out at him.
"My name's Morning Rain," she tossed him a wink over her soggy shoulder, shaking herself out slightly all over him. "What's yours? Or should I call you Fishy?" she grinned.

The dark wolf laughed throatily after hearing her indignant bark. It was hilarious! And of course he was gleeful it had been something he caused. It really was too much fun teasing and tormenting other wolves. Their reactions were just....priceless!
Hmmm, but hearing a real laugh bubble out of the shewolf made Wicked truly grin. A smug thing that lacked any sinister meanings. He'd made her laugh! Excellent.
And then he was snorting and hacking up water as a mini wave crashed into his face. Wicked gave his head a mighty shake, ears flapping against the water with loud smacks. He wrinkled his nose, growling playfully and snapping his jaws mockingly. But he didn't lunge or try to tug her ears again.
"Oh you aren't, are you?" His eyes narrowed teasingly, the dark wolf stalking closer. Only to get another round of water in his face, though not as bad as before. "Morning Rain, is it? Quite lovely and....fitting."
With a bark of laughter, Wicked used his hind legs to propel himself up and almost out of the water, only to splash back down right in front or Morning Rain before surfacing and pinning her with a devious stare.
"Call me whatever you like, deary. However my family deemed me best suited to the name Wicked Eclipse."

Rain allowed herself to get a bit flustered at the wolf's compliment to her name. It was odd for her to interact with a male so easily. Perhaps they could be friends? The thought made her smile.
And then the wall of water hit her. Coughing and sputtering, Rain caught his stare with a glare of her own.
"If I can call you whatever I'd like, I think I'll call you Pup - since that is what you act like ~" She smirked, before rushing towards him and tackling him down.
